This month there will be a couple aspects that will be in effect for the entire month.  One involves Pluto, who recently moved into Capricorn, your Natural 9th House of higher education, long-distance travel, beliefs (including politics and religion), and legal matters.  Pluto moves about as fast as a hound dog on an August afternoon, so is going to be hanging out in that vicinity until November 2024.  No, that's not a typographical error.  2024.  During that time he'll be doing his Zodiacal Roto-rooter routine relative to all those aforementioned issues related to your 9th House.  If there is anything in one of those areas that isn't quite in order, or, heaven forbid, you're trying to hide, you can bet that it's either going to get corrected or aired on CNN, one or the other.  Pluto is all about transformations.  He can make a helluva mess doing his job, but when all is said and done, things get resolved.  It may be about as pleasant as a root canal at the time, but once the cap is in place, you're as good as new.  Sorta.

So this is what you get to look forward to until 2024.  Don't complain to me, I don't control the planets, I just try to keep you informed on what to expect.  And on this one, you are screwed.  Not really, but if you try to resist, believe me it will be futile.  The more you try to deny or ignore something, the more difficult it will be.  In fact, if there is nothing out of order in any of these areas, you'll hardly notice a thing.  And Pluto transits can yield a lot of power, if properly used.  But if you get the feeling someone is dredging up old dirt and it fits in one of the above categories, you know who to blame.

That said, I actually have some relatively good news.  During May, Pluto will be in cahoots with Saturn, who's cruising along in Virgo, your 5th House of creativity, ego, children, romance, entertainment and speculation.  Saturn isn't exactly the party boy of the cosmos any more than Pluto, but the good news, if there is any, is that at least the aspect between these two somewhat dismal planets is a nice, harmonious trine, meaning their energies will blend in a positive manner.  Now it's up to you to figure out how these two Houses, planets, and Signs will interact in your particular life.

As an example, Saturn in your house of creativity could give you the discipline and ambition you need to put together one of your ideas in a marketable manner.  Throw that together with Pluto in your 9th House, and you might have some real luck doing some patent research to make your idea profitable.  Or maybe you'll take those Saturn qualities, which are colored with Virgo's eye for detail and perfectionism, and really put your portfolio in shape.  Being a Taurus, this could involve some land deals which, in today's economy, represent quite a bargain.  Closing a contract falls in the 9th House and with Pluto there, no rock will be left unturned.  In other words, if there are any liens or other encumbrances, they will be found.  Of course if you're trying to sell land, this may not be in your favor, but knowing you, when the market is as bad as it is right now, selling is not exactly a thought you're entertaining.  Maybe you'll finally decide you need to go back to school.  Pluto can help you figure out what you want to study and then do a damn good job of it, especially anything that requires research.  And Saturn in Virgo will undoubtedly help you fill out all those financial aid forms with a creative flair.  So, hopefully, you get the idea.  Mix and match and see what works for your life.

Note that during the first week of May you'll get a little extra boost in all this as Venus, your Sign Ruler, moves through your 1st House of personality and creates a Grand Earth Trine with Pluto and Saturn.  This should enhance your personal charm in a significant way that could be of considerable assistance in accomplishing just about anything, whether or not it has to do with any of that other stuff.  Put it to good use.

Another aspect in effect during May is a sextile between Jupiter and Uranus.  Jupiter is also in Capricorn along with Pluto, but Jupiter tends to expand and exaggerate, usually in a good way, unless he imparts inappropriate over-confidence.  Naturally this fits reasonably well into the beliefs resident in the 9th House, especially those of a political nature with all that's going on this year in that venue.  Uranus, who's in your 11th House of groups, associations, friends, hopes and wishes, is the planet of surprises, unexpected events, and change.  This could imply some involvement with political parties, or if that's really not of interest to you, it could also relate to that going back to school issue noted earlier; perhaps a group or association of some description will grant you some unexpected financial assistance, or maybe you'll discover some new friends or even hopes and wishes that could be within reach as a result of the decision to go back to school.  Maybe you've been wanting to take a trip abroad and something will come along that assists that endeavor.  A sextile usually bring an opportunity, so this should be a good thing.  Keep your eyes and ears open and see what comes along.  During the first week of the month there could be a bit of opposition to all this.  You're usually a pretty patient sort, but you may want to pursue something else that doesn't require that much commitment.  Just take your time, like you usually do, gather all your facts and then make your decision.

Worthy of note is the fact that for most of this month the Sun is in your Sign.  More than likely you already knew that since your birthday has either just recently passed or is coming up in May.  This is your solar return period, which means you're starting a new cycle.  There is no better time to take a good, hard look at your life, where you're headed, and if you think you're going in the right direction.  The Sun in Taurus will bring extra attention your way, and the New Moon on May 5th implies something new is coming along of a personal nature.

On thing to look out for late in the month is the fact that Mercury will once more enter one of his obnoxious retrograde (RX) periods between May 26 - June 19.  During this time communications of all sorts will be honked up, including cell phones, computers, human conversations and so forth.  Mechanical devices may not function properly, either.  Since this will be occurring in your 2nd House of possessions, don't be surprised if something goes on the blink and requires replacement.  It's not a very good time to buy anything in one of those categories, however, because that seems to put a curse on the items in aeternum, i.e. forever.  Thus, if anything goes on the fritz, don't buy a new one until after June 19.  If it's your car that craps out, I seriously suggest you rent one until then.  Buying a car during Mercury RX is what lemons are made of.

Needless to say you should have quite a bit to think about this month.  It's a good time to take a look at your life when you're starting a new cycle, anyway, and there are some opportunities out there for the taking.  Don't expect them to fall into your lap, though this is always a possibility.  Nonetheless, don't take it for granted.  If any of those things mentioned ring a bell, now is the time to move on them.  Though that Pluto stuff in general is going to be in effect for a long, long time.
