New Moon/Solar Eclipse

This month's New Moon is also a solar eclipse, which gives it a lot more strength.  Eclipses have considerable staying power as well, meaning their influence may be felt before or even months after their occurrence.  Check the house placement for this lunation above and then watch that part of your life for something to come along, especially if your birthdate is within a day or so of the date indicated for the strongest influence.  The eclipse opposes Jupiter, who's retrograde in Virgo, sign of his traditional debility, which could bring a wealth of information your way, both of an intuitive and logical nature.  This could be a case of TMI, i.e. "too much information" and bring some level of confusion.  Go with your gut feeling, but don't be surprised if you find it all somewhat confusing. 

There are two overlapping aspect patterns further activated by this eclipse which have been hanging in there for quite some time since it involves the outer , slow-moving planets.  I generally refer to them as "course adjustment loops" which are best described as bringing a situation where what you've been doing is clearly not working, driving you to another course of action.  The good news is that the eclipse could be the vehicle to finally deliver the solution you've been looking for, which could introduce itself as an annoyance from the past that can be turned to your advantage with a bit of effort on your part.  An older person or authority figure may be helpful in bringing an innovative solution.  If you've been trying to extract data from someone or some other entity and having difficulty, you may be able to dig it up elsewhere.  If available, a friend in a high place may be helpful as well.  Be prepared to change course as a result, once you balance out all the pros and cons.

Full Moon

The Full Moon is a lunar eclipse, which gives it additional punch as well.  As a general rule, a solar eclipse brings events and situations while the lunar version is slightly more likely to pertain to emotional matters, perhaps even any repercussions brought about by said events.  The change of course element noted above has dissipated, which suggests you're either already heading in a different direction or perhaps now it's too late.  Reality may be clashing with fantasy or delusions that could be tremendously confusing until you sort things out, which probably won't be easy.  Once you figure things out, taking decisive action is favored which will probably be along a unique, unusual or even rebellious pathway that you will construct along the way.

Resolving old issues is favored as Chiron, "the wounded healer", joins the lunar South Node.  Venus in Pisces, sign of her exaltation, may bring a bit of extra luck your way as well, but be sure to show your gratitude and avoid being over-confident.

OTHER COSMIC EVENTS

This month Saturn stations retrograde (RX) in Sagittarius, your 8th house of transformations, shared resources, things you suppress, intense experiences, debt, sex, death and regeneration.  Saturn RX typically targets something that needs to be rebuilt or restructured, though he operates primarily on the subconscious level until he stations direct, which will be in August, at which time his message becomes apparent.  Given proper attention, the issue can be resolved by November.  Saturn RX tends to slow things down, instituting delays, boundaries, limitations and a general sense of slogging through mud.  Since the 8th house contains some heavy-duty issues, restructuring of this part of your life can be a bit difficult.

Saturn is at the apex of a mutable T-square involving Venus and Jupiter, which will color this retrograde period as well.  Your sign ruler, Venus, is in Pisces, where she's exalted, which is a good thing.  Pisces is your 11th house of friends, groups, organizations, goals, networking, hopes and wishes so these matters can be greatly enhanced, but these will possibly conflict with what Saturn is trying to tell you at a deeper level.  Jupiter is retrograde, also, which internalizes his energy so that it's more philosophical than expansive.  In fellow Earth Sign, Virgo, your 5th house of ego definition, creativity, children, romance, entertainment and speculation, these matters will be involved in some way as well.  If your birthday is right around May 7 this will have a stronger, more noticeable effect.  A change of direction will ultimately result, but is likely to be of a favorable nature.

One thing to look out for, however, is Mars, who is currently in Sagittarius as well.  Mars in the 8th deserves some level of caution since it can sometimes bring an inclination to take unnecessary chances which can bring problems.  He's being pushed further by the Sun and Mercury in Aries, your 12th house of spirituality, your subconscious mind, seclusion, confinement, enlightenment, hidden enemies and self-defeating behaviors, so if you have an urge to do something that relates to the 8th house, such as taking on a large debt, joint venture that involves money or something considered risky, be sure to give this a lot of thought backed up by solid research.  The reason for this is that Mars goes retrograde in April which suggests actions that will be reversed or regretted, particularly any that take place once he stations, which will be April 17.  This is a time to listen to your gut and not pursue anything that violates your core beliefs.
