This month there is quite a variety of influences out there that will trigger activity in such areas as your 2nd House of possessions, finance, and pleasures; your 3rd House of thoughts, ideas, short journeys and neighborhood; and some long-term influences affecting you and your relationships. The Full Moon occurs on the 14th in your 8th House of transformations, implying that you'll have a new outlook that has evolved over the past month on something. One thing you need to remember is that your Sign Ruler, Mercury, is retrograde through October 14. Thus, don't buy anything new until after that, if you can possibly avoid it, though this is a good time to make repairs. Rethinking or re-planning your investments is also favored. Just don't expect to move forward during that time as it will be an exercise in futility. This will also incline your mechanical and electronic items to go on the fritz, so don't be surprised when your cell phone, TV, computer, or auto messes up in some way.

An aspect in effect all month that will affect you on the personal level is a configuration known as a Triangle of Potential that involves, Saturn, Uranus and Jupiter. Saturn is in your 1st House of personality and has been for just over a year. Saturn is a stern task-master who has probably been teaching you a few things that were less than pleasant. If you need any structure, discipline, or a greater sense of responsibility introduced into your life, then you're being tutored accordingly.

During this month, Saturn will be opposite Uranus, who's in your 7th House of relationships. Personal needs versus how much we put into or sacrifice for a relationship are ongoing challenges for us all. Uranus is the planet of change, disruptions, unexpected events, and surprises of all sorts and he's been plodding through your relationships since March 2003. Thus, over the past five years you've probably seen a lot of upsets in this area. Saturn and Uranus have very different natures, so when they face off in an opposition you can expect a tug-o-war of some description between stability and instability.

Jupiter comes into the picture from your 5th House of ego, romance, children, creativity, entertainment, and speculation. Jupiter usually brings along good luck and expansion, which will tie into Saturn and Uranus in a positive manner. This implies that expanding your activity in your 5th House can be the solution for whatever negotiations are going on between yourself and your relationships. Remember that astrologically relationships include not only your significant other but your close friends and relatives as well as business associates. If you own your own business, it also includes your patrons. Maybe creativity or self-expression is your answer though it could just as easily be you need to spend more time relaxing. At any rate, if you're trying to solve a relationship dilemma of some description, look to one of those 5th House elements for the answer. From October 3 - 11, however, the Sun will square Jupiter. As noted earlier, Jupiter is usually benefic with his worst effect over-confidence or exaggeration. Thus, when you look in that direction for an answer to those other challenges, bear that in mind and don't get too carried away.

The first week of the month Mars will sextile Pluto, which will affect your possessions and home environment in some way. The good news is that a sextile usually represents an opportunity, though Mars and Pluto aren't exactly known for their benevolence. Mars in your 2nd House can often mean that things break down and Pluto in your 4th House often unearths hidden problems that can range from plumbing problems to cockroach invasions. Needless to say, neither of these are particularly auspicious. In some cases what would ordinarily be considered a positive aspect simply means that two bad actors get together and cause trouble, sort of like you and that friend you had in junior high with whom you had a lot of fun but consistently got into trouble.

If you're one of the unfortunate folks affected by Hurricane Ike, this could well represent the aftermath and cleanup from that, particularly pertaining to damage or problems that aren't obvious. For example, my home seemed to weather the storm quite well except for the fact that my refrigerator decided to quit, apparently taken out by a power surge as electricity was restored; my bad for not unplugging it. Thus, check for things like hidden damage caused by power surges, standing water in unlikely locations, and so forth. From October 19 - 28 the Sun will sextile Pluto, which should help bring anything to light that requires attention.

From October 10 - 18 the Sun will trine Neptune. This should bring some inspiration your way relative to your work that could also have an affect on your earning power. Virgos tend to be good with their hands so maybe you'll come up with a fresh idea that could make you some money. It could also relate to your health or fitness in some way. At any rate, pay attention to what comes your way, the matter how strange it may seem, as there is probably a positive message in there somewhere. During roughly this same time, from October 22 - 31, Mars will sextile Jupiter, which will also help generate some creative ideas, so it looks like a good time to do some brainstorming. The New Moon on the 28th will further reinforce the fact that something new is coming along in this area.

As you can see this will be a busy month. People and things are going to be taking most of your time, plus your Sign Ruler is doing the backstroke. Frustrations are likely, but there are opportunities and new ideas within reach as well. Thus, look past the many imperfections that will be assaulting you like a mosquito swarm and determine what needs to be done to improve your life on an entirely different level.
