Long-term Aspects and Lunations This month the Full Moon occurs in fellow Fire Sign, Aries, on October 4th, in your 5th House of creativity, ego-expression, speculation, entertainment, children and romance. A Full Moon indicates a culmination which can be either an ending or in some cases simply shifting to another phase which will be ushered in by the New Moon a few weeks later. Thus, if you have a long-term project in work related to something in the 5th House domain, this month you should complete it or a portion of it with the accompanying aspects giving some clue on what to expect. One major clue to it all may lie in the Yod, or Finger of God, that is apparent in this lunation. Mercury in Virgo, your 10th House of career, reputation and status, and Mars in Cancer, your 8th House of transformations, sex, death, debt and shared resources, are in sextile at the base. Mars in your 8th House is something to keep an eye on, though fortunately Mars isn't as energetic in soggy Cancer as he can be elsewhere. At any rate, be a bit on the cautious side and don't take any unnecessary chances until after October 16 when he goes into Leo. In the mean time, he is throwing energy and drive toward those 8th House domains that could also translate to aggression if not properly managed. Mercury facilitates communications and data as well as movement of just about anything and in your 10th House this provides the possibility for a lot of activity. Career and reputation are intuitively obvious but status is a bit more ambiguous and best illustrated with a few examples. In general it frequently relates to something where a title or label applies. When you graduate from school at any level you become a graduate. If you get engaged, marry, get divorced, obtain a job, get promoted or fired, run for public office, buy your first house, become a parent, or any number of other things, it is a status change that is noted by society. Thus all sorts of events of this sort fall in the 10th House. Mercury and Mars are sextile which is ordinarily indicative of an opportunity. There are some cases, however, where the energy between the two planets is a easy exchange, but its affect isn't particularly fortuitous. In other words if you didn't manage that Mars energy properly and got arrested, this particular encounter being reported in the paper could fit this aspect. However, let's hope in your case it's of a more positive nature, such as you have been actively pursuing something of a transformational nature, or perhaps just trying to obtain a mortgage which succeeds and results in your becoming a homeowner, this would also fit. Note that this is only the base of the Yod and the true thrust lies in its eye, which is Neptune in Aquarius, your 3rd House of thoughts, ideas, neighbors, siblings and short journeys. Neptune is an elusive planet that tends to dissolve what he touches. He can bring inspiration and enlightenment but likewise delusions, illusions, deceptive and idealism. Neptune is the originator of rose-colored glasses and the one who paints rainbows across the sky. He also rules cinema where no matter how real it may seem, what you see on that silver screen is not more than cleverly placed light. He has been resident in your 3rd House for a long time so his presence feels so natural that you don't even notice he's there. And he's not necessarily a bad thing, but you need to be aware that what you're seeing, or in this case thinking, may not be real. In the context of this yod, what you need to bear in mind is that if you are being motivated to pursue something that you think will change your life such that you'll be on top of the world, you may want to take another look at whether this is based on facts. Sag is an optimistic sign and very enthusiastic so it may be relatively easy to fall for this sort of thing, especially since your Sign rules the 9th House of beliefs and expectations which tend to make you philosophical by nature. Thus, whatever you're thinking, seeing or hearing, particularly if the source is a neighbor or sibling, may not be entirely accurate. Bear that in mind as you pursue whatever it might be and gauge your energy and public displays accordingly. Neptune is connected with Mars and Mercury through two quincunxes, which indicate an adjustment or course change. In this case, make sure you're not turning down a dead-end road regardless of what that sign may say to the contrary. Returning to the mortgage scenario as one example, make sure that the home you're buying is everything you think it is, that the neighborhood is sound, and that no one is being deceptive in any way. Another aspect pattern associated with this Full Moon is a Triangle of Potential (ToP) between Mercury, Mars and Uranus. He is a stern tutor but gives us the perseverance we need to work hard for something we really want to attain. Since he's been there for a while, he has probably been motivating you to advance in that career/reputation/status part of your life. Pluto is in your 2nd House of possessions, finances, how you earn your living, values, needs and pleasures. The Readers Digest version of this aspect is that the hard work you're putting toward advancing career or status-wise is meeting with conflicts that relate to your financial situation. Maybe you really need a promotion and raise, your expenses have recently increased, but in this economy it's not happened. This doesn't look like a very pleasant situation and it's likely to last for a few months or so. Thus, if you're having career and financial difficulties, these two are probably the culprits. The good news is that Saturn and Mercury are also making a nice, harmonious trine to the North Node, also in your 2nd House of finances, etc. Tying all this together indicates that you need to take a hard look at your financial past, including your budgeting and spending habits that may have gotten you into a bit of a bind. If you're having to dig your way out of something like this, then you will be happy to know that it looks like the Universe wants you to head in a new direction and will give you the information and discipline you need to get there. Even if you're in what seems like a veritable desert currently, the chance to get out and progress in a new and better direction is coming your way. Venus and Jupiter, two very benefic planets, are also in the game and these two are directing you toward new and better things. Neptune's inspiration may be just the thing you need, but do be cautious about believing everything you see. The Sun is transiting your 11th House of groups, organizations, friends, goals, hopes and wishes most of the month, which should also help you do any necessary networking to find new paths. You may be in a transition period, but it is taking you in new and better direction so stay the course. The New Moon on the 18th occurs in Libra, your 11th House of groups and so forth, as noted above, indicating something new is coming your way in this part of your life. This could be new friends and associations that help direct you toward news goals and aspirations. There is one aspect pattern that stands out on this lunation and it's another ToP that comprises Saturn, Uranus and the North Node, with the North Node in the driver's seat. Saturn and Uranus are in opposition which is a classic in that Saturn is all about discipline, structure, and responsibility while Uranus is about breaking free, rebellion, and disruptions. If you're oscillating between the two, your key to manage this one lies in that new direction, which starts in your 2nd House of finances and possessions. Again, if you have anything that requires some attention in this part of your life, it's important that you address it as your future will be quite influenced by it. The New Moon, which by definition is a conjunction between the Sun and Moon, is quincunx Uranus, once more repeating the theme of course changes and adjustments that are likely to hail in an unexpected and possibly disruptive manner from the home front. Pluto is quincunx Mars, as well, with Mars moved into fellow Fire Sign, Leo, where he is much more functional. This is your 9th House of beliefs and expectations, Sag's home zodiacal ground, and a comfortable place for you. Putting some drive and energy behind your beliefs will feel good; other 9th House components include higher education, other cultures, legal matters, relocation, religion, politics, and long-distance travel. Mars and Pluto seem to be telling you to put it in high gear with regard to going back to school or some other major 9th House matter and this will bring about adjustments and a course change relative to renovating your financial situation. On the dark side, matters could be causing you some trouble from that same astrological vicinity that will cause some major financial forensics. News you may not like about your finances or possessions is possible. October 24: If you need some inspiration relative to navigating that financial mine field, it's out there today. The key is to look to the past and where the root of your problem really lies.
