Lunations and Long-term Aspects The Full Moon on August 5 brings us another lunar eclipse, further emphasizing the theme of the 11-South family of the Saros series which is sudden reforms as well as finding new and innovative solutions to existing problems by thinking outside the box. Obstacles in your way could be removed in a sudden or forceful manner, probably without any intervention on your part. The other aspects that accompany this eclipse may yield a few hints for you to consider. First of all, there's a Triangle of Potential that comprises Venus; Pluto, your Sign Ruler; and Mercury at the apex. Pluto is parked in your 3rd House of thoughts, ideas, neighbors and short journeys for a long, long time, but what a boost this is going to give your deep, probing mind! You will be formidable in the coming years and no one is going to be able to put anything over on you unless you choose to ignore it. If I were a Scorpio, I would find this to be fantastic news worth celebrating. I guarantee that there are numerous other Signs who are not the least bit happy about Pluto being in whatever House he happens to be for them. Venus is in your 9th House of beliefs, expectations, legal matters, higher education, relocation, other cultures and long-distance travel. Venus is also a "friendly" and even though she's in opposition to Pluto, for a Scorpio this isn't necessarily an unfavorable aspect; it simply implies that you are giving some deep and probing thought to something going on in that 9th House. The third party of this aspect pattern is Mercury, who's in your 11th House of groups, organizations, friends, and aspirations. Mercury is about thoughts, information, communications, and the conveyance of just about anything. His position at the apex implies that he is the driver that will resolve any conflict between the other two. Thus, whatever that 9th House issue is that you're contemplating, information coming from others or perhaps rooted in your aspirations is going to be the deciding factor, all of which is going to tie back and affect your home environment in some way. The fact that the north node of the Moon is hovering on your 4th House cusp also implies that something new is coming into your life in this particular venue. All in all, I would say this appears to be quite favorable. Other influences to watch include that long-term stellium comprising Jupiter, Neptune and the asteroid, Chiron, who are all retrograde in your 4th House, which is certainly a busy place these days. I'm still gathering data regarding what this trio is up to. Jupiter tends to expand whatever he touches which is typically a good thing, except I don't exactly trust Neptune or Chiron. Neptune can be very inspiring and open up vistas of imagination and inspiration but he can just as easily throw delusions and illusions our way. This is where that Scorpio discernment can come in real handy. Get the facts and address them as objectively as you can. Take off those rose-colored glasses and look at things from all sides. Chiron is another one who can go either way. He's about the things that can hurt us and also about healing, though usually the healing part comes when we apply our unfortunate experiences to helping others in a similar fix. The fact that all three of them are retrograde throws another caution flag. Retrograde planets often don't deliver as promised. Again, study the facts, get it in writing, and turn up the gain on your mental powers before making any critical decisions. Mars is trining the Moon from your 8th House of transformation, sex, death and other people's money. Ah, yes, this is also familiar ground for a Scorpio since your Sign occupies the zodiacal 8th House. This is your turf and Mars is your ancient Sign Ruler. A trine is a harmonious aspect, so all of this implies an emotional transformation at home is in progress. However, Mars in the 8th House needs to be watched like a hawk because it can also bring unfavorable things like accidents. The trine with the Moon is all well and good, but Mars is also squaring Saturn who's generally looked upon as one of the astrological bad boys. Saturn is about responsibility, obligations, hard lessons, delays, restrictions, and boundaries and is in your 11th House of groups, friends, and so forth and a square often brings a challenge or crisis. All of this implies that there is some obligation or responsibility you need to deal with relative to your friends, coworkers, an organization or "others" generally that will throw a roadblock out there between you and that emotional transformation. Nothing worth having comes easily so it figures that there will be something in the way. For example, you could be thinking about relocating but need to sell your house to do so and of course the housing market right now is pretty abysmal. The 8th House, as you recall, includes other people's money and debt, and Mars in that position can imply someone is hounding you to pay back a debt with your mortgage company a likely candidate. That ought to give you plenty to think about regarding the eclipse and what its message is. It obviously has more questions than answers, yet the Universe