NEW MOON AND CAPRICORN INGRESS The Full Moon on November 30 was a lunar eclipse and the New Moon on 14 December is a solar eclipse. It's a total eclipse that will only be visible in a swath across southern Chile and Argentina for land viewing and part of both the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. Remember that eclipses are more powerful than the usual lunation, so much so that their effects last longer and sometimes even manifest before the actual eclipse. This one occurs in philosophical Sagittarius and conjunct Mercury. This implies it will bring a blast of information of some sort with the triplets trine to Mars suggesting it will spur action of some description. The eclipse also forms a partile semi-sextile with Pluto in Capricorn, that annoying aspect that tends to bring a blessing in disguise that requires some effort to bring about the positive side, such as a positive attitude and appropriate action. The eclipse and Mercury are also squaring Neptune, which brings the potential for enlightenment that might be difficult to accept or perhaps more deception. Mars is squaring Pluto, which tends to denote a power struggle or clash as well. Jupiter and Saturn are conjunct in Capricorn with Saturn anaretic and ready to go into Aquarius. More on that below. This pair is sextile Venus in Scorpio, who is likewise not particularly happy. As the natural ruler of love and money in the sign of intense passion this could work to bring an increase in responsibility and commitment to a relationship. Saturn-Jupiter conjunctions have a somewhat bad reputation for their effect on the stock market, but perhaps Venus will mediate that somewhat, even though she's in debility. Saturn's sojourn in Capricorn will thus finished for a few decades since retrograde movement in 2021 will not result in his return. He won't be back until 24 January 2047. As the traditional ruler of  Aquarius, he will be strong in that
sign as well, but with a different flavor than he's had in
Capricorn. I don't know about you, but I certainly hope so!
Jupiter is not happy in Capricorn's restrictive environment, but
that conjunction is something to watch. While he and Saturn are
conjunct in Cappy for the eclipse, they're not in exact
conjunction on the 21st, the same day the Sun goes into Capricorn,
marking the solstice. It will be exact for approximately three and
a half hours. That will create a semi-sextile with the Sun,
another interesting aspect to watch for annoyances and friction.Remember that the Seasonal Ingress Chart, i.e. when the Sun goes into a Cardinal sign, tends to affect the entire season, so it carries more punch than a simple sign change. The Ingress Chart is something to behold with so many planets shifting signs! This is a time to really tune into the prevailing energy because that shift should be one that you can't possibly miss if you're paying even a modicum of attention to such things. For novices, start a day or two before. Meditate on what you're feeling, then identify how much is your own thoughts and how much is coming in from the cosmos. Write it down. Then do the same thing on the 21st and compare. Of course your personal transits will be slightly different as well, but you should still notice a difference. Quite frankly, I'm somewhat overwhelmed by the unique qualities of this ingress chart. Planets at 29 degrees are strong and known as anaretic. They have spent an entire cycle in that sign and have built up a certain energy that is culminating. As soon as they slip into the next sign to zero degrees, a new influence snaps into place. A new cycle has begun. Some astrologers consider zero degrees to be the strongest. Think of holding your breath for an extended feeling and how it feels when you let it out. In this chart we have the Sun, Mercury, Jupiter, and Saturn all entering a new sign within a period of a five days, starting with Saturn on 16/17 December (depending on your timezone); followed by Jupiter on 19 December; Mercury on 20/21 December; and the Sun on 21 December, which marks the solstice. The fact that these two couples are forming semi-sextiles with each other suggests tension, friction, and annoyances. Capricorn is the sign that rules authority figures, corporations, and governments, among other things such as traditions. Aquarius is the sign of groups, organizations, and networking as well as friends, and of course, we're supposedly in the Age of Aquarius. This smells like social unrest to me. Also note the prominence of the 23rd degree: Pluto 23:51 Capricorn; the Moon 23:40 Pisces; Mars 23:05 Aries; and the solar eclipse a week before fired up 23:08 Sagittarius. The Moon is squaring the eclipse degree, suggesting tension accepting what revealed and possibly trying to cloak it in a fog of confusion. The Moon is sextile Pluto, in this case implying inspiration or enlightenment with regard to something previous hidden, such as corruption that needs to be eliminated. The semisextile from the Moon to Mars implies friction between peaceful acceptance and action and resistance, fortified by Mars' square to Pluto. The quincunx between Venus and Uranus is only 12 minutes of arc from being exact. This suggests a sudden change or upset related to love, money, your sense of security, or comforts. This brings to mind the Saturn-Jupiter stock market connection as well. This, like the rest of this landmark year, will be interesting to see unfold. FULL MOON The Full Moon this month is on the 29th. It's not quite as catchy as the Ingress Chart, though a few things do stand out. Uranus forms a Triangle of Potential with the lunation, suggesting change will be part of the promised culmination, ending, or shift to a new phase that's always part of a Full Moon. Venus and Neptune are squared off, implying conflict between a philosophical versus idealistic approach. Pluto and Mars are still squared, and Jupiter is squaring Uranus, expanding or inflating any change or conflict in play. Venus is conjunct the Lunar South Node as well, indicating something leaving, which bring us to the fact that Neptune is in a position known as "at the bendings," which means it's forming a T-square with the Lunar Nodes. The Lunar Nodes tend to act as gateways, where something goes out to make room for something new coming in, with Neptune's involvement indicating the potential for either confusion or inspiration. It appears that this rather trying year is going to persist with its disruptive nature clear up to New Years and at least into the first quarter of 2021 since the Ingress chart reflects upon the entire season.
