Lunations and Long Term Aspects

This month the New Moon occurs on February 13 in Aquarius, your 6th House of work, health, fitness and pets.  Virgo represents the 6th House of the Zodiac so this should be familiar and welcome ground for you.  Neptune is conjunct the New Moon system, lending some of his inspiration and dreaminess to its flavor along with some interest aspect patterns.  There are two overlapping Yods, also known as a Finger of God, which will be pushing you in a slightly different direction.  The first one comprises Pluto sextile a conjunction between Jupiter and Venus forming the base with Mars at the point or, as it's usually called, the eye.  Pluto is in fellow Earth Sign Capricorn for the next decade-plus where he will be doing some clean-up work in your 5th House of creativity, self-expression, children, romance, entertainment and speculation.

You're typically neat and organized by nature so this will give you even more incentive to get rid of things you no longer need to make room for something new.  Just because something is neatly filed away doesn't mean you still need it.  This includes old bug collections and other items related to hobbies you abandoned years ago.  I know that Virgos are inclined to do this because my mother was a Virgo and when I was cleaning out her house prior to getting her settled in a rest home I found stacks and stacks of old bills that went back to when I was born, neatly bundled up with rubber bands which were crumbling with age in her desk.  That along with every letter anyone on Earth had ever written to her, every greeting card, and every picture I ever drew from kindergarten on up, probably because she had hoped I'd be an artist like she was.  I know you have a propensity for perfection and think you may someday need to refer to all that old stuff for one reason or another, but there's little need for it beyond the audit limits of the IRS.  Believe it or not, the rest of the world really doesn't care about what the electric rates were back in 1975 and even if they did, they wouldn't expect you to produce an old PG&E bill to prove it.

Pardon the digression, but I couldn't help myself.  Part of that little lecture was directed at myself, who has a Virgo ascendant, and also has a lot of stuff I ought to ditch that isn't nearly as neatly organized as my mother's was.  Anyway, moving right along, Pluto is working at renovating your 5th House which we'll be talking about here for a long time to come and he's sextile that Jupiter/Venus pair in Pisces, your 7th House of relationships.  This may imply that someone close to you will be very happy if you clean out the closet in the spare bedroom or perhaps the garage.  Or maybe it's about improving relationships with your children or romantic interest, who both reside in your 5th House.  Add Mars to the picture, who's in your neighboring sign, Leo, and your 12th House of enlightenment, spirituality, dreams, confinement, institutions, and hidden enemies (which can be yourself), and you get a diverse and interesting cluster of possibilities.

Mars is retrograde, which implies there is some unresolved issue awaiting action that should have been taken before, but wasn't.  The first scenario that comes to mind, using the more negative manifestations of the 12th House as the home of institutions and hidden enemies, is that maybe you ought to follow your spouse's advice and claim your rather expensive hobby (such as gambling or renovating old motorcycles) on your income tax this year and even go back and revise last year's return to do the same.  Similarly, if you're currently incarcerated for cheating on your taxes, perhaps Pluto will dig up some new evidence that your attorney will be able to use to get you a new trial.  Hahaha!  I truly hope that these aren't your situation and help put whatever is going on in your life in the proper perspective.  More likely you have a dream that has been buried or a spiritual part of you that you've been denying which you need to address.  Perhaps Pluto will help you get to your creative roots and determine what you're looking for to be happy since a perfect world isn't going to occur anytime soon and possibly someone close to you, either your significant other or perhaps your psychologist, will help you get there.

The other yod employs most of the same planets except for swapping out Pluto for Saturn, which also shifts the eye to that lovely Jupiter/Venus pair, which certainly implies living happily ever after.  Saturn, who's also retrograde, is in Libra, your 2nd House of finances, possessions, needs, pleasures and self-worth.  Saturn retrograde typically is grinding away on something that needs to be restructured, which in this case could easily be your budget.  Of course I know Virgos well enough to know that if I don't hit your exact situation on the head that you'll think I don't know squat, so I'm not even going to try.  (I learned that from two Virgo parents for whom nothing I ever did was quite good enough.)  However, I've given you enough information that you should now know what to look for and figure out what you need to do.  Your Sign Ruler, Mercury, is out there engaged with what's going and will surely bring some information your way to help.

