Interview with Author/Illustrator Donna McGarry

"Donna captures the spirit of the zodiac signs with wit, delightfully original illustrations, and keen insights. This entire series is a fabulous way to introduce someone of any age to the magic of astrology." --Whobeda

The Curse of Dead Horse Canyon: Cheyenne Spirits

An Epic Cross-Cultural Novel by Marcha Fox and Pete Risingsun

All Sara Reynolds remembers of the accident that killed her husband, Bryan, is his dying plea not to let them get away with it. As she and Bryan's life-long Cheyenne friend, Charlie Littlewolf, seek the truth, black ops forces pursue them both. Will connecting with the grandfather spirits help solve the mystery? Or does an ancient curse play a far greater role than either realizes?

EXCERPT (One of the characters is an astrologer!)

Patrice printed out Bryan's chart with the transits for the accident. "This tells me it was fated, not random. Wow! Pluto, god of the Underworld in the 12th house of hidden enemies. In a partile quincunx to the asteroid Phaethon, the son of Apollo who crashed his father's chariot into the Sun. The 'crash and burn' asteroid that frequently represents someone taking on more than they can handle. It shows up a lot in accidents or crashes."

Review of Steven Forrest's "The Book Of Neptune"

"If you feel as if you've lost your footing, are sinking in quicksand or adrift on a large body of water with no land in sight, there's a good chance that Neptune is involved.  If that's the case, I can't recommend this book highly enough." --Whobeda
(Ending, culmination, or shift to a new phase)
(Brings something new into your life)
Date: 2 September 2020 Date: 17 September 2020
Position: 10:12 Pisces (Strongest influence for those born ~ 31 March) Position: 25:01 Virgo (Strongest influence for those born ~ April 15)
Natural House: 12th Natural House: 6th
Influences of the 12th include spirituality, enlightenment, inspiration, the collective consciousness, your subconscious mind, seclusion, institutions, confinement, hidden enemies, and self-defeating behaviors. I often refer to this as the house of angels and demons for obvious reasons. A Full Moon could bring a culmination or shift to a new phase of something in this part of your life, but if it's at the subconscious level, don't expect it to be obvious. Influences of the 6th house include work, health, service, employees, and pets.  Expect something new to come your way in one of these areas, such as a new job or a new project at work that takes you in a slightly different direction or requires some sort of change.  It's an excellent time to work on your diet or fitness plan or see a healthcare professional if you haven't been feeling up to par.  A new pet could come into your life as well.

This month's Full Moon on 2 September emphasizes the polarity between practical reality (Virgo Sun) versus emotional visions (Pisces Moon). Most people agree that the year so far has been less than cooperative in a plethora of ways. Hopefully this culmination and its coming next phase will be favorable. Uranus is intervening from Taurus in what should be a favorable way, however. He's the planet of breakthroughs and sudden change as well as innovation and technology, rebellion, explosions, and so forth. There have certainly been too many of the latter this summer so we can always hope that this lunation will help bring those issues to a peaceful resolution. On a more personal level, look to these same principles to resolve any conflict you're dealing with between what you should do versus what you want to do. Much of it depends on being able to differentiate between wants and needs. Only you can make this determination since one person's need may only constitute a want for someone else. Needs that are denied can be harmful psychologically and many needs have been compromised through the various problems caused by this pandemic. Maybe you can't achieve your needs in their entirety, but by thinking outside the proverbial box you may be able to satisfy them enough to keep you sane until this insanity is over.

Mercury, who's quite comfortable in Virgo where his need for detail and clarity is supported, is still opposing dreamy Neptune, who's likewise quite content in his Pisces home base. As always, an opposition calls for balance, so in many ways this complements the lunation. It's getting a little extra help,  however, from Pluto and Saturn, who are mitigating the opposition from Capricorn. Their energy in authoritative and conventional Capricorn implies leaning toward tradition and assuming as much control of the situation that you can may help resolve the difference between dreams and reality.

There's been a persistent T-square in play between Mars, Venus, and a conjunction between Saturn and Pluto that has brought a lot of tension. In less than a week Venus is going to go into Leo, which will help a little, though maybe her caring, human side has been a good thing. Mars easily represents the many who are fighting authority figures of all varieties. Saturn has been retrograde, which puts him in a contemplative mode pondering change and rebuilding, while Mars in Aries is at full-throttle attack mode. What's interesting is that a week after this lunation Mars stations retrograde and by the end of the month, Saturn stations direct. This makes Mars passive-aggressive while Saturn will finally stand up to the situation, so some changes should be afoot. More on Mars retrograde a bit later. The point here is that it looks as if the culminating effects of the lunation will ultimately reflect upon that T-square as well. I think we're all ready for a reduction in stress, don't you think?

I'm in a bit of a quandary here. Between the Full Moon and New Moon there are several important cosmic events. Mars stations retrograde on 9 September; that infamous asteroid, Wuhan, stations direct 10 September; and Jupiter stations direct 12/13 September. These are all important energy shifts. Retrograde motion internalizes it while direct (or posigrade) motion brings full expression. I think it will be less confusing if I go in chronological order, so let's look at those stations, then move on to the New Moon and, after that, Saturn stationing direct.

