New Moon

This New Moon, the first one of 2016, occurs on January 9 at 19:13 Capricorn.  The lunation is conjunct Pluto, which provides a transformational influence or the potential involvement of power or control issues that will relate to the natural house in which it falls.  Mercury is retrograde and has returned to Capricorn, suggesting the need to rethink or redo something related to this house.  The New Moon squares Uranus, implying sudden change, a disturbance or unexpected event which introduces something new into your life which is likely to be of a challenging nature.

The lingering square between Saturn and Neptune is almost over, which should help you see things related to responsibility more clearly.  This long-term square has caused delusions related to responsibilities and introduced too much idealism into situations that required a firmer hand.  Nonetheless, the conjunction between Venus and Saturn should bring some philosophical influences with the potential to break away from any previous poor decisions.  A passionate approach to situations that deserve compassion is favored as well as careful consideration of ethical matters.

Mercury is still retrograde and conjunct Pluto, indicating a time to rethink and resolve old issues, but breaking away from previous situations or decisions will be difficult. Taking action of a compassionate nature is favored, however. The Sun transiting Aquarius, the sign that favors friendship, groups and goals, carries an egalitarian influence which is also detached, providing a positive influence for making objective decisions for the good of the many as opposed to the few.

This month Mercury goes retrograde on January 5th at 01:03 Aquarius and will station direct January 25th at 14:55 Capricorn.
