This month starts out with the New Moon on August 1st, which will occur in your 2nd House of finance, possessions, and pleasures. Note that this is also an eclipse, meaning that whatever gets started will be in force for approximately six months, at which time it will be closed out by the Full Moon eclipse that occurs around that time. Therefore, expect something new to come along in this area that will continue to develop over the next several months. With Venus and Mercury also in Leo for this event, it appears that its effects will be positive with the information you need available, even if you have to dig for it.

There's an interesting aspect from the asteroid, Vesta, that's in square to the New Moon from your 11th House of groups, organizations, friends, as well as hopes and wishes. Vesta's influence includes dedication, service, and rituals that bring us continuity and security. Thus, it appears that a conflict will arise between some of your social activities and this new direction relative to your finances. This is likely to be no more than the fact that there's only so many hours in a day and you'll have to miss some of these group or organizational activities into order to tend to that 2nd House business. Or maybe it's just time you gave the financial side a little more attention. Cancers are seldom spendthrifts, but maybe some of those activities are slowly eroding your finances, so bear that in mind.

That conjunction between the Sun and Mercury will continue until August 5th, providing a few more days of emphasis on collecting or conveying information. If you're shopping for something, this will be helping in finding what you're looking for at the best price. Also in effect at that time will be an opposition between Venus and Neptune. Venus is also in your 2nd House, which is a nice place for her to be as she's not only benefic, but rules relationships and finances as well. She is going to be giving you a sanity check on all this while Neptune will be trying to lure you into something that may not be in your best interest. Neptune is all about dreams and inspiration, but can also deceive by not allowing you to see reality. Thus, if you're shopping for something like a car, Neptune may try to convince you that you can afford that Lamborghini when you know darn well that a Corolla is much more within your budget constraints.

At this same time Venus will also trine Pluto. Pluto is currently in your 6th House of work, health/fitness, and pets. This could bring something to light relative to your job that could be beneficial financially as well. Maybe you'll discover something that earns your a bonus or maybe you happen upon a new one that pays better. It could also relate to some of the power struggles you've seen in the workplace lately, but should come out in your favor.

Also in force during this time and extending until August 12 is another opposition, this time between Mars and Uranus. Mars is in your 3rd House of thoughts, ideas, short journeys, and neighbors. This will bring a lot of drive and energy to this venue, but in cahoots with Uranus make sure that you expect the unexpected, particularly as it relates to your beliefs, long distance travel, higher education, and legal matters. There will be a clash of some sort between these two areas of your life, either on the mental or physical level. It could be anything from a new idea violating your core beliefs to a neighbor causing some trouble that results in legal action. It should all work out well in the end, however, as long as you don't ignore it and take appropriate action. This is most likely to be noticeable for those of you born between July 9 - 15, give or take a day or two.

Overlapping that timeframe, from August 10 until the 24th, Mars will square Pluto. Be especially careful driving during that time, and also expect a conflict of some description to come up at work, probably between how you think things should be run versus how they are. As a Cardinal Sign, you have firm ideas on how to do things that often don't go over well with your superiors if they don't agree. Don't take risks of any kind during this two week period as you'll be more accident prone than usual as well. During about this same time, the Sun will oppose Neptune. We already talked about Neptune's ability to deceive, but the Sun will throw enough light on things that you should be able to see the truth, assuming, of course, that you're looking for it. You tend to go with your heart more than your head, but now would be a good time to switch that around as your emotions may be more susceptible to illusion than cold, hard logic.

From August 13 - 31 Mercury and Venus will be in a bear hug that will largely take place in Virgo, your 3rd House, which as previously noted relates to thoughts, short journeys, and so forth. This is a nice pair of planets to have there as they will inspire your thoughts with optimism and pleasantries in general that will further assist you with those other challenges out there this month. In other words, you'll be able to figure things out to your benefit. This effect will peak on August 20, so if you have something special you need to work on, make sure you include that day in your planning to take full advantage of its benefits.

The Full Moon on August 16 is also an eclipse, which occurs in Aquarius, your 8th House of sex, transformation, and shared resources. This will deliver the culmination of something in this area of your life that began back in February. Transformations can occur in just about any area of your life, so if something has occurred over that time that has had a large influence on you, it will be winding down to a close. Something has occurred that has changed you or your way of thinking; you just need to recognize it and then acknowledge what it's done for you so you can fully utilize it for your growth.

The Sun will trine Pluto from August 17 - 26. This is a generally positive aspect that should also affect your job, ideas, and finances in some way. Pluto is about power and also transformation change, so throw them in the mix as well as you're looking for how this will manifest in your life. From August 20 - 31 Jupiter will trine Saturn. Jupiter is in your 7th House of relationships, which has been expanding the depth and scope of how you interact with those closest to you. This includes not only your significant other but close friends and relative as well as business partners or associates. Saturn is in your 3rd House, bringing structure, discipline, and boundaries to your thoughts and how you relate to your neighbors. With these two planets in trine, it implies that an harmonious flow of disciplined energy will be going into your relationships. Since you tend to be emotional, this could be very beneficial. The 2nd New Moon this month on the 30th will give this some additional energy in that 3rd House venue to open up some new doors of one kind or another. It won't be as powerful as the New Moon eclipse on the 1st, but it will herald something new nonetheless.

For the last few days of August, from the 26th through the 31st, that Venus/Mercury conjunction will square Pluto. Whatever this happens to be unearthing, it will involve a conflict or challenge of some sort, but as noted earlier, your thought processes will be in good shape for taking it on. During this time, Venus and Mercury will move into Libra, your 4th House of home environment, bringing that positive influence there as well. Pluto in the 6th House can relate to both work and your health. If you've had any vague and hard to diagnose health problems, this will help identify the problem. There could be some interference from a female in your life at that time, so don't be surprised by it and be prepared to dismiss it as peacefully as possible.

From August 29 - 31 the Sun and Saturn will be in conjunction, which will continue into the first ten days of September. This will further emphasize the discipline needed in your thought process that will help you sort out all these issues and events to your advantage. It's clearly going to be a busy month with lots of action on the mental landscape and decisions to be made that will affect your finances for several months to come. The overall trend is favorable, however, so don't overreact to anything that initially appears negative because in the long haul it will most likely be to your benefit.
