FULL MOON

This month's Full Moon on 8 July is in Capricorn with the Moon on a collision course with Pluto. In other words, she's a degree away from the lord of the Underworld, which will lend a somewhat dark character to this lunation. Pluto relates to power, control, corruption, unresolved issues, and things that should be eliminated in one form or another. Take a look at the section above where it states the part of your life that Capricorn represents for additional clues regarding where this influence is most likely to affect you at the personal level. Of course a Full Moon represents an opposition with the Sun, a time when your head and heart may be at odds with each other. The Sun is in Cancer, an emotional, family-oriented sign, that will emphasize these matters as well. Capricorn and Cancer are polar signs that truly represent the ongoing conflict between home and career so many encounter. With Mars in Cancer, a sign where he is prone to temper tantrums as his drive is hindered as if he's trying to move through figurative mud, you may find that those things you aspire to with an emotional component may be thwarted. Balance is your best recourse, though this may not be easily attainable. Relationships are very likely to be involved in all this as well, with Jupiter in Libra, the sign that rules relationships in general, is at the apex of a T-square with the lunation, showing a variety of conflicts which will require attention.

On the positive side, Venus and Mercury are lending some assistance with communications. Finding the relevant facts and rationale for what you want are favored along with the ability to speak from the heart with regard to your wants and needs. Don't expect others to be a mind-reader; explaining what you want or need clearly is much more effective than simply expecting those around you to figure it out, much less get it by osmosis.

Speaking of Mars and his frustrations, he is quincunx Saturn retrograde in Sagittarius, indicating that a complete revamping of your plan, which will involve a change of direction, is likely as well. A Catch-22 is also possible, a situation where you are damned if you do and damned if you don't. No wonder Mars is growling! At least Mars' opposition with Pluto should be fading away, this hard aspect between two malefics unlikely to be helpful to anyone, other than those who enjoy being difficult, controlling, or combative. If this unfriendly energy exchange connects with your chart, be especially cautious. Don't take any unnecessary chances, drive defensively, and generally guard you health. If you have underlying health issues, this is likely to bring them out and demand attention.

Jupiter and Neptune are in quincunx as well. Since both are outer planets, which move relatively slowly, this will be in effect for a while. With Jupiter in Libra, as noted earlier, the simplest interpretation for this placement relates to the expansion of relationships. Neptune in Pisces, however, is the epitome of your visions and dreams, idealistic but most likely not realistic. I see this as perhaps expecting too much from those around you, which will ultimately result in disappointment. The quincunx therefore suggests an adjustment or change of course there as well. For this lunation, the Sun form a course adjustment loop with the quincunx by trining Neptune and squaring Jupiter. This configuration typically indicates hitting a snag where something isn't working, necessitating a change, then proceeding in a slightly new direction. Tying in all the family and relationship vibrations inherent in this lunation, it looks like an excellent time to address any issues that need attention. Again, look to which house the Full Moon occurs in for you for additional hints regarding your role.

New Moon

The New Moon this month is 23 July at 00:44 Leo. This time the lunation is cozied up to Mars, who is happy to be out of Cancer. While his temper tantrums in Cancer were emotional and most likely related to frustrations, now that he's in Leo, they're going to be fueling Leo's propensity for fiery displays of will. There is quite a cluster of planets in Leo, i.e., the lunation, Mars, and Mercury, as well as the lunar North Node. With the Sun, Moon, and Mars in conjunct, but otherwise not aspecting any other planets, they will be a veritable fireball of energy and self-will. Again, take a look to the section above which tells you which natural house this occurs in for hints on where this influence will occur. You are likely to be determined, energized, and vocal, about what you want. The vocal part, courtesy of Mercury, will display shades of the desire for sudden change if not downright rebellion and the need to do some serious rebuilding. Heartfelt ideas that may depend on others are likely to encounter delays and boundaries before progress can be achieved.  The quincunx between Jupiter and Neptune described above is still in effect, so be sure to give your dreams a sanity check. The North Node's conjunction with Mercury implies something new coming your way, perhaps in the way of ideas or information, so keep an eye out or, better yet, actively seek what you need to know to substantiate your rationale, both for your own benefit as well as others you may need to win over.

OTHER COSMIC EVENTS

There are no planets stationing this month, either retrograde or direct, which eliminates any unwelcome energy blasts, even though some of them can be favorable. If your birthday is right around 11 October, however, the Full Moon on 8 July forms a T-square with your natal Sun which could bring a few challenges your way that relate to the usual home/career conflict. In other words, things may get real busy on the career front, keeping you away from home more than you'd like. With Pluto in your 4th house of home environment (see more in the box at the top addressing the Full Moon and the influences of that house), there are likely to be a variety of transformations in progress in this area, anyway. Pluto has been in Capricorn for quite a while, and isn't leaving anytime soon. If your birthday is right around 12 October, he's squaring your natal Sun, making this more pronounced. Pluto transits can be rather difficult, but the worst thing you can do is fight against it. Pluto may not be big enough in the corporeal sphere to be considered a planet, but believe me, he's bigger than you are and will not be ignored. Pluto excels at eliminating things you no longer need and is actually excellent at cleansing and healing as any corruption is addressed and disposed of.

Jupiter has been in your sign for quite a while, which has hopefully had a fortunate or even lucky effect. This largely depends on what he's aspecting, however, since in reality he simply expands or exaggerates what he touches, for good or ill, much like Mercury, or even the Sun. If your birthday is right around 9 October, he's somewhat parked on your natal Sun. This could exacerbate Pluto's activities in your home environment, but as Venus transits Gemini, your 9th house of beliefs, expectations, philosophy of life, higher learning, religion, politics, other cultures, long-distance travel, and relocation, he could increase her benefits in that area, which could simply provide the optimism you need to get through any matters that are challenging you at the time.
