Lunations and Long-term Aspects

The Full Moon this month on August 10 is in your nextdoor neighboring sign, Aquarius, your 2nd house of income, possessions, finances, needs, comforts and pleasures as well as what you value.  A Full Moon typically indicates an ending, culmination or shift to a new phase which in this case has the potential to have a significant impact on your life.  This is most likely to be noticeable if your birthday is right around January 9.  As you probably know, a Full Moon comprises an opposition between the Sun and Moon so opposing houses will always be involved.  In this case the Sun is in Leo, your 8th house of transformations, intense experiences, sex, death and rebirth, shared resources, debt and things you suppress.  The house the Sun occupies is likely to receive some emphasis during that time and in this case could have a strong bearing on the situation, whatever it happens to be. In other words, both the 2nd and 8th houses are likely to be involved.  The Sun could draw attention to something that ultimately reflects in your 2nd house.  Study the matters covered by each to see what sounds most familiar as far as your current situation is concerned for clues.

Note, however, that Saturn forms a T-square with the lunation.  Saturn is in your 11th house of friends, groups, organizations, networking, goals, hopes and wishes which implies some restructuring is in progress in this part of your life.  A T-square denotes tension and challenge so whatever this relates to is going to take some effort.  Saturn, your sign ruler, relates to responsibility, wisdom, authority figures, conservatism and meeting your obligations as well as ambition. This could represent your obligations to friends or groups presenting a problem or perhaps the challenge to set new goals which will impact your income, comfort zone, or perhaps shared resources.  A major change on your part may be required before you can make progress.  Saturn and Uranus are still in what has been a long-term quincunx as described a while back in this blog.  A quincunx indicates a change of direction which based on the houses involved, indicates restructuring your goals or group activities so you can break free and start something new.  Uranus is rebellious, independent and innovative which can be the key to taking control so you can go after what you want.  What is holding you back from what you want or need to do?  What do you need to make happen to free yourself?

In addition, Mercury is in Leo, your 8th, which will facilitate potentially transformational mental activity and thought, while Jupiter is also in that sign which will expand and inflate whatever is happening.  This is good mental energy to work things through.  In it's simplest delineation this would be some significant life-changing ideas taking place.  Jupiter is connected with Neptune in Pisces, your 3rd house of thoughts, ideas, siblings and neighbors, which suggests a significant flow of inspiration and big ideas which could contribute to this change.  Taking action is favored as well, based on Mars in Scorpio, your 11th house, which includes friends, etc. as noted above.  This implies that the help of others will be available and helpful, even though this may take some effort on your part as far as setting things in motion is concerned.  Brainstorming with others and calling in favors, if necessary, are worth serious consideration.  Mars is quite happy to be out of Libra, sign of his debility, where he was stuck for several months due to retrograde motion.  In Scorpio, a sign for which he is the traditional ruler, his drive and energy finds greater intensity and passion.  If you have something you want to accomplish, this Mars can help you go after it with a vengeance while the trine to Neptune brings inspiration.

The New Moon on August 25 is in fellow Earth Sign, Virgo, your 9th house of higher learning, legal matters, publication, other cultures, long-distance travel, philosophy of life and relocation.  If your birthday is right around December 24 this will trine your natal Sun and bring an easy flow of energy your way from this part of your life.  Of particular interest with this lunation is a very tight yod a.k.a. finger of god which includes that Saturn - Uranus quincunx described above which relates to a new goal or involvement with others that involves an innovative new endeavor.  This is given even further energy due to the fact that Mars has joined Saturn in a partile (same degree) conjunction, giving a lot of passion and energy to whatever it is you want to go after.  Mercury is in Virgo, sign of his dignity as well as exaltation, and sextile Saturn and Mars, bringing ideas, information and possibly news that relates strongly enough to tie everything together for that new direction.  Some transformation will be required which will take some effort but further contribute to the endeavor's success.
