Lunations and Long-term Aspects This month the New Moon falls on February 13 in Aquarius, you 4th House of home environment, which should bring something your way in that part of your life. Those with birthday within a day or so of November 18 are most likely to notice its effects, which will bring a new challenge or situation your way. There seems to be quite a bit going on with this lunation since there are some interesting aspect patterns accompanying it. In particular, there are two overlapping Yods, also known as a Finger of God. It comprises two quincunxes and a sextile, it general meaning that the chance to make an adjustment or course change will lead you to something, perhaps of a fated nature. For example, in a birth chart a Yod typically indicates something special or unique that person will accomplish with his or her life. The first one comprises your Sign Ruler, Pluto, with a conjunction between Jupiter and Venus forming the sextile/base and your ancient ruler, Mars, at the point, or eye as it's usually called. This appears to have some very promising implications for you Scorpios, given the House placement of the planets involved. For starters, Pluto is transiting Capricorn, your 3rd House of thoughts, ideas, neighbors and siblings. Pluto in your house of thoughts and ideas is going to make you even more formidable than you already are with your mental powers. Jupiter and Venus are both benefic planets and in conjunction they indicate even more luck and good fortune. About the only time these two could be a problem would be if they cause over-confidence or over-indulgence and I must warn you that this is something to look out for since they're in your 5th House. This is usually a rather pleasant abode that includes your creativity, self-expression, children, romantic interests, entertainment and speculation. You can and should enjoy yourself here, but some of the alligators in the water include an ego trip or getting too carried away with any of those elements. Since Scorpios tend to obsess, keep tabs on things that you don't mess up what should be a very fortuitous placement. That said, the sextile between Pluto and the Jupiter/Venus pair alone looks like it could bring an outstanding brainstorm of a creative nature in one of those areas. Now let's tie it into Mars who's doing the backstroke in Leo, your 10th House of career and reputation. Mars retrograde typically directs us to unfinished business of some sort, i.e. something we should have taken action on previously but didn't, thus giving us a second chance to "git 'r' done." I also want to remind you of what is included in the 10th House. Usually the first thing that comes to mind is your career, but this is only part of it. This is where you put yourself on display to the public and that can take many forms. It will include your public image and reputation as well as anything that involves your status, which is a rather vague term considering how many things it can indicate. For example, if you get married or divorced, open or close a business, get promoted or fired, get arrested, win a contest or award, graduate from school, etc. these all affect your "status." So using that expanded view, think about anything unfinished that can benefit from some creative thought energy, then go to it. Even more interesting is the second Yod which overlaps the first being as it involves mostly the same planets except for swapping out Pluto for Saturn and thus shifting the eye to the Venus/Jupiter pair. Saturn is also retrograde, which suggests restructuring, and is in your 12th House of inspiration, enlightenment, dreams, spirituality, confinement, institutions, and hidden enemies (probably not too many of them for you discerning Scorpios). The suggestion here is to restructure something in this part of your life, quite possibly relating to your deeper self, and tie that in with whatever needs to be taken care of in your 10th House which in turn will relate to whatever is going on in your 5th House, such as a creative endeavor, something to do with your kids or lovers, or some other enjoyable endeavor. Think about what is going on in your life in these particular Houses and see what opportunities open up for you. Other aspects associated with this lunation worth noting all seem to tie in further with these yods. Mercury, who rules communications and movement, is also in your 4th House of home environment and indicates news or information regarding that unfinished business will have an effect there that will present a challenge or dilemma of an annoying nature, though restructuring something related to your spirituality or other 12th House matters will be beneficial. Pluto and Saturn are still squaring each other, which will be in effect on and off for most of the year. As previously noted, Saturn is in your 12th House where something will be restructured and Pluto is in your 3rd of thoughts and ideas. Squares are not the friendliest of aspects, but Scorpios typically are stimulated by a good challenge and this one has a variety of ramifications that will ultimately benefit you, most likely starting with this New Moon, so put it to good use. The Full Moon on February 28 isn't nearly as exciting as far as interesting aspects are concerned. It occurs in Virgo, your 11th House of goals, friends, group interactions and organizational ties, indicating something in that part of your life will draw to a close or shift to a new phase. The Sun and Jupiter are conjunct in fellow Water Sign, Pisces, continuing the theme of something coming up in your 5th House of self-expression, children, romance and so forth as described earlier. It appears that something is developing in that area even as something else draws to a close. News or information pertaining to your homelife is further suggesting a change of course with respect to whatever you need to redo or take care of regarding your status or reputation, also described above. The Lunar North Node is in Capricorn and sextile Venus, suggesting a new idea that could have financial benefits, will come your way, which could also involve a neighbor or sibling and could also simply indicate a pleasant day trip of some sort. At any rate, it looks like a very interesting month so keep that superior Scorpio radar fully deployed for developments of a very interesting nature. Daily and Short-Term Aspects February 5 - 7: A change of course or adjustment is called for that involves you at a very personal level, i.e. something that means a lot to you. Pay attention to your dreams and deepest feelings for indicators of what this might be. Don't dismiss any seemingly crazy ideas that come to mind without a thorough investigation of their feasibility. Your creativity will be in high gear this month as well as various other situations and opportunities that relate to numerous things you enjoy. If you're an artistic type, some serious inspiration can come at this time. You are also likely to feel a strong sense of selfless love toward those around you and/or enjoy some serious inspiration regarding beautifying your environment. However, recognize that this may not be real or practical so don't make any serious decisions about relationships or your finances at this time. February 10 - 11: A change of course is called for with respect to something that means a lot to you and whatever you've been neglecting or procrastinating that affects your status. Mercury enters Aquarius on the 10th, which will facilitate communications and ideas regarding your home environment. On the 11th Venus goes into Pisces, which will bring her blessings to your creativity, self-expression, children and romance. February 12: Give some serious thought to redoing something related to your status (remember the expanded definition of this given above) or taking care of unfinished business. There is some serious astrological assistance out there for you today so put it to good use. As a Fixed Sign you don't like to embrace change, but there are a few things related to your home environment that could benefit from some changes. Take a close look at how you feed your soul, especially if it may be suffering from malnutrition. February 13: New Moon today as described above. February 14: Happy Valentine's Day! Venus, the Goddess of Love, is busy today in various respects, including astrologically. She is trying to get you to make a few adjustments, perhaps even change your current course. Other influences could make you exceptionally loving and giving and greatly in-tune with others, though your sense of reality is likely to be extremely challenged, so don't make any major decisions today. Conversely, you may feel detached and need to be alone, giving you another opportunity to examine your spiritual life. February 15: Another good day for deep and penetrating thought with regard to those things that mean the most to you. Look for opportunities to enhance them in one way or another. Practical inspiration toward taking care of something you may have been neglecting is available as well. February 16: Venus and Jupiter are in exact conjunction today, which can offer a tremendous boon to your lovelife, self-expression or something else you enjoy. Be wary of over-confidence, however, or getting too carried away. February 18: The Sun goes into Pisces, bringing attention and emphasis to your ego needs, creativity, children, lovers and those things you enjoy. February 20 - 23: Another good day to look for creative solution to anything that's bothering you or causing stress in your life. If anyone has been trying to undermine you, now is a favorable time to address it. However, bear in mind that some adjustments are called for, perhaps a complete change of direction if you want things to change or improve. Your mental powers are enhanced to help find a solution, however, and understand the situation more deeply than before. February 27 - 28: Inspirational ideas and a burst of creativity as they relate to your home environment are highly likely today. Enjoy them, but don't be too quick to act upon anything that involves your finances as they're not likely to be very practical. The Full Moon occurs on the 28th as noted above.
