Lunations and Long-Term Aspects

The Full Moon this month is in Scorpio, your 5th House of children, creativity, ego, entertainment and romance on May 8th. The Moon is your Sign Ruler and as such affects you more than other signs, which you've probably noticed. A Full Moon usually means that something is culminating, so look to your 5th House to determine what that might be. There are quite a few interesting aspects accompanying this lunation that will also color its effects. First of all, note that both Mars and Venus are hanging out in your 10th House of career and public image. This will give you lots of energy in this area; others will respond to you in a favorable manner, and interactions with those of the opposite sex should also have a bit more spark than usual in that part of your life.

There's a stellium, defined as three astrological entities in the same sign or house, in Aquarius, which comprises your 8th House of sex, death and regeneration, shared resources, and transformations. The parties involved are Jupiter, Neptune and the asteroid, Chiron, which are all in close conjunction. This represents a lot of energy in one place. The implications are that over the next month or so while this trio is hanging out together that you'll be undergoing some interesting changes that will have a lasting effect. After an 8th House experience you're never the same person again, in one way or another.

The influences effecting this change point toward an expansion in your beliefs that evolves through a shifting toward more idealistic or compassionate views toward someone or something in your life. This could be something like an act of forgiveness toward someone who has hurt you, a sudden desire to help those less fortunate yourself in some way, or some similar sentiment. The fact that Chiron is in the midst of this aspect is important in that his function as the "wounded healer" will be involved. Chiron in your natal chart indicates the area in your life where you'll be hurt in this life, either physically, emotionally, mentally or spiritually; these wounds never entirely heal, but we are admonished to help and comfort others using the understanding and compassion we experience through dealing with our own painful experiences. Chiron transits usually indicate when and how injuries actually occur as well as healing experiences. Thus, something is going on in this area that is going to make a difference in who and what you are. These transits will persist all month and will thus also be in effect for the New Moon, implying that whatever the Full Moon closes out will start up in a different form with the New Moon.

The New Moon is on the 24th in Gemini, your 12th House of spirituality, enlightenment, dreams, institutions, hidden enemies, and so forth. In addition to that stellium described above, this lunation will hail a change of course relative to one of your relationships as a result of your deep introspections. Pluto, who's the perpetrator of such things, is trying to get you to release some old baggage from one or more of your relationships and it looks like the entire Universe is pointing you in that direction at this time. The thought process leading to this will come from some thoughts that originate from one of your friends or a group association of some sort that gets you to rethink something from the past, perhaps with additional information than you had at the time. You won't be expecting this, but it will get you thinking in a different way that will provide the opportunity to unload some of those old, worn-out sentiments that you'll be better off without.

Daily and Short-term Aspects

The first week of the month you'll be thinking about how a past relationships has hindered you in some way that has ultimately affected your public image. If you've been through a painful divorce or breakup that you haven't resolved, there's a good chance it's holding you back from meeting someone new or moving on in your life. Maybe it's time you took some steps to resolve this issue or perhaps something will occur during this time that forces the issue.

Saturn has been retrograde since New Years Eve and will finally go direct mid-month. While he's been stuck in reverse in your 3rd House of thoughts, ideas, neighbors and short journeys, he's been stirring things up in your subconscious relative to something in this area, more than likely your attitude toward something or someone. Around the 5th, the Sun will throw a trine that way from your 11th House of groups, friends, and hopes and wishes which will throw some light on the subject and possibly bring it to your conscious mind. Once it surfaces you'll have the opportunity to confront it and hopefully resolve it. Around May 11, give or take a day, your thinking will undergo another adjustment, this time related to any thoughts you may have regarding moving forward in your career. If you've been holding yourself back in some way, this will provide you with some insight on how to make some positive changes in that regard.

Mercury goes retrograde on May 6th, which is certainly not cause for celebration, but this is actually a positive time to rethink and reconsider anything we have in-work. Mercury is in your 11th House of friends, organizations, coworkers, and hopes and wishes, so this may be the area where you need to be refining your current plans or ideas. There's a target-rich environment for introspection this month with those lunations, so Mercury RX is actually pretty appropriate. Remember that this isn't the time to buy anything electronic or mechanical and brace yourself for a variety of annoyances from cell phone and internet woes to traffic signals being honked up. Personal communications are usually not the best, either.

Around May 16 the Sun is throwing some light on that transformation-inspiring stellium, which will bring your attention to whatever it is you will be dealing with this month. This will come from one of your friends or perhaps a lecture or information that comes out in a meeting that sets you to thinking in that direction. It could also derive from your desire to achieve something, where you finally accept the fact that something is standing in your way. An opportunity to change your beliefs is out there as well, which will make this process easier and more natural than it might have been otherwise. On the 18th more ideas will come your way, again courtesy of that same group that got you going earlier, that will give you further information regarding something you need to revise in some way.

From May 16 until May 25th, that stellium is going to get another blast from that same group of people, though your desires for something may also be the motivator. Thoughts and ideas or perhaps new information will be there if you're paying attention. If you're trying to advance your career, more thoughts should come your way at this time, perhaps related to how you can make more money or simply present a better image that would ultimately result in a raise and/or promotion. The Sun goes into Gemini on the 21st, bringing the focus from your group associations to your 12th House of enlightenment and spirituality as defined earlier in preparation for that New Moon. An opportunity to expand your beliefs through information obtained in a meeting of some sort is also out there at that time. Adjustments to how you see a past relationship will come your way on the 23rd, with the New Moon following on the 24th.

Right around the 26th Mars will be pushing you toward taking the appropriate action regarding that personal transformation. By now you should know what it is and what you should do. Think about it for a few days, make sure you leave no rock unturned, then get ready to proceed on or after May 30th, when Mercury goes direct.

This looks like it will be an emotional month for you. Something is going to effect a change at a deep, transformational level. You may have control or maybe the Universe will be pushing you along every step of the way down a path you'd avoid, given a choice. Whichever way it comes out, recognize that the Universe wants you to progress as that's what life is all about.
