FULL MOON

The Full Moon this month is conjunct Neptune, a planet that covers a broad spectrum of influences, literally from soup to nuts (the insane variety). Neptune rules liquids of all kinds, which some parts of the world have seen more than their share of lately; drugs, pharmaceuticals, and alcohol; dreams; illusions, delusions, and deception; photography, video, and movies (the media itself as opposed to content); oil, gas, liquid fuel; transoceanic trade; and various other things. The point here is that this lunation, regardless of which house it falls within for you, will probably have a Neptunian influence of some sort, especially since this reinforces the fact the Full Moon itself is in Pisces, whose modern ruler is Neptune, bringing a bit of a double whammy to bear, energy-wise. Meanwhile, the Sun is in Virgo, an Earth Sign, indicating emphasis on the material world, which will need to be balanced with those dreamy or perhaps soggy influences from across the zodiac.

Venus is quincunx the lunation from Leo, suggesting some adjustments or course changes may be required that relate to love or money. She's semi-sextile the Sun, indicating these may be necessitated by an annoyance or friction of some sort, yet this aspect often has a "blessing in disguise" element to it, provided you put some effort into resolving whatever it brings your way.

Mercury has been trining Uranus for a while now, which is somewhat unusual since he tends to move a couple degrees per day. Since he stationed direct the day before the lunation, however, he was thus virtually stationary longer than usual. This influence is likely to bring some unexpected or surprising news. Uranus is the master of surprises, making him difficult to predict; typically, whatever you expect will be wrong. With a trine, the edge is taken out of it, though, implying that these disruptions or disturbances are likely to work out more easily than expected or perhaps even bring good news. Jupiter is in a somewhat wide, yet viable, opposition to Uranus, indicating an inflationary effect. Jupiter will expand and exaggerate what he touches which means sometimes it will blow things up even bigger than life, though in some cases it will turn out to be a lot of hot air, so to speak, and not as bad as it seems. However, in the case of recent storms, on which I'll do a blog sometime soon as I get caught up after my excursion to see the total eclipse as well as family, those effects were certainly real. Many consider Jupiter lucky, but in my experience he's somewhat neutral like Mercury, and simply increases what he touches, for good or ill.

The Sun trining Pluto suggests a time to do some serious clean-up where you eliminate those things from your life that you no longer need, whether they be toxic relationships, possessions, or bad attitudes. Complementing this aspect is a sextile between Jupiter and Saturn which suggests a philosophical approach toward rebuilding something new.

NEW MOON

The New Moon in Virgo has lots of company, including Mercury, Mars, and Venus. Note that these tag-alongs are thus all out there as morning "stars", if you're up before dawn. Meanwhile, astrologically, that's a lot of energy in that sign reinforcing the lunation. Mercury was trining Uranus for the Full Moon while the lunation is quincunx Uranus, suggesting sudden or unexpected changes that require an alternate route, adjustment, or perhaps present a Catch-22. Jupiter is still opposing Uranus, thus inflating these effects. Quincunxes are a somewhat unstable aspect which are also difficult to predict, and when Uranus is involved, it increases the likelihood of being blindsided by something.

Mercury is opposing Neptune, an aspect that suggests any news or information that comes your way should be scrutinized carefully since it could be an illusion, confusing, or "fake news." Under this influence, you can bet that much of what you hear is going to be in that category, so be sure to check your facts.  Mercury is trining Pluto, which can help get to the bottom of things, expose corruption, or unearth the truth. There's a good chance that anyone trying to deceive you or those who think they can get away with lies will be caught in the act. If you're a person who tends to stretch the truth, this is probably not a favorable time to do so because it's likely you'll get busted.

