Lunations and Long-term Aspects

This month there is only one lunation to report on, a Full Moon on February 14, which is Valentine's Day in many parts of the world.  Having only one is somewhat rare even though last month January had three, two New and one Full.  Since the lunar cycle is not in synch with our twelve-month calendar it's typical for one of the longer months to have three but it usually doesn't leave February with one.  However, that is how it turned out. 

This gives me the opportunity to spend a bit more time on the Mercury retrograde station on February 6 which occurs at 03:20 Pisces, your 11th house of friends, groups, organizations, goals, hopes and wishes.  Mercury is debilitated as well as in a condition known as fall in that sign where his usual hardline logic and fact-based operations are compromised by an environment that is intuitive, dreamy and other-worldly.  Add being retrograde to that and it could either leave Mercury entirely lost in a fog or perhaps serve as a double-negative and actually enhance his function by adding a huge dose of inspiration.  This is also made possible by the conjunct to Neptune, modern ruler of Pisces.  Think about whatever you have going on in this 11th house part of your life and consider what you need some inspiration regarding which you should be able to obtain, even more so if your birthday is right around April 23.

Your sign ruler, Venus, just came out of retrograde in fellow Earth Sign, Capricorn, your 9th house of beliefs, expectations, higher learning, other cultures, long-distance travel, politics, religion, legal matters and relocation.  Her RX mission often relates to identifying what you value and then, as appropriate, going after it with as much aggression as required.  During and partly after a retrograde cycle Venus rises before the Sun, becoming the Morning Star and viewed by numerous cultures as the Goddess of War as opposed to her usual more passive role as the Goddess of Love.  Venus is conjunct Pluto, a planet that will transform what he contacts which implies that your belief system or some other component of your 9th house is in the process of undergoing major, important changes.  Pluto will expose and eliminate anything that no longer has a place in your life while Venus helps by identifying that which has the most value.  This, of course, then requires shifting your priorities as required to honor that which you want the most. 

Conveniently, the Moon is trining Venus in the station chart and is in your sign, bringing additional assistance.  This can help facilitate the emotional commitment necessary to pursue change.  She is conjunct the natal Sun of those born right around May 10 who will receive extra benefit from this aspect.  Nonetheless, there are various challenges associated with this time which is no big surprise since change is seldom easy, especially for a Fixed Sign that tends to embrace the status quo.  Remember that all of this relates to Mercury retrograde in you house of friends and goals.  Some of the challenges are ongoing and I'll cover later with the Full Moon.  Some specific to Mercury's mission include career, status or relationship responsibilities which will be impacted by what you want to pursue.  Nonetheless, as a Taurus you can be a veritable bulldozer once you make up your mind to go after what you want.

The Full Moon on Valentine's Day is in fellow Fixed sign, Leo, your 4th house of home environment, memories, cultural roots, endings and new beginnings.  A Full Moon usually indicates and ending, culmination or shift to a new phase so this implies as well that it may be time to move on with something in your life.  Nonetheless, a relationship or responsibilities to someone close to you are one of the obstacles you need to overcome.  The good news is that Mercury has backed into Aquarius, a logical Air sign with a propensity for detachment which can help you plot your course out in a practical way with which you can feel comfortable.  All that Piscean inspiration is all well and good but a stable, security-minded Taurus needs more than an appealing vision to make major changes.  Mercury is still RX but the rethinking and reconsidering will now assume a different energy than the initial inspiration.  Now it can start to move toward something real once you get past the obstacles.

Mars is in Libra, your 6th house of work, health, daily activities and pets, and has the potential to help.  Mars is debilitated in Libra where his unilateral propensity for action is often forced to consider others but this is not always a bad thing.  There are implications that someone may assist in this area that relates to work as well as potentially your relationship issues and perhaps even help bring useful information out of your subconscious or perhaps further support the original inspiration.

The ongoing conflict or challenges that will be there for a while include what is represented by a T-square that connects Uranus, Pluto and Jupiter.  Pluto, as noted earlier, is in your house of beliefs and not a bad thing other than the fact as a Fixed sign you don't always like to change your mind.  Nonetheless, this will in the long run be in your favor.  The square between him and Uranus in your 12th house which include your subconscious mind as well as inspiration and enlightenment suggests the battle breaking away from something you need to release.  Uranus in the 12th can bring flashes of inspiration and definitely assist with connecting with new innovative ideas.  Jupiter is in your 3rd house of thoughts, ideas, siblings, neighbors and local travel in Cancer, sign of his exaltation, which bodes nicely for expanding your horizons in that part of your life.  New information coming in is exactly what is needed so you have something else to ruminate upon and allow Pluto to do his job getting rid of anything that no longer fits. 

Thus there is a lot to think about and consider at this time.  Also note that whatever you come up with probably won't come about immediately.  Next month Mars goes retrograde which is a time to look back on previous actions for various lessons and a time when taking direct action is often met with considerable frustration. However, Taurus tends to be a patient sort so this will give you additional time to get all your ducks in a row and decide where you want to go and how to get there.
