The month starts out with the primary action in Aquarius, your Natural 7th House of relationships, and Gemini, your Natural 11th House of groups, friends, hopes and wishes. Retrograde Mercury is in Aquarius, which implies some redefinition or resolution of old issues in your relationships may be something deserving of your attention, as applicable. Mercury is in a nice, harmonious trine to Mars, who has just come out of retrograde himself. While he was retrograde, you may have felt that you were stuck in reverse as far as any 11th house issues are concerned, such as making any progress with your association with friends or groups or perhaps moving forward with any hopes and wishes you're trying to pursue. These two planets create a combination which is in a generally favorable aspect. Mars going direct will give you some energy and drive relative to pursuing whatever it is you're looking for, though it may require some negotiations of some type to get where you want to go. This will be further emphasized by Mercury RX, which is actually an excellent time to redo, rework, or replan, which is more than likely required to attain your goal. (It's a lousy time to buy anything electronic or mechanical, however, so put that off until after the 19th when Mercury goes direct. If you absolutely must buy something in one of those categories before that time, make darn sure you have a warranty in hand as you're likely to need it. But I digress from the main issue at hand.) In a nutshell, Mercury RX and Mars direct should give you some serious impetus toward getting something exactly right so you can pursue your goal. Another factor in effect at this time is Neptune, who's cozying up to Mercury. Neptune requires some monitoring, but in this case should work to your benefit. The king of the deep can throw a giant wall of water between you and reality that can greatly distort your view, and is also known to dissolve what he touches. This is the bad news. The good news is that he can also bring spiritual insights, inspiration, and a touch of idealism to the party. If your goals were perhaps lacking in this area, this should give you some new insights which you can use to your benefit. Another good sign is the New Moon in that same neighborhood on February 7. A New Moon usually heralds a new beginning of some sort, and as a friend of mine has said, this box of cereal has a surprise in it. The surprise is the fact that this lunation is more significant than most since it involves an eclipse. These occur annually, i.e., one lunar eclipse and one solar eclipse, at the Full and New Moons, respectively. The New Moon eclipse will generally kick off a new phase of some sort that will last until the Full Moon eclipse closes it out approximately six months later. Thus, something important is probably about to start for you in the relationship area, as this occurs in your 7th House. Bear in mind that this might not necessarily be a romantic relationship, but simply represent the one-on-one variety, which could also include a close friend or perhaps a new business associate. All this implies that a new association of some sort is likely to assist you in your aspirations, so keep your eyes and ears open. Between February 6 - 9 Mercury will be in a somewhat scratchy aspect with Uranus in your Natural 8th House of sex, personal transformation, and other people's money. <Insert a few classless chuckles here.> This could cause a disruption or surprise of some sort that could be a nuisance or simply annoying, but with so many favorable aspects out there, this shouldn't be any more than a speed bump at most, so don't over-react. However, it is worthy of note that the Sun, who also happens to be your sign ruler, will join Uranus <snicker snicker> in Pisces on the 20th, implying that this area of your life deserves some attention. This is generally a pretty no-nonsense house, so I'll ditch the bad jokes and leave it up to you to figure out what needs to be done, because you probably already know. If you've been mishandling something and need to make some serious changes or some sort, here's your first kick-start from the Zodiac to git 'r' dun. And yes, there's a second kick in the wazoo as well. This will occur between February 22 - 27 when the Sun opposes Saturn, who's retrograde across the Zodiac in Virgo. Saturn, as you may or may not recall, is quite the task-master of the Zodiac. He's all about authority, responsibility, obligations, delays as we acquire wisdom, and ambition. Virgo is your Natural 2nd house of possessions, finances and pleasures. No doubt there is something in this area of your life that you need to learn, and Saturn is there to do the tutoring. In the full light of your personal friend, the Sun, this is undoubtedly a time to take a long, hard look at something in this area. The Full Moon on the 20th, which is also an eclipse and thus more meaningful than the usual lunation, is just a few degrees up Virgo Avenue from Saturn, throwing even more light on this venue. Fortunately, a Full Moon, especially when it's an eclipse, usually signals the culmination of something. Whether this "something" is good, bad, or ugly depends a lot on how all this hits your own Natal Chart, but more than likely it is going to be significant. There's a possibility that until you take care of business in this area, that you may not progress in the others, so it's in your best interest to not blow this one off without strong justification that it doesn't apply to you. I realize that Leos are a royal breed, regardless of what your asset/liability ratio may be, but you know your imperfections, even if you otherwise kept them carefully hidden from the rest of the world; or at least you like to think you do. At any rate, give this one some serious consideration or it might bite you later. The universe will only give you so many hints, then leaves you to your fate if you don't take care of business. Also in effect during the first week of the month is a very nice conjunction in Capricorn, your Natural 6th House of work, health and pets. This involves two benefic planets, i.e. Venus and Jupiter, who'll be having all sorts of fun during this time. You can't get a lucky omen much better than those two doing a dos-à-dos just about anywhere. If you've been needing some luck in this area, well here it is, in spades. The only possibly bad influence this could have would be provide a tendency to over-indulge in finery, but in this practical house this will hopefully not be the case. In fact, it should be very conducive to revamping your diet and exercise regimen or possibly bring you a stroke of luck on the job that may even involve a promotion or raise. Venus rules our love life, pleasures, possessions and finances (and if that sounds like 2nd house keywords, you're correct as the two work together); Jupiter expands and escalates what he touches, so doing the math on that one definitely sounds favorable. Use that Mars energy and other aspects noted above to make sure you take advantage of this one in any way you can. On February 18, Venus will slip into Aquarius, your already-active 7th House of relationships. Needless to say the presence of the Goddess of Love in this house should be favorable. She'll be getting together with Mercury in that venue from February 22 through the end of March, which will make your communications particularly favorable in your relationships. This should assist your efforts in this area, needless to say, especially since by then Mercury will be direct. You may encounter an annoyance or blip of some sort around the 29th, but this should be short-lived and may even work to your advantage. This month should show some heavy emphasis in the work/health, relationship, personal transformation and finances areas of your life. There are some pretty lucky aspects out there that should work to your advantage if you do your homework properly. Listen to the planets and what they're trying to tell you. They have an amazing knack for finding the hidden flaw in us all and then guiding us toward the growth we need to achieve. Once we learn a lesson, we have the equivalent of an astrological flu shot and similar transits in the future are less likely to have an effect. Thus, if there's anything you need to take care of, do so while the planets are lending you a helping hand. Aries|Taurus|Gemini|Cancer|Leo|Virgo|Libra|Scorpio|Sagittarius|Capricorn|Aquarius|Pisces |
