The first astrological event of note this month is Mercury stationing direct on October 9.  This occurs in Libra, your 11th house of goals, friends, hopes, wishes, groups, organizations and networking.  Thus, this retrograde period probably related to rethinking, reworking, revising or reconsidering something related to this part of your life.  Saturn has just stepped into your sign and is conjunct your natal Sun if your birthday is right around November 24.  Mercury is sextile Saturn, suggesting an opportunity to restructure something though Saturn is also being squared by Venus, ruler of the 11th who's hanging out in your 10th house of career, reputation and public image along with several other planets which I'll get to in a moment.  This suggests that perhaps you had a career goal that represents an obstacle and may be what you were supposed to be rethinking courtesy of Mercury.  Now perhaps an opportunity will come along that provides the means, information or ideas to get things moving.  In fact, watch for something that initially looks like an annoyance that could turn into the proverbial blessing in disguise.

Now for all that energy in your 10th house of career and status.  Venus, Mars, the Moon and Jupiter are all in Virgo which provides a lot of influence to this part of your life.  Your sign ruler, Jupiter, is there as well, the master of expansion.  However, all of them are opposing Neptune in fellow Mutable sign, Pisces, your 4th house of home environment, cultural roots, memories, endings and new beginnings.  Neptune is squaring your natal Sun if your birthday is right around November 30 which could be causing some confusion or even delusions in this part of your life.  If you're trying to get a new career off the ground, there could be some challenges you need to work through, the good news being that those planets in Virgo can probably help.  An opposition typically indicates the need to balance the two energies.  Since there is a whole lot more in Virgo it's going to prevail and help you go after what you want in a planned, precise, organized manner with a strong dose of practicality which can overcome any Neptunian delusions.  Furthermore, Jupiter, the Moon and Mars are trining Pluto in your 2nd house of income, possessions, needs, comforts and pleasures.  Pluto in this house is transforming something in this part of your life, perhaps how you earn your living.  So over all, the influences are favorable for helping you through this process.

The New Moon on October 12 is in Libra as well with the energies very similar to Mercury's station chart but not quite as strong.  The lunation itself suggests a new goal, friend or group coming into your life.  It's opposing Uranus in Aries, a fellow Fire Sign, which is helping fire up your 5th house of creativity, children, romance, ego definition, entertainment and speculation.  Uranus rules innovation, rebellion, uniqueness, flashes of brilliance and freedom which can help with this new goal or 11th house issue with balance the keyword again.  The Full Moon on October 27 is in Taurus, your 6th house of work, health, service and pets which suggests an ending, culmination or shift to a new phase of something in this part of your life.  The Moon is in partile (same degree) quincunx to Saturn in your 1st house which suggests a change of direction.  The oppositions between the Virgo planets and Neptune have diminished but Venus and Jupiter are still trining Pluto in your money house.  More changes of direction are indicated by the three planets remaining in your house of career which are quincunx Uranus, suggesting a career change based on your creativity is likely.
