NEW MOON 

The New Moon this month on 13 June is in Gemini, generally suggesting a new mental endeavor or idea which will be bring about a transformational change, especially for those of you born around the dates noted above. This change derives from the quincunx between the New Moon (which by definition is a conjunction of the Sun and Moon) and Pluto. If you're already having a Pluto transit to somewhere on your chart, then it will affect you, too. For the rest of us, it will be in more of a general sense. Mercury has gone into Cancer, bringing an emotional element to your thoughts. We all have certain in-born inclinations to follow your head (Air and Earth signs) or heart (Water and Fire signs) if your Sun is thus placed, though Mercury's placement, as the natural ruler of thoughts and ideas, has a bearing, too. This could balance it out or bring additional confusion. I'm a Capricorn who tends to side with my head, but my Sagittarius Mercury sometimes pushes me otherwise. Mercury is sextile Uranus, just getting into Taurus, which will tone down his impulsiveness to some degree. This can bring some innovation to your ideas and if you're looking for independence, it can bring some practical considerations to your attention.

Mercury is opposing Saturn, another admonition to be practical. Being retrograde suggests rethinking and restructuring. Where this lies in your life depends on the house Saturn is transiting on your chart. Saturn, in turn, is being semi-sextiled by Mars, suggesting some annoyances or friction regarding Saturn's influence, such as the usual delays and obstacles the ringed giant is so good at inflicting on us mortals. The overall impression is that anything you're thinking of pursuing is likely to move slower than you would prefer. The planets move at their own pace and you can't change it, so accepting that not everything will transpire according to your timetable will do wonders for your blood pressure.

Jupiter continues to trine Neptune, suggesting that your dreams and visions are being inflated and imbued with passion. This is all well and good, unless they're means to escape or avoid real life. Getting away from time to time is good for your sanity, but will lead to trouble if you do so on a regular basis. Ignoring something that needs attention will not make it go away.

Venus is a sneeze away from leaving Cancer and moving into Leo, where she will be much more glitzy and self-centered. Nonetheless, whatever this lunation brings your way is likely to retain some of her nurturing influences.

FULL MOON

The Full Moon occurs on 27/28 June in Capricorn. The lunation is conjunct Saturn, bringing some extra Earth Sign practicality. The Sun is in Cancer, emphasizing family and emotional attachments, while the Moon, Saturn, and Pluto are pushing for more practical approaches. Remember that a Full Moon tends to bring an ending, culmination, or shift to a new phase according to the part of your life it's affecting, which you can find in the table above. Just a reminder that the table is based on your natural houses where the sign where you Sun is placed is your 1st house. Your natal chart's ascendant describes what is likely to be another house structure, which also applies. However, I have found that the natural houses have equal bearing, or these horoscopes would rarely be accurate. There are certain fundamental influences you'll share with others with the same Sun sign.

Uranus is trining the Moon and Saturn, suggesting innovation and freedom as well as possible change. Uranus usually indicates sudden change, but this will be slowed down somewhat with him in Taurus. At least you may give it a bit more thought than you would when he was in impulsive Aries. If there is something you've been planning to do for some time, then this may be it. However, Mars is squaring Jupiter, indicating taking action on something you feel strongly about isn't favored. This comes back to the need for patience and possibly delays, especially since Mars is now retrograde. In some ways, this is similar to Mercury retrograde. It will inhibit action and anything you do during this time (which extends through August) will most likely come to naught or need to be redone later. From past Mars retrogrades I learned not to make any major purchases because the item tended to not be needed and just sat there in some cases, making it a waste of money, while in others it never worked the way it was supposed to. More on Mars retrograde below in the "Other Cosmic Events" section.

There's a course adjustment loop out there, also referred to as a learning triangle. This indicates that going after something you want in its full glory is likely to encounter obstacles. In other words, what you want is not necessarily what you'll get. However, by adjusting your vision or dreams slightly, you may be able to get there, probably after all implied delays due to rethinking and restructuring are addressed.

OTHER COSMIC EVENTS

The first week of the month a Grand Water Trine is in effect that will have the strongest influence on those of you born between the 5th and 7th of March. This involves Neptune in your sign and 1st house; Venus in Cancer, your 5th house; and Jupiter in Scorpio, your 9th house. These are all considered favorable houses which reflect on your outward personality, self-image and creativity, as well as your belief systems and view of the world. Use this watery blast to indulge yourself by feeding your creative side and outlook.

Mars stations retrograde on 26 June. The shadow period for this extends back to mid-May, so actions taken during that time could also be affected. There are a bunch of oppositions involved, which definitely throws some "Stop" signs out there. For starters, Mars is opposing Venus in Leo. Given that these two are the natural significators for men and women, this doesn't bode well generally for relationships. Oppositions indicate the need for balance, so bear that in mind. It's not so much that one wins at the expense of the other, but finding a suitable compromise. Remember the message of Mars retrograde and the effects of ignoring it which imply that whatever you do during this time you may regret. This calls for careful thought and consideration. Thus, any big decisions should be put off until September, if possible. Truces and peaceful coexistence are encouraged for now. This opposition is the base of a T-square with Jupiter in Scorpio, suggesting that inflated passions and perhaps a touch of self-righteousness is further complicating the situation. Maybe both of you are right, or have valid arguments. Being objective is probably not part of the equation.

Another opposition is between the Sun in Cancer and Saturn in Capricorn. This points toward a balance between emotion and practical in its simplest form. Decisions should be entirely based on one or the other, but with due respect to both. Yet another opposition is between Mercury in Cancer and Pluto in Capricorn. Mercury in Cancer will bring an emotional influence to thoughts and ideas. Pluto relates to the past, unresolved issues, hidden corruption, power, and control. This suggests emotional reactions with regard to anything that has been simmering out there, unresolved. Think of the stench of rotten meat left in your garbage can in the summer heat. Your first inclination is to douse it with chlorine bleach and hose it out. However, caution is advised because the bleach could kill the grass, discolor your designer jeans, or perhaps you really don't want those rotten contents on your driveway, either. In other words, if it's been brewing for a while, hasty action you don't think through sufficiently could have unexpected and undesirable consequences.

Uranus is trining Saturn, like he is for the Full Moon, given Mars actually stations the day before. This implies planning for a practical change, not necessarily doing something impulsive you'll regret later. The Moon is squaring Neptune which implies you may think you know it all, but you really don't. You're either confused or refusing to see things clearly or perhaps being purposely deceived. 

The course adjustment loop described in the last paragraph of the Full Moon section also applies here. Seeing things clearly is essential along with being fully aware of the cost of any decisions that might bite you later, something the Mars retrograde excels at.

If your birthday is right around 28 February, this station is semisextile your natal Sun from your 12th house of subconscious, dreams, visions, seclusion, confinement, institutions, hidden enemies, and self-defeating behaviors. Mars in this house can also denote action from hidden enemies or someone trying to undermines you. If you tend to trust others more readily than you should, be especially cautious at this time. Note that during the retrograde period Mars goes back into your 11th house of goals and friends, so keep an eye on that area, too.
