Retrograde Planets

Uranus until November 27, 2008

There will be a lot of astrological activity this month that relates to not only the face your show the world, but also your spiritual self.  On November 27, once again you can celebrate as Pluto once again goes into Capricorn, this time for good.  He left in January, only to return via retrograde motion so he could finish cleaning up some unfinished business.  You should feel his exit that is best expressed as a sigh of relief.  Nonetheless, he did some good work while there and you're likely to be an entirely different person than you were prior to his sojourn in Sagittarius, which began in 1995.  Now he'll be plodding along in your 2nd House of possessions, pleasures, and finance until November 2024.  In today's economic climate that should make for some interesting circumstances.  Thus, if there's anything amiss in that part of your life, you can bet that Pluto, the auditor from Hell, will find it and bring it to your attention.  If all is well, this will provide an opportunity for you to examine that part of your life closer than you ever thought possible.  Your instincts and ability to discern hidden information will be enhanced and when all is said and done you'll not only be quite a bit older but considerably wiser.

Another long-term aspect that kicks off in November is an opposition between Saturn and Uranus.  The outer planets, i.e. Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto, move slowly and deliberately through the various houses of your horoscope, shedding their influence there in a manner that gradually moves you along the path of life, encountering the experiences you need to progress.  The Sun, Moon, and inner planets such as Mercury, Venus and Mars move a lot quicker and influence the daily occurrences, though they work against the background set by the outer planets.  Saturn, planet of responsibility, discipline, delays, authority figures (including your father) and boundaries, is in Virgo, your 10th House of career and reputation.  Saturn spends about two and a half years in each sign and he'll be in Virgo until October 2009 with a return trip between April and July 2010.  It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that Saturn and your house of career and reputation are a pretty good match.  In fact, Saturn rules the zodiacal 10th house, so he's quite at home there.  Thus, for the past several years, you have probably experienced some interesting things careerwise.

Now enter Uranus, planet of disruptions, sudden change, innovation, rebellion and unexpected events.  Needless to say, he and Saturn are about as diametrically opposed in principle as two planets can be, except maybe for Mars and Neptune.  Uranus is in Pisces, your 4th House of home environment, which he first entered in March 2003.  He slipped out a brief return to Aquarius between September and December 2003, which may have provided a bit of a break, but now he's back until May 2010 when he goes into Aries.  And you guessed it, he'll slip back for a visit between August 2010 and March 2011 before leaving for good.  Thus, Uranus spends about 7 years in a sign, though he's more than halfway through his trek at this time.  All that aside, what this tells me is that the past several years things as home have been fairly chaotic.

So what happens when you pit stable, stern Saturn in your house of career against unconventional and unpredictable Uranus in your home environment?  Right offhand I'd dare say that you've been under a considerable amount of stress already from these transits alone, but on November 4, when those two are in opposition, this interaction will be even more dramatic.  During about this same time, lovely Venus will park herself right between these two bad boys, emitting her charms as only Venus can do.  Interestingly enough, this will occur in your 1st House of personality, imbuing you with an incredible amount of charm and panache.  This will enable you to use your superior intellect to balance these two forces in a very efficient manner.  It also implies that whatever those two big boys are up to, it will ultimately work to your advantage in some way.

During this same time, Mercury will be busy providing more information to help you along.  This won't be something you'll encounter in the Wall Street Journal, but old, hidden issues that relate to your hopes and wishes.  Inspiration is likely to follow and could even come in the form of strange dreams.  If you have been delusional in any way, Mars, the Sun and Mercury will be giving you sanity checks all month, as well, as they throw a square to Neptune in your 3rd house of thoughts, ideas, neighbors, and short journeys.  Neptune is dreamy, illogical, and not very prone to reality, even those he can provide excellent inspiration.  Getting too carried away, however, can be detrimental.  Venus will step in to soften this effect, probably by enhancing your natural enthusiasm and optimism, which could bring an opportunity your way.

From November 10 - 13, expect even more activity in that career - home environment tug-o-war, though this is likely to be positive as the Sun highlights these areas in a favorable way, plus shines his light on your Sign Ruler, Jupiter, who's currently in your 2nd House of possessions, finance, and pleasures.  This sounds like a possible raise or bonus, or maybe even a new job opportunity that could very well originate in your dreams.  Remember how Mr. Kellogg dreamed of corn flakes then went off and made a fortune with them?  I'm not promising you anything of that caliber, but you never know.  Money may dampen your enthusiasm, but keep everything in its proper perspective while you're thinking things through.

If any old baggage is holding you back, that should surface around the 12th, followed by another financial opportunity that will originate at home.  This time the Sun will be keeping Neptune's delusions in check, so you'll have quite a lot to consider during this time.  The Full Moon on the 13th occurs in Taurus, your 6th House of work, health and pets.  This is certainly very interesting with all that action in your house of career and reputation.  Bear in mind that work and career are not the same thing.  We often earn our paycheck in a way that we don't consider a career, such as those where we say "Do you want fries with that?"  That may be your day job while you compose brilliant music in your off hours.  How you leave your mark on the world is associated with your career.  The lucky ones get paid for this and maybe you're headed in that direction as well, since a Full Moon indicates a culmination or shifting to a new phase.

November 16 - 17, Mercury will be throwing more data your way again, also in a positive manner and related to that career/home situation.  This should bring some information your way relative to finances that will also include an opportunity.  This time Mercury will also take care of Neptune and keep him in line so you don't go off half-cocked with some crazy idea.  On the 21st, Jupiter will trine Saturn, which sounds really promising for making some money with your career.  On the 25th, the Sun and Mercury get together, in your sign, no less, which should make your ability to communicate formidable.  The New Moon on the 27th is guess where?  In your 1st house of personality, indicating something new coming along on a personal level.  Then on the 28th, more good news on the homefront, perhaps involving the purchase of something new.  On the 29th, you'll be brimming with energy and the ideas may be coming faster than you can keep up with them.  Now is a good time to plan your course by making a detailed plan of where you want to go.  More financial blessings are on the way on the 30th and by the 1st of December, you should encounter even more good news on the financial front, and that's saying something these days.

This certainly looks like a good month to be a Sagittarius.  If you've had some hard times the past few years you may not even believe that things are starting to open up for you again.  The one thing good about planetary transits is that they do keep moving, even though sometimes they seem to last forever.  You encounter with Pluto is nearly over and he's given you a strong sense of your personal power that you didn't have before.  Now is when you put all that to work and move forward with a vengeance.  Bon chance, mon ami!
