This month most of the action for Libras will be in Gemini, your 9th House of beliefs (including politics and religion), legal matters, higher education, and long-distance travel. Get this started by using the New Moon on June 3rd to kick-start a new phase of something in this part of your life. New Moons are good for that and what most people don't realize is that planetary energy is there for them to use. In other words, you can utilize this energy in its respective house in a manner of your choosing, or you can just sit there and let the Universe decide for you. This is not to imply that you can control everything, but you can take charge in more areas than you realize. As a Cardinal Sign you're already good at taking charge, so putting this little bit of knowledge in your bag of tricks will assist you even more in accomplishing your goals. So, take a good, hard look at something you want to initiate as far as your 9th House matters are concerned and then go for it.

During most of the month the Sun, Venus, and Mercury will be in this same vicinity, throwing even more energy in that direction. This is fairly typical, in that the New Moon always occurs in the same sign as the Sun since, by definition, a New Moon is a conjunction between those two as seen from Earth. Then, Mercury and Venus usually aren't too far away from the Sun, no more than a sign, at most, since they're between us and the Sun. So every month you get the opportunity to kick off something new in one of your houses with a New Moon then have at least the Sun to shepherd it along for most of the month. Use it or lose it.

This month the Sun and Venus will be in conjunction all month long. Venus, who's considered benefic more often than not, and also happens to be your Sign Ruler, influences our relationships and finances. When she's conjoined with the Sun, however, he can over-power her and throw quite a bit of ego and self-will in the way. Thus, if we're talking about your beliefs, you could tend to be a bit tangled up in your ego in getting them across, or it could get in your way in trying to accomplish any of those other 9th House issues as well. In most cases an extra dose of ego is a good thing for a Libra, but just be aware. As long as you're not being arrogant, it will probably be a good thing in asserting yourself and demanding something for yourself for a change.

From June 2 - 11, the Sun/Venus couple will sextile Mars, who's over there in your 11th House of groups, organizations, friends, hopes & wishes. A sextile usually brings along an opportunity, and with Mars throwing his drive and energy toward your group activities or perhaps pursuing your hopes and wishes, this smells like assistance of some kind coming from one of your friends or associations to assist in achieving a goal, or at least starting to pursue one that's related to going back to school, a long trip, legal matter, or possibly simply reinforcing a new and different view of the world.

During much of that same time frame, from June 8 - 11, Mercury will move into place and conjoin Venus and the Sun. Mercury is currently retrograde (RX), which can be important as far as pursuing those goals. During this time communications do not occur in the usual manner. In fact, they're usually pretty honked up. Cell phones, email, traffic lights, televisions, automobiles, or anything else that conveys goods or information, is going to be stuck in reverse. This is a major pain, but the good news is that it's a good time to redo, rethink, rework, replan, or repair anything that wasn't done exactly right the first time. Thus, if you blew through something without checking your work, the Universe is giving you a second chance to do so. In a way, it's demanding it, since moving forward is likely to be an exercise in futility, anyway. If you have vacation plans, by all means, make sure all your reservations are in place, including stopping the paper and having the neighbor come over to feed your fish. Mercury RX is a time where most people fall into the category of "Brainfarts 'R' Us." Write everything down and remind others if you expect them to do something or it's likely to evaporate into the cosmos. Thus, when you factor this into that Venus/Mars sextile, you can see that those opportunities may be either tied or dependent on something done in the past that needs some review. If things aren't moving forward as you would like, this would be the first place to look.

A disruption or surprise could come along between June 10 - 15 when Venus and the Sun (and perhaps Mercury, though he's a bit on the fringes) square Uranus who's in your 6th House of work, health and pets. Having something come up at work that interferes with our "real life" is pretty typical, and that is what this smells like to me. It could also be a minor illness, like a cold, which could put a damper on your vacation plans. Put Mercury RX to work to make sure you have all your I's dotted and T's crossed at work and take care of yourself physically to minimize this effect as much as you can. It's impossible to second guess Uranus and how he'll play out, but these are some obvious targets over which you have at least a little control.

