This is your month, Libra, as the Sun makes his way through your 1st House of personality. It's also Solar Return time, meaning that on or right around your birthday you'll start a new cycle. Thus, many of the trends you see this month will continue into the next year. The Full Moon on October 14 is in your 7th House of relationships, so something that's been going on in that area of your life should culminate or enter a new phase. Libra rules the zodiacal 7th House so this is an important area of your life. You thrive or wither, depending on how things are going with the people close to you. You especially don't like contention, which will drain your energy in no time.

Note that Mercury is retrograde in your 1st House of personality until October 14. This is likely to inhibit your ability to communicate. You like to talk and usually express yourself well, as most Air Signs do, but this will honk that up a bit. People are likely to give you that deer in the headlights look quite a bit and just not grok what you're trying to say. Also, remember this is a very unfavorable time to buy anything of a mechanical or electronic nature, so don't if you can avoid it. This especially applies to autos. It's a positive time, however, for reworking, re-planning, and redoing an existing project. Moving forward isn't likely, but getting things corrected and put in order is.

There's a planetary configuration known as a Triangle of Potential that will be in effect for all of October. It involves a triad of outer planets including Saturn, Uranus, and Jupiter, which should have a lasting effect on your life in some way. Saturn teaches us various hard but necessary lessons where we need more discipline, responsibility, or structure. He's been hanging out in your 12th House of spirituality, imagination and dreams for over a year, so if you've felt as if a wet blanket has been smothering this part of your life for a while, Saturn is probably your culprit. Needless to say, Saturn's discipline and so forth isn't very compatible with the dreamy/spiritual side of life. Adding some structure wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing, because this could direct you to the path to achieve your dreams, but too much practicality and reality would do a good job of squelching your imagination and any daydreams it may create. While I'm talking about a planet here, bear in mind that often these planetary influences come about through a person, so this could be represented by someone in your life who's a naysayer and keeping you from your dreams. Saturn frequently represents a father figure as well.

This month, however, Saturn will be opposite Uranus, who's slogging along in Pisces, your 6th House of work, health, and pets. Uranus is the planet of disruptions, change, unexpected events and surprises. He's all about instability while Saturn is about stability and these two are faced off with each other. This should be one interesting duel. If you've noticed a lot of disruptions and unpredictability in your work, Uranus is your culprit. If you don't mind that type of environment, great, but if it's getting on your last nerve, it's probably time to take a look at whether or not you're in the right line of work. This planetary dialog, however, is going to be a difficult one. Saturn is over there putting a damper on your dreams and imagination while Uranus is over there messing up your day job. If your frustrations are mounting, Saturn is likely to be telling you that you're stuck, you need the paycheck, and you just need to deal with it because this is as good as it gets. The fact of the matter is that the truth is somewhere in between and up to you to define. In order for good things you happen you need to imagine them first. If work is becoming intolerable, you need to address that, regardless of what Saturn thinks of the matter.

As mentioned earlier, Jupiter is in on this action as well. Jupiter, thank heavens, is a benefic planet who usually brings good luck and expansion our way. He's moving through Capricorn, your 4th House of home environment. Think about how your home environment has changed since last December. Maybe you've moved, added family members, redecorated, or something similar. At any rate, that dreams/work dilemma has an answer somewhere in your home environment. Maybe someone in your household has the advice you need. Another possibility is perhaps you could work from home and avoid some of those work hassles. Maybe structuring you dreams so they can become reality is the answer, but it will require some major changes or disruptions in your relationships. Only you can tell exactly how this all fits together for you, but these are things to consider.

When the Sun trines Neptune between October 10 - 18, your creativity should receive a nice boost. I will help you put on some rose-colored glasses relative to 5th House elements such as children, romance, entertainment and speculation and assist your imagination and ideals in these areas as well. As a trine, this should be a pleasant excursion that you should use to help fire up that imagination that's been being flogged by Saturn.

From October 3 - 11 the Sun will square Jupiter, which implies a conflict or crisis of some sort. This could be the catalyst you're looking for or it could be your own resistance to what needs to be done. In order to get where you want to go you may have to stretch to an uncomfortable degree and only you can decide whether or not its worth it. Libras excel at weighing both sides of a story, but you also tend to be self-effacing. Cut yourself a fair deal on this one and don't let other people's opinions influence you too much. Remember, your happiness is just as important as anyone else's.

During the first week of October Mars will sextile Pluto. Mars starts out the month in your 1st House of personality and will give you a bit of drive that you can use to jump-start any action you need to take, at least until October 5th when he moves into Scorpio, your 2nd House of possessions, finances, and pleasures. Mars moving in on your possessions often means something is going to break down or some other problem. This is not the time to leave your car or home unlocked, either, or leave your personal belongings unsecured, if you get my drift.

Pluto is in your 3rd House of thoughts, ideas, short journeys, and neighborhood issues, where he's been enhancing your understanding of various things and perhaps unearthing a few secrets or hidden facts. While a sextile usually brings an opportunity our way, and this could be the case, the fact that these two planets aren't particularly friendly makes me throw a bit of caution in there. Sometimes when planets get together in what appears to be a positive aspect, all it means is that their energy will blend nicely but the result won't always be in your favor. This would be a positive time to take a good, hard look at your investments, but I'd also be extra careful making sure what you currently have is properly protected. From October 19 - 28 the Sun will sextile Pluto, which will bring further light to this area and reveal any relevant facts that could close out whatever gets started the first week of the month.

Mars will sextile Jupiter from October 22 - 31, which may give you the irresistible urge to buy something for your home. Fortunately, this is after Mercury comes out of retrograde, so other than making sure you don't get too carried away, this shouldn't be a bad thing.

This will be a busy month for you, at least mentally and emotionally. There is a lot going on behind the scenes in you life, some of which you may not have noticed or confronted yet. This month make sure you take a good, objective look at where you are and whether you like it or not. Every journey begins with a single step but before that you need to decide where you want to go. As you begin a new cycle, now is the time to figure that out.
