Lunations and Other Cosmic Events

The first astrological event of note this month is Mercury stationing direct on October 9.  This occurs in Libra, your 12th house of dreams, visions, your subconscious mind, seclusion, confinement, institutions, hidden enemies, self-undoing, enlightenment and inspiration or what I tend to refer to as the house of angels and demons.  The entire retrograde period was spent in that sign which suggests that you've been ruminating on something at the subconscious level or perhaps related to one of those other matters.  Mercury is sextile Saturn in Sagittarius, your 2nd house of income, finances, possessions, comforts, needs and pleasures which suggests this could relate to an opportunity in this area. 

Venus, Mars, the Moon and Jupiter are all hanging out in Virgo, your 11th house of goals, friends, groups, organizations, networking, hopes and wishes which bring a lot of energy to that part of your life that you'll want to exploit while it lasts.  The bad news is that they're all opposing Neptune in fellow Water sign Pisces, your 5th house of creativity, ego definition, romance, children, entertainment and speculation.  On the positive side, this is a house generally looked upon as favorable and it trines your sign, so this may not be that much of a problem.  Neptune is loaded with inspiration, enlightenment, insights and imagination which goes very nicely with your 5th house of creativity.  You just need to make sure you don't get carried away into Lalaland and be too unrealistic.  This is where all those oppositions from Virgo can work in your favor.  They say that everyone has at least one million dollar idea in their lifetime, but most don't follow through on it.  If you're developing an idea with that potential, the reality, practicality, precision, and critical eye inherent in Virgo's energy may be exactly what you need to shape it up and package it into a viable idea.  Jupiter, the Moon and Mars are trining your modern sign ruler, Pluto, in Capricorn, your 3rd house of thoughts, ideas, siblings, neighbors and local travel.  This suggests some transformational idea in work that have a fair amount of cosmic help behind them at this time.

The New Moon on October 12 is in Libra as well, suggesting something new arising in your 12th house.  If you're one who believes in "The Secret" or are a fan of Mike Dooley or the plethora of others who promote the idea that "thoughts become things" note that this is the house where that occurs, i.e. where you visualize what you want, believe the Universe will deliver and then do what you can to facilitate it.  The lunation opposes Uranus in Aries, your 6th house of work, health, service and pets.  This suggests a hectic pace, disruptions, and instabilities in this part of your life, which may serve as motivation to go after that big idea.  The other aspects are similar but not quite as strong as they were for Mercury's station.

The Full Moon on October 27 is in your polar sign, Taurus, which constitutes your 7th house of relationships.  This includes your significant other, business partners, business professionals, cliental, close friends and relatives, competitors and open enemies.  This suggests and ending, culmination or shift to a new phase of one of these relationships which could result in a change of direction with regard to your income and such.  It may be a challenge if things are hectic, but you need to listen to your intuition and discern your best course of action.  The opposition between those Virgo planets and Neptune has dissipated with Mars, Venus and Jupiter now quincunx Uranus, suggesting a change of course that will relate to work or perhaps your health.  Water signs have a strong sense of intuition, especially Scorpios from whom few can effectively keep a secret (except maybe another Scorpio), so this should be like child's play to figure out what's going on and what you should do about it.
