This month the bulk of the action is going to be in your career and reputation as a host of planets do their astrological thing in your 10th House. This kicks off with the New Moon on August 1st, which comes with a considerable punch since it's also a solar eclipse. A New Moon, by definition, is when the Sun and Moon are at the same zodiacal degree, forming a conjunction. However, doesn't mean that they're in the same position in the sky. Thus, for an eclipse, they're also at the same declination, or distance above the horizon. This gives their energy an even bigger whammy, such that its influence will last for approximately six months, until a Full Moon eclipse closes it out. With this one in your 10th House you can expect something new to get rolling in that area this month. The New Moon is in close proximity to Mercury, as well, which will enhance the data and communication part of all this. In other words, if you're looking for a new career or just trying to figure out what you'd like to be when you grow up, this will help you find the information you need. Mercury and the Sun will remain in conjunction until the 5th, so you have a few extra days to see what you can find out that will benefit you in this part of your life. Friendly Venus is also in that House, which makes for an extra dose of favorable vibes that certainly never hurts.

During this same time, Venus will oppose Neptune, however, over in your 4th House of home environment. Usually these two planets make for some nice things, between Venus' favorable nature and Neptune's dreaminess, but Neptune in this case could introduce a bit too much idealism or even a bit of delusion into the equation. In this context, if you're indeed considering a career change, you need to take off the rose-colored glasses regarding how it will affect your home life. Be realistic and don't think that taking on a romantic career as an international forensic expert that involves 80% travel won't cause problems with your family, regardless of how much you'd succeed in the work itself.

During about this same time, Venus will trine Pluto, your Sign Ruler. This should be a very favorable aspect for discovering financial information. If money is motivating your move, this will give you the scoop on whether that will really happen or not. Again, realism is essential. Also in effect during this time and lasting until August 12 will be another opposition, this time between Mars and Uranus. Mars is in Virgo, your 11th House of groups, friends, organizations, and hopes/wishes, which could mean that one of your acquaintances is stirring up trouble. Uranus bring unexpected events and other surprises and is entirely unpredictable other than the fact that you can expect something and he's cruising along in your 5th House of creativity, ego, romance, children, and speculation.

Thus, someone or something from your group interactions is going to throw a curve toward your kids, romantic interest, or perhaps simply your ego. The last few days of this charming aspect Pluto will get into the act, and then linger in square to Mars until August 24. This creates a T-square from August 10-12, dropping a pressure point from this issue into your house of finance, possessions and pleasures, where Pluto is hanging out. So whatever is going on will impact your finances in some way. From August 12 - 24 that Mars/Pluto square will continue, with Mars moving from your House of groups to your 12th of hidden enemies on August 20th. During this time be especially careful to guard your belongings, including anything that might make you vulnerable to identity theft. While as a Scorpio I have every confidence that you could find out who did this and how and probably do some bad things to the perpetrator, it would still be a nasty experience that you'd do better to avoid.

The Sun will oppose Neptune during that time as well, which throws some more light on that situation at home to assure you're seeing things in the full light of day. As good as your instincts are, now is a time when logic applies, also, so you'd do well to ask one of your trusted, Earth or Air Sign friends for their input as well. Communications should go well as Mercury and Venus cuddle up from August 13 - 31. This will occur in your 11th House of groups and will thus enhance your ability to figure out who the culprit is, if anyone, as you'll be viewed in a favorable light. By month's end the two of them will have slipped into your 12th House of inspiration, spirituality, dreams. and hidden enemies, bringing favorable communications into that venue as well.

The Full Moon on August 16 occurs right next to Neptune in Aquarius, your 4th House. This is also an eclipse, and this one will close out something that sprang to life last February that related to your home environment. It's time for this to phase out so that all that career business noted earlier can phase in. The Full Moon brings with it some auspicious aspects for closing this out in a favorable manner. The Moon is in close conjunction with Neptune, which will bring along some inspiration and uplifting effects from whatever you've been dealing with. There is also a rather nice Grand Earth Trine, which is a nice stable way to end just about anything. There's a whole bunch of planets in Virgo, your 11th House, which is clearly the main focus of the trine. This includes Mars, Venus, Mercury and Saturn with the last three in a fairly tight conjunction which will impart favorable communications along with responsibility and structure to your group interactions and everything else in your 11th House, which includes your hopes and wishes. Jupiter is in Capricorn, your 3rd House of thoughts, ideas, neighbors, and short journeys, indicating an expansion has taken place in that area. The final member of the trine is the asteroid, Vesta, who's in your 7th House of relationships. Vesta influences our dedication, service, and how important rituals are in our life. Thus, whatever you were working on the past six months relative to your home environment also had an impact on how you view your friends and group associations and the important of dedication to your close relationships. Remember that your 7th House includes not only your significant other, but close friends and relatives as well as business partners or associates. If you're in business for yourself, it includes patronage as well.

From August 17 - 26 the Sun will trine Pluto, once again shining some light on those financial issues to help you achieve some deep probing in that area. Remember that Pluto is all about death and regeneration, i.e. out with the old, in with the new. If it's time to rework your financial situation, this will help you identify what needs to be done. That Mercury/Venus couple will square Pluto from August 26 until the end of the month, which which could bring out how some of your group activities are affecting your budget in a way you hadn't noticed before. Sandwiched into that time period, Jupiter will trine Saturn from August 20 -31. Jupiter is over there in your 3rd House expanding your mind and Saturn, as noted earlier, is in your 11th House of groups, friends, hopes and wishes. This harmonious trine should generate some useful food for thought related to your responsibilities to your friends, group associations, and so forth with the Sun conjoining Saturn the last few days on the month to drive this this home even more. The second New Moon this month on the 30th also occurs in your 11th House, giving even more momentum to something new in this area.

All in all, this will be a busy month. If you're thinking about changing careers, you have a lot to think about, particularly if it's going to affect your finances. Many times in order to find career satisfaction, the size of our paycheck doesn't matter and we need to sacrifice income for happiness. This is usually a good trade, but takes preparation and understanding what it will entail. If you do the math on that part, it will bode well for a change. This will not happen overnight, however, but over the next six months, so take your times and prepare carefully for the transition. Your priorities in general are also up for review and whether your friends, group associations or even your hopes and wishes are having a negative impact on other areas of your life.
