The action for Cappies this month is going to be largely in your 8th House of sex, death and regeneration, transformation, and other people's resources, which will ease into your 9th House of beliefs, legal matters, higher education and long distance travel as the month progresses. A New Moon in Leo, your 8th House, kicks things off on August 1. New Moons always indicate a new beginning of some description and this one has even more punch since it's also a solar eclipse, meaning it will initiate something that will be in force for approximately six months, until the next Full Moon eclipse closes it out. The 8th House covers some pretty serious stuff, but that certainly doesn't mean that it's a bad thing. Transformations of all varieties are covered there and these life-changing insights and events are among the richest experiences we enjoy in life. Thus, something about your life is about to change in some way, even if it's only your attitude toward it, so keep your eyes and mind open for indications of what it might be. If your birthday is within a few days one way or another of December 31, this will have even more impact and is likely to relate to a creative endeavor of some type and your dedication to bring it to fruition. The first few days of the month will also involve a conjunction between Mercury and the Sun. This will stimulate your thinking and start nudging you in the direction you need to go. Pay attention to your thoughts, even the most random and outrageous ones, and don't miss anything without giving it some serious consideration. If you've felt stuck in the mud lately, this might be the tractor you need to haul you out. During this same time Venus is going to be creating an aspect known as a Triangle of Potential with Neptune and Pluto. Friendly Venus, who not only influences our relationships but our finances as well, will trine Pluto who's back in your 12th House of inspiration, dreams and spirituality. This will stir up something deep inside you that has either been neglected or overlooked for a long time relative to your deeper side. Pluto, in turn, is sextile Neptune, which will generate some inspiration or new insights that, if given proper heed, will lead to an opportunity in your 2nd House of possessions, finances and pleasures. This is all happening in Signs and Houses that are out of the usually stable and predictable Cappy box. Neptune is also opposite Venus, however, completing the triangle, and throwing in a hard aspect to make things interesting. Dreamy Neptune and friendly Venus would ordinarily be quite compatible, but Neptune can also throw out a trip-wire in the form of delusions or idealism. In this case, they may not be what you'd expect, however, since maybe your delusions are self-imposed and Neptune is really trying to show you a different path, which you're resisting. Remember that Venus is in your House of transformations and Neptune in your House of possessions and finance. If things in this area have been unsatisfactory, it's time for a change, but it might not be the usual, predictable and stable change you'd prefer. Letting go and following inspiration isn't easy for a Cappy, but you need to give it some serious consideration. The key to utilizing a Triangle of Potential lies at the apex of the positive aspects, which in this case is Pluto, the planet who rules transformations in your house of spirituality. Think long and hard about what lesson this triad is trying to teach you and how you may be better off if you listen carefully. Think about that scene in the original Star Wars movie where Luke was admonished to "listen to your feelings" and to use the Force as opposed to doing it all himself. Then, if the shoe fits, wear it. While all this other stuff is going on, Mars will oppose Uranus, which will last until roughly August 12. Energetic Mars is in your 9th House of legal matters, academia, long distance travel, and beliefs while Uranus, planet of surprises and the unexpected, is in Pisces, your 3rd House of thoughts, ideas, neighbors and short journeys. This implies an unexpected conflict or problem between these areas, perhaps a problem with a neighbor or even a clash between an idea or thought inspired by that New Moon with your core beliefs. It could even be related to what's required to get some new idea off the ground or could manifest as some unanticipated problems related to travel. From August 10 - 24 Mars will square Pluto. As you're probably aware, a square denotes a challenge or crisis of some sort, Mars is the god of war and Pluto the god of the underworld. Pluto is in your 12th House, which besides all the woo-woo stuff also includes hidden enemies. This has all the making of someone trying to undermine you or your efforts in some way, so watch your six. During about that same time the Sun will oppose Neptune, which will once again highlight that financial business and possible transformation noted earlier. Oddly enough, the 8th House also includes other people's resources, a.k.a. investors, lenders, and so forth, so if you're trying to borrow money be sure to not only read the fine print but make sure you understand it or it might bite you later. Coincident with much of this, between August 13 - 31, Venus and Mercury will be in a bear hug in Virgo, your 9th House of legal matters, beliefs, academia, and so forth. Combining the energy of these two should generate some pleasant ideas related to this area of your life, which could have financial implications. For example, if you've been trying to figure out how you can afford to go back to school, this should be the answer. This energy will peak on August 20, so tune into the aspect then to see what you can pick up. The second New Moon this month on the 30th will provide even more energy toward opening up a new door of some sort in this venue. It won't be as powerful as the New Moon eclipse on the 1st, but should herald a new beginning of some sort nonetheless. The Full Moon occurs on the 16th in Aquarius, your 2nd House of finance, and in conjunction with Neptune, which should provide a nice shot of inspiration. This lunation is also an eclipse, but in this case it should close out something that got started about six months ago with the last New Moon eclipse. This Full Moon comes with a nice Grand Earth Trine that will provide a nice infusion of stable energy that could provide you with the foundation you need to move forward on this next phase of your life. Players include expansive Jupiter in your 1st House of personality; Vesta, asteroid of service and dedication, in your 5th House of creativity, children and romance; and Venus, Mercury, and Saturn in your 9th of beliefs, etc. From August 17 - 26 the Sun will trine Pluto. This will throw some more energy at all that transformational action rumbling about and perhaps give you some insight relative to dropping that old baggage you've been toting around for far too long. As the month winds down, from August 26 - 31, that Mercury/Venus combo will square Pluto. At this point, maybe all those great ideas will hit a wall of resistance that could relate to fears on your part or past experience that didn't turn out well and wants to hold you back. You like control, but as Mark Twain said so eloquently, and far better than I could, "Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." From August 29 - 31, the Sun will conjoin your sign ruler, Saturn, which will either give you an anxiety attack as far as letting go of anything or, conversely, fire you up with enough ambition, replete with the necessary details, to make it work. Your choice, though Jupiter has already been in cahoots with Saturn via a trine from August 20 -31, that will help build your confidence and motivation to move forward. With all that action in your 8th House, you should be a slightly different person by the time August ends. Do your best to let go as much as you dare and get a view of the possibilities. There's some astrological help out there to assist you in recognizing that sometimes you need to advance to the end of the light and step into the dark before you can see what lies ahead. 12 months of your own personalized horoscope only $19.95!
