Lunations and Long-term Aspects

This month the Full Moon on July 12 is in Capricorn, your 11th house of friends, organizations, groups, networking, goals, hopes and wishes.  This suggests an ending, culmination or shift to a new phase of something in this part of your life.  With the Sun in fellow Water Sign, Cancer, your 5th house of creativity, children, romance, ego definition, entertainment and speculation, it's likely that these two will tie together in some way.  If your birthday is right around March 11 it's likely you'll encounter an opportunity of some sort, so watch for it.  Your traditional sign ruler, Jupiter, is just about to leave Cancer where he is exalted and you may notice it when he's gone since he tends to increase whatever is going on.  If you're working on a creative project or some other 5th house endeavor you may find that things flatter out a bit around the 17th when he goes into Leo. For this lunation he is semisextile Mercury which suggests annoying news on the homefront, the surfacing of an old memory or something else that brings some friction but the good news is that this type of aspect also can represent an opportunity that will just require a little more effort on your part, kind of like a dark cloud with the silver lining.  It could be a new brainstorm of some sort that has a limited time to implement when you're already too busy, for example.

If your birthday is around February 26 your modern sign ruler, Neptune, has been parked on your natal Sun for quite a long time, like since the end of April, and he'll be there until the end of this month and that's not even counting a one degree orb.  I'm talking about being at 7 degrees Pisces that entire time, the duration due to stationing retrograde in that degree last month.  If that's you and you feel as if you're in a brain fog, tired, lazy, unmotivated and daydreaming far too much to remain in the real world then this is the reason.  This can be great for inspiration, getting in touch with your higher self and such as that but not so much so for functionality.  I'm sure that showing this to your boss, spouse or perhaps parents isn't going to rectify the situation but you can always give it a try.  It should improve around mid-September but since he's retrograde he'll eventually come by again early next year but then he'll move on for good.  That can be a pretty long time of being unproductive so put it to good use drawing from the extra input to your imagination.  If you're a creative type then write down the ideas because they will not always flow like they are now. 

Saturn in fellow Water Sign, Scorpio, has been retrograde since March and goes direct July 21.  That is your 9th house of beliefs, expectations, philosophy of life, higher learning, other cultures, long-distance travel, relocation, legal matters and so forth.  Saturn retrograde typically operates on the subconscious level with regard to something that needs to be rebuilt or restructured and relates to the house he's in.  If you haven't already figured out what he's up to then you will when he goes direct.  If your birthday is right around March 7 then he is trining your natal Sun, giving it more significance.  Saturn represents authority, responsibility, structure, wisdom, maturity, tradition, boundaries, restrictions and conservatism.

But it gets more complex because Saturn and Uranus are locked into a rather long-term quincunx so these two rather antithetical planets are influencing each other.  Uranus is the planet of the rebel.  He's about breaking away from anything holding you back. He rules anything unconventional, rebellion, upsets, disturbances, surprises, explosions, technology, breakthroughs, innovation and so forth.  He is in Aries, your 2nd house of income, possessions, needs, comforts and pleasures where he could be causing all sorts of surprises and disruptions.  There is also some implication toward an unusual source of income or one related to technology.  As an example of that, I have Uranus in my 10th house of career and I spent 22 years in the aerospace industry and am now an astrologer and science fiction writer.  Certainly not the norm. 

The aspect tying these two planets together is a quincunx which usually indicates the need for an adjustment, change of course, to defend your position or in some cases a Catch-22 where you are damned if you do, and damned if you don't.  So your belief system is going to have to adjust to whatever is going on with regard to your income or needs or vice versa.  Note that this aspect lasts in this same degree, even, until almost the end of August which gives you plenty of time to figure it out and act accordingly.  It's also interesting that Saturn goes direct on July 21 and Uranus goes retrograde on July 22, sort of a cosmic relay of sorts.  Uranus retrograde tends to be quite unstable and full of surprises so whatever happens there may be what precipitates the changes to your belief system, requires long-distance travel or even relocating.  Makes for an interesting summer, eh?

The New Moon on July 26 is in Leo, your 6th house of work, health, pets, service and everyday activities.  Given that your work is generally connected with your income, this makes sense considering you have something going on there.  Jupiter is only a degree and a half away from the lunation which will inflate its effects even more.  If your birthday is right around February 22 you are likely to encounter a change of direction as a result.  There's a bit of a catch but might not be quite as bad for Pisces as it is for some of the other signs.  That happens to be the square between this New Moon trio and Mars, who has just barely entered Scorpio.  Scorpio being a fellow Water Sign may be what makes this more favorable because generally it looks as if there will be a significant conflict.  It's possible that this could mean you get a fantastic job offer or promotion but it requires a major move. 

The trine from Scorpio to Pisces could mean that it's to somewhere you've always wanted to live and the move comes off without a problem.  Venus and Mercury are now in Cancer, yet another Water Sign, which can further help things along.  Cancer is your 5th house of creativity, romance, children, ego definition, entertainment and speculation, generally considered a favorable and even "Fun House" which implies creative solutions or perhaps some other 5th house pleasantry involved as well.  All in all, it looks like an interesting, possibly exciting and even favorable month for "fishies."