Mars Retrograde Station 9 September 2020

Mars goes retrograde approximately every two years, so this is less common than many others. It starts on 9 September, goes direct 13 November and the shadow lasts until the first of year, i.e. January 2021. It's important to note that this also prolongs his stay in Aries. It was as if as he approached the Taurus cusp that he decided he wasn't done yet, and wanted to go back and perhaps redo a few things. He and Saturn have been squared off for a while. Both planets are in dignity, i.e. in signs they rule, making them strong and supported by their environment, but Saturn has been retrograde. While Saturn represents structure, building, authority, and tradition, while retrograde his energy promotes restructuring, rebuilding, and so forth. This gives Mars a bit on an advantage. Perhaps Saturn will actually be listening and consider some of Mars' demands. Or is he simply the stern parent waiting for his toddler's temper tantrum to cease?

The rest of the station chart shows a triangle of potential where Jupiter and Pluto are mitigating the opposition between Neptune and the Sun. Virgo is an Earth sign that is practical, meticulous, and occupies the 6th house which includes work and health. Think about that for a moment. What has taken the biggest hits the past few months? In case you're forgotten, Neptune rules such things as viruses and things you cannot see. So the Sun is standing up to Neptune, perhaps saying "enough of this COVID19 crap." Pluto's mitigation is likely to provide information that was previously hidden and Jupiter (also retrograde, but only for a few more days) relates to ethics issues and pondering philosophical arguments. Will this bring a shift in this sorry situation at last?

Wuhan Direct Station 10 September 2020

The day after Mars stations retrograde, that infernal asteroid, Wuhan, goes direct. It does so in partile sextile with its buddy, Neptune, which has been in effect most of the month. That triangle of potential that involves the Sun and Neptune is also tied into Wuhan, who is currently between Jupiter and Pluto. The Moon in Gemini, sign that presides over information, is quincunx Pluto and Saturn. That rather unstable aspect is very Uranian in character and hard to predict because it's full of surprises. In general, it indicates the need for a change of direction or adjustment, though it can also indicate a Catch-22. This is likely to relate more to the Mars situation than Wuhan, especially since Mars just stationed the previous day and there will be that energy shift. However, the Moon is at the apex of a T-square with that Sun-Neptune opposition, so that ties into the COVID19 debacle. With luck, it will see things improve in that department, at least.

Jupiter Direct Station 13 September 2020

Are we having fun yet? When Jupiter goes direct he'll return to his usual character of expanding and exaggerating whatever he touches. Both luminaries are focused on those Capricorn planets and their asteroid sidekick, Wuhan, which are in a rolling stellium with Jupiter 17:24; Wuhan 19:17; Pluto 22:36 RX; and Saturn 25:33 RX. The Sun is trining them from Virgo, sign that rules healthcare, while the Moon is opposing them from Cancer, a caring, nurturing, emotional sign. The Moon, which moves rather quickly, will hit each of the members of that stellium in succession. Jupiter rules Sagittarius, the sign that presides over knowledge and other cultures. Information and communications are ruled by Mercury, who's in a quincunx with Uranus, so something rather unexpected such as a major breakthrough, looks likely there. Wuhan and Neptune are still sextile, but it looks as if that is easily overruled by the luminaries and Jupiter magnifying the effects. Dare we hope this will bring good news?

So now let's see what the New Moon will bring.

The New Moon in Virgo (as noted earlier, the sign that rules healthcare) is on 17 September. The lunation is in a somewhat wide but viable opposition to Neptune while trining Saturn and Pluto. So a healthcare-related New Moon is eyeballing Neptune in cahoots with Wuhan, while looking more favorably on Saturn RX (who's still thinking, but due to go public in under two weeks) and Pluto, also RX, but this is when Pluto does his best work uncovering secrets, corruption and so forth. My bets are on the luminaries in this battle. Mercury is quincunx Neptune, suggesting a change of direction in the information, though the partile square between Mercury and Jupiter suggests that it will not all be disclosed. Venus in Leo, who's thinking primarily about what she wants, is not happy with Uranus, who may bring a surprise her way she doesn't like. Mars RX is still squaring Saturn, same ol', same ol', but perhaps backpedaling a little or perhaps going back to the drawing board for a different strategy. This all has more punch than the individual stations, which led up to it. Will it see things improve? I sure hope so.

Saturn Direct Station 29 September 2020

This is a very interesting chart with a partile Course Adjustment Loop between Saturn, Mars, and Venus. Saturn now has the upperhand, being direct, while Mars is stuck in low gear. These two have been arguing for a while. Venus in Leo is quincunx Saturn, suggesting a change of course, even if it has a few selfish undertones. These shifts work for Mars, hopefully resolving a few things. The Sun and Moon are quincunx, another indicator for a shift or two that hopefully balances fairness with compassion. Mercury in passionate Scorpio eggs on the Moon in charitable Pisces, bringing some emotional impact.

In summary, there should be some serious shifts and potential changes this month that will be hard to miss. Peeking down the road a bit, soon Wuhan will conjoin Pluto, which may bring the final revelation on taking control of the havoc it's caused. At that point, the sextile with Neptune is broken, which further appears to be good news. I'm going out on a limb to some degree suggesting good news is on the way, but it looks promising and I'm sure you're as tired of this crap as I am. About all we can all do is take it as it comes, one month at a time.
