February 2008 Astrocast

Key Events:

New Moon:  02/07/2008 (Annular Eclipse)

Full Moon: 02/21/2008 (Lunar Eclipse)

Mercury Direct: 02/20/2008

RX Planets:  Saturn until 05/03

With Mars now moving forward in your Natural 1st House of personality, you should have plenty of drive and energy going for you until the first week of March.  This is a great time to get something started you've been wanting to do for yourself, so make good use of it.  This is especially favorable for Twins since for the first week of February Mars is in a nice, harmonious trine with busy Mercury, your sign ruler.  Mercury is hanging out in Aquarius, your Natural 9th House of higher education, legal matters, long distance travel, religion and politics until the Ides of March.

The one caveat here, however, is that Mercury is retrograde again until February 19.  Remember not to buy anything electronic or mechanical at this time and if you absolutely have no choice, be sure you have a good warranty in hand.  As you probably have noticed, this is not a particularly good time for you or Virgos, who are also ruled by the communication king.  It may well be the Zodiac's way of telling you both to slow down a bit three times a year, so it behooves you to learn to use these seeming speed bumps to good advantage.  We all tend to groan when a planet goes retrograde, but in reality it just internalizes the energy, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.  When Mercury is RX it's a good time to rework, review or edit anything you've been working on.  Knowing how ADHD both Geminis and Virgos tend to be, there is undoubtedly some project out there that could benefit from another look-see to make sure you didn't miss anything.  Both of you move quickly, and while Virgo is definitely detail-oriented, when you move at the speed of light you're still likely to blow past something.  Thus, you should use this time to teach yourself to assure what you've done is entirely in order, particularly if you don't like it if someone else points it out to you later, resulting in a rework, anyway.

Thus, if you put two and two together, in this case your Mercury RX and the area of your life encompassed by the 9th House as noted above, it looks like an excellent time to take a good, hard look at anything you've had in work in those areas and make any necessary corrections.  One thing you'll want to keep an eye on is the fact that also during the first week of February that dreamy Neptune will be in conference with Mercury. Neptune's energy is somewhat contrary to your facts-oriented, logical nature.  He can create illusions, delusions, and dissolve what he touches on the down side, yet present us with inspiration and a touch of idealism on the up side.  Thus, this could well give you a few new things to consider while you're doing, or I guess I should say redoing, whatever it happens to be.  This is likely to be a good thing, as Martha would say, since you're usually less inspired than some and this could hand you a few good things to consider that will put a nice spark into your project at hand.  Note, also, that the New Moon is in this same general neighborhood on the 7th.  Being an eclipse, this insinuates a new beginning of some sort that will be on the books until next fall, which may or may not be related to this other business related to higher education, legal stuff, etc.  (I know you bore easily, so I won't be any more redundant than necessary, but also realize you may not speak fluent astrologese, either.)

During about this same timeframe, friendly Venus will be up close and personal with Jupiter.  This will be taking place in your Natural 8th House of sex, transformation, and other people's resources.  Both of these are considered benefic planets, a.k.a. lucky, so you ought to be able to do the math on that one, regardless of how familiar you are with mythology.  Hint:  Venus, the Goddess of Love, influences our love life and also our finances and Jupiter expands and escalates what he touches.  As pleasant as this may turn out to be, it may necessitate an adjustment of some sort on your part, especially if your birthday is within a few days one way or another of May 31.  Nonetheless this is likely to also be a good thing in the long run.

Between February 6 - 9, an annoyance or nuisance of some sort could come up relative to your career or reputation as Mercury gets into a somewhat itchy aspect with UranusHahahaha.  Okay, with the bad pun out of the way, we'll move on to see what  else is going on in that neighborhood.  Uranus is strolling along in Pisces and will be for sometime to come, but the plot thickens since the Sun will also enter that sign on the 20th, which will shine his figurative light there and further stir up anything needing attention in that part of your life.  In addition, the Sun will oppose stuffy Saturn from February 22 - 27.  Saturn is in Virgo, your Natural 4th House of home environment.  Saturn is all about responsibility, delays, ambition, and authority, so while he pokes along in this vicinity he'll be prodding you to pay attention to your home responsibilities.  This opposition will more than likely rub your nose in sort of conflict between your home life and career.  The Full Moon on the 20th is just a few degrees away from Saturn, which implies the end of a phase of some description, probably something that started last fall since it's also an eclipse.

On the 18th, friendly Venus moves into Aquarius, your 9th House again, and at this point you ought to be remembering what that comprises.  (Hint:  higher education, legal stuff, blah, blah, blah.)  This should bring some luck in love or money to this venue, especially when she encounters your buddy, Mercury, who a day later comes out of retrograde.  This will greatly enhance your ability to communicate, so if you have some sort of project in this venue that needs to be presented to someone, you couldn't have a more favorable aspect to do so.  Even better, there's no rush on this one since it will be in effect all the way until the end of March.  Thus, take your time and make sure you have all your i's dotted and t's crossed.  If there are any investors involved in the particular scenario, you may encounter a blip of some sort on the 29th, but since it involves Jupiter, who is generally expansive and lucky, it's very likely to all come out quite nicely when all is said and done.

If you've been paying attention you've probably figured out that there is something going on in your 9th house which is....  No, I absolutely refuse to tell you again.  There is also something going on between your homelife and career that is presenting a bit of a tug-o-war of some sort.  Nonetheless, there is quite a bit of favorable stuff going on out there, including an energy boost from Mars, which you would do well to exploit.  Keep an eye on Mercury during his RX period, but remember to use it constructively instead of butting your head against a planet that is significantly bigger than you and you should make considerable progress this month.
