March 2008 Astrocast

Key Events:

New Moon:  03/07/2008

Full Moon: 03/21/2008

RX Planets:  Saturn until 05/03

There are two major themes in work this month, one of which involves your Sign Ruler, Pluto, and Scorpio's ancient ruler, Mars.  The other involves the meanderings of Mercury and Venus, who just happen to be traveling together in a nice cozy conjunction that will last until nearly the middle of April.  The general effect of this will be somewhat like going to charm school for free.  Mercury is all about communications, gathering data, and our thoughts while Venus tends to take care of some of our rough edges and can even make us more appealing to others.  Of course, the final result will depend a lot on which of your Natural Houses they're traversing and how that connects with your Natal Chart.

That Mercury - Venus journey starts out as a somewhat itchy aspect with Jupiter that will last until approximately March 6.  This g gas giant is currently hanging out in Capricorn, your Natural 3rd House of thoughts, short journeys and neighborhood.  Since Jupiter and Venus are considered benefic planets and Mercury largely neutral, this really shouldn't be anything to worry about.  Given that the happy couple is in Aquarius, your 4th House of home environment, it looks to me as if this might manifest as some talkative or annoying neighbor paying you a visit and attempting to entertain you with his latest fish stories.  Your best bet is to be prepared with some of your own and that's likely to send him off in short order.  While we're talking about Jupiter, I may as well also include the fact that he's getting his big butt lined up with Uranus in a sextile aspect that will last from the beginning of March through roughly June 18.  Being a Scorpio, I'm sure all those not-too-subtle innuendos didn't go unnoticed.

At any rate, a sextile usually brings an opportunity of some description, and with Uranus in your 5th House of creativity, children and love affairs, that's likely to translate into some expansive ideas of a creative nature that could turn out to be quite beneficial.  Uranus is the planet of change, surprises, and unexpected events, which is, of course, unpredictable by nature, so it's hard to make the call sometimes on whether it will be good or bad.  However, in a nice soft (or friendly) aspect and with a nice couple like we're dealing with here, it should be something pleasant.  Between March 4 - 14 the Sun will conjoin Uranus, which will give this a little extra punch during that time.  If your birthday happens to be within a few days either side of November 11, this will be especially fortuitous as it will trine your Natal Sun, another rather friendly aspect.  Throw in the New Moon on the 7th and you really have some powerful aspects pointing to something new and exciting.  So clean the wax out of your ears, Scorpions, and listen up so you can pay attention to anything that comes along either between March 4 - 14 with some real emphasis on the 7th, or even over the next few months that not only rings your chimes but possibly hits the jackpot as well.  I need to mentioned here that the 5th House also comprises entertainment and speculation, so it might be a good time to plan a little trip to your favorite casino or even pick up a lotto ticket or two.  (If I turn out to be right on this one, I expect you to let me know.  I'm always looking for testimonials from satisfied clients and if this turned out in your favor I would certainly hope to win your loyalty.)

Mercury and Venus' next stop will be a conjunction with Neptune between March 3 - 13.  This will also occur in your 4th House of home environment and looks like it could also translate to some rather pleasant inspiration.  Notice that this is around the same timeframe as all that good stuff noted above.  I know that Scorpios are pretty good at reading between the lines, so I won't nag any further, but it looks like some seriously good things could be coming your way during that time.  One little caution on this Neptune aspect, however, for those of you with birthdays between November 5 - 15.  This aspect will form a square with your Natal Sun, which usually denotes a conflict or crisis.  Neptune can bring inspiration, but he can also bring delusion and illusion.  Before you make any big decisions or open your wallet, make absolutely certain you have all the facts.  You have as much natural discernment as anyone out there, so make sure your radar is deployed and above all you go with your gut.  You love other people's money, but just make sure that wishful thinking or greed isn't driving your decisions more than reality.  This is not to say it won't be real, only that there's a possibility, so use your superior intuition and ability to discover secrets and hidden information of all kinds to make sure you have all you need to know to make a sound decision.

After that, between March 11 - 18, our friendly inner planet couple will throw a sextile to none other than your sign ruler, Pluto.  Pluto is also in Capricorn and if you're an October-born Scorpio, this will create a nice sextile pattern for you, making it even stronger.  This could give your thoughts and creativity another boost of some sort, perhaps by helping you find exactly the information you need to make something work or stumbling on the right person to help you out.  During this time, Mercury and Venus will be slipping into Pisces and thus moving from your 4th House of home environment to your 5th of creativity and such.  If you've been thinking of remodeling or redecorating, this could bring you some very useful energy.