if gifting you with your Sign Ruler in your House of thought to help you figure it all out, right down to the last bit of information, no matter how effectively the other parties may try to keep it from you. The stellium, as noted earlier, may be less than trustworthy and could include some delusions so the same advice holds for looking at all the facts as objectively as possible. The T-square comprises Saturn, Mercury, Uranus and Mars, most of whom are in the "unfriendly" category. In a nutshell this seems to say something surprising on the part of one of your kids or a lover will initiate a tug-o-war between them and your responsibilities, with that 8th House Mars right in the middle, which as you recall from above could be anything from your mortgage company to your drive to attain a transformational change of some description. The quincunx between the New Moon and Uranus indicates a sudden change of course will be required and will probably pertain to a child or romantic interest. Two of the Triangles of Potential (ToP for short) involve the New Moon, which I'll assume to be a career opportunity or something else that affects your reputation or status. The first one involves your buddies, Pluto and Mars, which simply brings in the same themes noted earlier regarding deep ruminations along with the drive toward a major transformation or dealing with debt. The second one involves the New Moon, that Neptune/Jupiter/Chiron stellium and Mars. In this case Mars is in a harmonious trine with that stellium, however and Mars is in the driver's seat, implying you're in control of this one. Remember a ToP typically indicates a favorable solution to a dilemma so while it does include something challenging you have to deal with, it also gives you a tool for resolving it. In other words, if you really want this transformation you can attain it; if you have a debt to deal with you can use that to your advantage, also. Its base is Venus, representing that 9th House stuff again and your responsibility to others or perhaps your aspirations. These two are in sextile, which usually denotes an opportunity. Thus, an opportunity related to your responsibilities will hail from your 9th, whether it's going back to school, a trip abroad, a relocation or perhaps just a dramatic change in your beliefs and expectations, and point you toward a dream related to your home environment; just make sure it's not an illusion. Daily and Short-Term Aspects August 1 - 3: Thoughts will start to rumble regarding your beliefs and expectations and/or something related to your 9th House (i.e. higher education, relocation, foreign travel, cultural issues, and so forth.) Helpful or encouraging thoughts and information from others will also start coming your way for consideration. August 5: The Full Moon/lunar eclipse occurs on this date. August 7: Expect more information from friends relative to an opportunity. August 10: A speedbump will probably appear in your path today related to your responsibilities, specifically those involving debt. August 13 - 14: Your drive to make some changes in your life will involve expanding your home environment in some way. There will be various pros and cons to this decision that will be there for consideration if you're willing to look for them. August 17: This is a busy day astrologically as various aspects start lining up that will be emphasized by the New Moon. Career opportunities that will pave the way for those transformations will be apparent but an acute awareness of your responsibilities to others will be there as well. Look carefully at your vision for your home life but remove those rose-colored glasses to make sure you're seeing things as they really are. A change of direction will be required to go after your aspirations; your current direction will not take you there. Just make sure what you're reaching for is real. August 18: A sudden or unexpected change of direction or possibly a Catch-22 related to your career, reputation or status as it relates to your children or love interests will present itself. Something will be in the way, however, whether it's your debts or something unexpected. Be extra careful today regarding accidents as well. Drive defensively and don't take chances of any sort. I mean it. August 19: A means to accomplish your dreams may appear today and point you in the direction you need to go. Pay close attention and don't ignore anything. Even if something is in the way, don't ignore it. Rather, determine a means to deal with it. August 20: New Moon today as denoted above. August 21 - 23: News or information hailing from others will oppose those changes related to your children, romantic interests, or aspirations. Listen and be objective, but realize they may only be playing devil's advocate. The Sun goes into Virgo on the 22nd, bringing emphasis to the other people in your life as well as your aspirations and hopes for the future. A change of course will present itself, but make sure it's not a mirage. Encouragement to make the change will be there showing others are on your side. Turn up the gain on that Scorpio discernment to figure out whether or not you can count on it.
