Lunations and Long-term Aspects

This month there is only one lunation to report on, a Full Moon on February 14 which is celebrated as Valentine's Day in much of the world.  This has interesting implications which I'll cover in more depth later on.  Meanwhile I'm going to take this opportunity to go into Mercury retrograde.  He stations RX on February 6 at 03:20 Pisces, your 8th house of transformations, death and rebirth, shared resources, intense experiences, things you suppress and debt.  Mercury is in debility as well as fall in Pisces where his logical, fact-based energy is afloat in a world of illusion, imagination and intuition, especially considering that he's also in conjunction with Neptune, Pisces' ruler.  If your birthday is right around July 26 this station will quincunx your natal Sun and have more of an impact.  Mercury doing the backstroke is a time to rethink, reconsider and re-plan.  As always, this is not the time to make any major purchases that involve such things as cars, appliances or electronics.  The positive side of this station is that perhaps the inspiration and enlightenment inherent in Pisces will bring a new level of information from a different source.  Mercury rules your 11th house of friends and goals as well as your 2nd of income, possessions, needs and pleasures so these areas of your life may be the ones involved in some major change you either are or should be thinking about.

Venus stationed direct in Capricorn the end of January and is currently conjunct Pluto in your 6th house of work, health and pets.  Venus RX tends to draw attention to what you value and once that's established she can fire you up to put on your armor and go after and fight for what you want.  This could very well relate to what Mercury will have you do now.  There is opposition and challenge out there but more on that when I get to the Full Moon.  Meanwhile, for Mercury's station Venus is in favorable aspect with the Moon in your 10th house of career, reputation, public image and status which suggests finding emotional satisfaction in your work which should have some relationship to your career.  If you are in a day job simply to pay the bills while you pursue what you really love in your spare time now might be the time to give that some deep thought.  There may be someone close to you who is telling you to get over it and deal with your responsibilities such as paying the bills or maintaining your current household as opposed to worrying about liking much less loving your job.  If this is the case you are probably up against some major challenges but you have the heart of a lion and are not too happy about being denied what you want.  So put this Mercury RX period which will last most the month to work seeking inspired solutions to have your cake and eat it, too.

The Full Moon on February 14 is in your sign, Leo, and on your natal Sun if your birthday is right around August 19.  The usual implications of a Full Moon are that of an ending, culmination or shift to a new phase.  This occurring on Valentine's Day certainly could relate strongly to relationships, which are the focus.  Perhaps a new romance will begin, and old one end or perhaps shift to a new level such as becoming officially engaged or even married.  At this time Mercury has backed up far enough to have left Pisces and gone back into Aquarius, your 7th house of relationships where he is conjunct the Sun.  This could be the time to reopen an old, unresolved issue with someone close to you, especially anything that affects you at a personal level.  Those obligations or perhaps an authority figure at home may still be staring you in the face but fortunately you are not the kind of person to give up.  Now is a favorable time to discuss any new thoughts or ideas you may have, especially if Mercury has delivered on some inspiration.  Drawing from your core beliefs and taking action on them hold potential for resolving this dilemma.

There have been various rumblings going on at the subconscious level for a while now.  You may not have even know what they were, only felt a certain restlessness you couldn't lay your finger on.  This would be Jupiter in your 12th house.  Here the job/career theme comes back for review and whether or not you're happy and satisfied with your current situation or path.  Finding the proper balance is going to involve breaking away from any beliefs you have that are holding you back.  This will be easier for those of your born around August 3.  Now is a time to embrace your uniqueness and not be shy about expressing your view of life, even though it may be quite unconventional.  As they say, man does not live by bread alone and finding your own particularly purpose or mission in life may mean breaking away from the usual path.  Talking over your ideas with someone, perhaps a sibling or neighbor, and taking action or at least planning to are favored as a way for moving toward what is in your heart.  You'll never get there unless you map out the way and set out on the right path.