OTHER COSMIC EVENTS

Both Mercury and Pluto station direct this month. Mercury does so on 5 September, the day before the Full Moon, and will be out of his shadow period in time for the New Moon on 20 September. He stations at 28:25 Leo, trining Uranus, as noted earlier. Leo represents your 6th house of work, health, service and pets, so if things have been dragging in this part of your life the past few weeks, this should help get them moving again. This station draws out Uranus's surprise influence for several days, indicating a period of unexpected news and other disruptions, perhaps with regard to communications, though the trine does soften things a bit. Uranus is in Aries, your 2nd house of income, possessions, finances, needs, comforts, pleasures, and what you value, indicating you have probably experienced a variety of surprises and possibly upsets in this part of your life for a while. Hopefully, this trine will bring good news in this regard that you're not expecting. Venus quincunx Neptune, your modern sign ruler, suggests some adjustments, if you haven't been seeing things clearly and made some questionable decisions with regard to love and money.

If your birthday is right around 3 March, Neptune is parked on your natal Sun, increasing your Piscean traits, for good an ill. Every sign has both, so your strengths and weaknesses will both be affected. Occurring so close to the Full Moon, the station aspects are very similar and thus will simply emphasize the lunation chart, though there should be an underlying theme of finally being able to move forward. Mars has moved into Virgo, your polar sign and 7th house of close relationships, an sign influence that can make it particularly annoying when things do not go as they should given Virgo's propensity for perfectionism. Mars in this house could bring a variety of conflicts with those close to you, either due to you or them being more aggressive than usual. Used properly, this energy can be useful for increasing your influence with others and building new relationships. Mars is being opposed by the Moon in Pisces, suggesting the need for balance between idealism and reality as well as service and compassion. For Pisceans, this suggests fairness to both parties. Mars's energy and aggression can be helpful as far as helping others, however, with the Sun also emphasizing service, work, precision, and practicality. Think "Golden Rule."

Pluto stations direct on 28 September, the Moon also in practical Capricorn mitigating any conflict between active service and compassion. Capricorn is your 11th house of goals, friends, organizations, associations, networking, hopes, wishes, and big gains. Pluto transiting this house suggests major changes and transformations in this area of your life over the period of several years. Mars in Virgo trining Pluto provides a boost for those on a cleaning frenzy of any variety and will help with eliminating anything that needs to be disposed of. For Pisceans, this suggests help moving forward with your goals from someone close to you; time to call in those favors. By this time, Jupiter, your traditional sign ruler, is in partile opposition to Uranus, which will increase those surprises and disruptions. Jupiter is in Libra, your 8th house of transformations, intense experiences, death and regeneration, sex, debt, and shared resources, increasing the likelihood of such events. Mercury is partile quincunx Uranus, indicating unexpected news that will require a change of course. Expect annoyances and a bumpy path along the way, especially since Mars in Virgo will compromise your patience when things go wrong and thus make them even more nerve-wracking and frustrating. For Pisceans, Mercury in the 7th house of relationships and Uranus in the 2nd house of finances and needs, suggests the need for an adjustment involving these two areas.

The Libra Ingress on 22 September marks the equinox and change to a new season. Ingress charts are often used for mundane and geopolitical astrology as an indicator for the coming three months. There seem to be various speculations out there that right around this time something startling is supposed to happen. With Jupiter still opposing Uranus, that isn't much of a surprise. Mercury is in Virgo, sign of his dignity as well as exaltation, which is efficient at dispersing news. Mercury's square to Saturn suggests that some of it may be suppressed by authority figures, while the trine to Pluto indicates that the information may have been covered up or covert, perhaps exposed by a leak. Mercury is still opposing Neptune, indicating deception and confusion, while Mars opposing Neptune indicates aggression that may be sneaky or possibly deceptive or an idle threat. Venus in Virgo, sign of her fall where her loving nature is often replaced with criticism, is being trined by the Scorpio Moon, which will infuse it with passion and possibly obsession. A semisextile between the Moon and Sun suggests friction and annoyances, the Sun in the sign that requires balance and focuses on relationships, while the Moon is seldom interested in being fair or logical while in Scorpio. Those aspects lend a plethora of possibilities, so all we can do is watch the news and see how they fit that cosmic scenario, remembering that it covers the coming quarter.