For the two week period between June 14 - 28, Mars will oppose Neptune. As noted earlier, Mars is in your 11th House of groups and such, giving you some extra energy in this area. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that Mars, god of war, isn't exactly bosom buddies with dreamy, idealistic Neptune, who's strolling along in your 5th House of creativity, children, romance, ego, and entertainment. Neptune can bring inspiration, which certainly doesn't hurt in your house of creativity, those he can also make you too idealistic when it comes to your children or romance. Pit this against whatever you're trying to accomplish regarding organizational activity or your hopes and wishes, and you'll have some idea where this one will play out. Maybe an opportunity will come along to promote one of your creative works, which has been a long-standing hope, but dreamy Neptune has simply floated around giving you lots of ideas that you never got around to implementing. Maybe it's unrealistic, no matter how nice it sounds. Maybe you put your kids or a lover up on a pedestal and they fell off, right in front of your friends. No telling, but getting something done in the real world will conflict with something from a dream world sure as God made little green apples.

During approximately this same time, from June 15 until around June 24, give or take a day or two, that Sun/Venus couple will oppose Pluto, who at that time will be in Sagittarius, your 3rd House of thoughts, ideas, short journeys, and neighbors. Pluto, the Zodiacal Roto-Rooter, had been in that neighborhood for a long time, like we're talking January 1995. In January of this year he slid into Capricorn, but now he's retrograde, which has sent him back into Sag until November. Thus, if there is any unfinished business in this area, you have one last opportunity to complete it. The Full Moon in Sagittarius on the 18th should help as well since a Full Moon usually indicates a culmination, so if it's not the end, it should be the beginning of the end. Remember that Pluto digs up anything that was buried that shouldn't have been and waves it in your face so you can resolve it properly. Since the Sun/Venus combo will be in your 9th House for most of that time, these thoughts, neighbors or whatever that needs an overhaul will relate to your beliefs or whatever 9th House goals you're trying to pursue. It's in your best interest to get this final speedbump out of your way so you can move forward. Remember the principle of Astrological Immunity, which means that in most cases the planets only give us hard lessons when we need them. If we've attained perfection or a reasonable facsimile, the aspect will slide by largely unnoticed.

Toward the end of this period, Venus will slip into Cancer on the 19th and the Sun on the 22nd, shifting their energy to your 10th House of career and reputation. This could set in motion some deep considerations in that area or possibly reveal something you hadn't known or considered before. At any rate, Pluto's influence will be primarily of a mental nature. When he's in places like your 2nd House of possessions or 4th House of home environment he does such things has mess with your plumbing or electrical systems, so be thankful for small favors since as an Air Sign you're comfortable on a landscape that features mental action.

One final aspect to pay attention to this month involves Saturn trining Pluto during most of the month, i.e. until the 25th. Saturn, who is all about discipline, responsibility, obligations, and structure, is in Virgo, your 12th House of dreams, inspiration, spirituality and hidden enemies. Throwing some discipline in that direction is usually a good thing and you've probably noticed an inclination to pay closer attention to this area of your life than you have in the past. During the first half of the month while Pluto is still in Capricorn, this structured inspiration will pertain to your 4th House of home environment. When Pluto backs into Sagittarius, this will be directed once more at mental action. Even those these two planets can be bad actors, in a nice, harmonious trine, these should promote some positive growth and transformation that you won't trade for anything, when all is said and done.

The emphasis this month, as you can see, is largely on mental activities. Some of it promises to be deep and thought provoking, but stimulating, particularly given Libras propensity for fairness, balance, and looking at both sides of an argument. If, perchance, your 9th House emphasis right now falls in the area of long distance travel or higher education, be sure to harness it to get a jump-start in what you're trying to accomplish there. Just remember that Mercury is retrograde until the 19th, so annoying frustrations could taunt you relative to communications until it's over, though this is a good time to review your work.