The dynamic duo's next contact will be a trine to Mars between March 12 - 21.  Mars is over there in your 9th House of legal matters, higher education, long distance travel, politics and religion.  This will direct that creative energy in that direction and with Mars in the equation should throw some extra energy into it as well, though Mars isn't quite as fiery as usual while immersed in soggy Cancer.  Nonetheless, this should be another good thing.  Again, those of you born in the last week of October will benefit the most from this as it will create a Grand Water Trine that could bring a very satisfying emotional element to bear as well.  Creativity usually benefits substantially from an infusion of emotion, so tie it all together to bring something wonderful your way.

The next aspect these two will make will be an opposition to Saturn between March 13 - 18.  As a rule, Saturn is far from cheerful, but he's very useful for such stuffy things as sanity checks.  He's currently hanging out in Virgo, your 11th House of friends, coworkers, organizations, groups, and hopes and wishes.  His function while in that venue will be to bring more responsibility and structure to this part of your life.  Venus and Mercury are likely to help this along in a positive way, though it could cause a tug-o-war of some sort.  It could possibly simply make you have to choose between whatever project or creative endeavor you've trying to develop versus socializing with your friends or participating with any organizations you support.  This is likely to pit responsibility and obligation against what you'd rather be doing for yourself, so weigh the cost carefully.  Make sure before you bow out of anything you'd promised to do that you won't tick off someone that could help you with your own project later.

Now that I've told you all the wonderful things in store during March, now it's time to move on to the aspects that aren't quite as friendly.  This looks like a month of some serious oppositions.  From the beginning of March, Pluto and Mars will be in opposition.  Until March 5, Mars will be in Gemini, your 8th House of sex, death & regeneration, transformation, and other people's money.  If these sound like things of particular interest to you it's because Scorpio presides over the Universal 8th House.  Mars will thus be stirring things up in that part of your life for a few days while Pluto is stirring up something in your thoughts or neighborhood that needs to be resolved.  This could result in a confrontation of some sort.  If you owe anyone money, don't be surprised if you hear from them and then have to decide how to handle it as that money may be needed somewhere else.

Then from March 18 - 25 the Sun positions himself right between the two, creating a T-Square.  This is right about the time that the Sun slips into Aries, which represents your 6th House of work, health, and pets.  This will set up a conflict or crisis of some sort, more than likely at work, that ties into that opposition.  Of course it's no revelation that work has a way of interfering in our life, so that shouldn't be anything terribly profound.  And the planets aren't done with you yet, because the Full Moon on the 21st will be in Libra, your 12th House of dreams, inspiration, spirituality and hidden enemies, and with the Moon opposite the Sun, and Mars opposite Pluto, all in Cardinal Signs, you wind up with a Cardinal Grand Cross.  With the houses and planetary players involved, it looks like it could be an ethical dilemma of some description that you'll have to address.  Fortunately, the Moon moves on her way quite quickly, the Sun will move far enough to break out of the T-Square, and will just hang onto that Square with Mars until around April 5.  In a nutshell, expect to deal with something that ties in these areas of your life during most the month; the areas could differ depending on your Natal Chart as well, but there's going to be something less than enchanting to deal with.  Few things comes entirely out of the blue, so you may already have an idea what's looming on the horizon.

Between March 22 - 26, the Sun will quincunx Saturn, which is likely to call for an adjustment of some sort, probably at work and involving your coworkers.  Maybe someone will be on vacation, quit, or get transferring, leaving you with extra work to do.  This shouldn't be a big deal, just another one of those things we have to deal with all the time in this game we call life.

The parting shot from Venus and Mercury will be a conjunction with Uranus between March 24 - 29.  As previously noted, Uranus is by nature unpredictable and brings change and surprise our way when we least expect it.  Again, Venus and Mercury shouldn't bring anything negative to the party, and hopefully this will bring some more pleasant news to whatever creative project you're working on, whether it involves a special project, your children, or your love life in some way.

Needless to say this looks like a very eventful month.  There's some really good stuff out there and probably some challenges as well.  If there's one thing the Universe does quite well it's assure that we always have a mix of good and bad in our life and that we're never lacking for challenges.  Whobeda's wish for you is that when all is said and done that you have many great things to remember about this month.  And don't forget to let me know if you win the lotto.