Also note that there's an ongoing square between Saturn and Pluto which has been in effect since early October and will persist until mid-March, then recur from mid to late July through mid-September.  Squares bring challenges to help us resolve or overcome something and this is going to relate to your 2nd and 5th houses, i.e. your possessions and finances along with that 5th House of creativity, ego-expression, kids, and lovers, so you have the better part of this year, probably until your birthday, to figure it out and take care of business.

The Full Moon on the 28th occurs in your very own Sign and if your birthday is on September 2, give or take a day, it's going to hit you in the headlights.  Appropriately, considering the message of the New Moon, a Full Moon typically brings closure or shifting to a new phase and this will be at the personal level.  The Sun is in Pisces, your 7th House of relationships, and conjunct Jupiter, which suggests something significant will occur in that area.  It looks like there's going to be some news at work that necessitates some course changes and may also relate to that jail sentence.  Just kidding, but I'm finding it a tremendous challenge figuring out what to do with retrograde Mars in your 12th House.  Trust the Universe to let you know what it is because I can't possibly go there for every Virgo out there who's reading this.  There are a few hints that romance could be coming into your life, but I'm going to leave that one alone, too.

Short Term Aspects

February 5 - 7:  Expanding or improving a relationship may depend on making a few adjustments such as reworking your finances.  This could apply to either a personal or professional relationship.  Unexpected news could come your way or perhaps a creative idea related to your kids or love interest.  Or it could be your significant other making a big fuss about those issues noted above.  Things at work should be going well, but don't get too excited if it sounds too good to be true because it probably is.

February 10 -11:  If you don't already know what it is, expect your first hint today regarding what needs to be resolved that involves a close relationship.  Mercury, your Sign Ruler, goes into Aquarius on the 10th, which will help facilitate communications with regard to your work and health.  It will also prove helpful for such things as training your dog.  Really.  Venus goes into Pisces on the 11th, which will help things along in the relationship area.

February 12:  Keep your ear to the ground for more hints on what is being transformed with regard to your deeper self.  If you've been neglecting your spiritual health or engaging in self-defeating behavior, it's time to take a very close, candid and honest look at yourself and decide what you need to do to rectify the situation.  On the work front, things should be going well and on the profitable side, helping you with the restructuring of your finances.

February 13:  New Moon today as described above.

February 14:  Happy Valentine's Day!  As you would expect, Venus is active today and luckily she's in your 7th House of relationships.  However, it looks like she's taking up with your significant other and nudging you toward those things that need to be resolved.  Other than that, don't believe everything you see, hear or even feel today as it may be a delusion.

February 15 - 16:  If you're a chronic spender but don't know it, keep an eye on what is trying to seduce your wallet and decide whether it's really a practical or logical way to spend your money.  There are some romantic possibilities out there during this time as well.

February 18:  The Sun enters Pisces today, bringing light and emphasis to your relationships.  Remember that in an astrological sense that "relationships" include everyone with whom you have a one-on-one interaction.  This includes close friends and relatives, your significant other, business partners, business professionals, and also opponents and open enemies.

February 20 - 23:  This period of time is another one that's favorable for looking at those issues you need to address and make the necessary adjustments or course changes.  Admitting you made a mistake is not admitting weakness but showing you are willing to improve.  If you're not seeing the light, someone close to you will probably spell it out for you.

February 27 - 28:  You may have what seems like a million dollar idea today, but it may be an illusion so proceed carefully and research the facts before making too much noise about it.  Relationship issues will be significant on the 28th, hopefully in a good way.  The Full Moon occurs on the 28th as well, as noted above.
