Lunations and Long-term Aspects The Full Moon this month occurs on October 4 in Aries, your 12th House of enlightenment, spirituality, inspiration, dreams, the collective consciousness, confinement, institutions and hidden enemies. Obviously that's quite the spread with them all being something that's somewhat difficult to define, short of the last three. Even confinement can be of a spiritual nature, such as when we hold ourselves back from something due to our lack of belief or inability to recognize something. As you probably know, a Full Moon marks a culmination which can be an ending, but can also simply be a culmination of one phase with the New Moon a few weeks later marking the beginning of the next one. Your individual circumstances will determine which applies. The aspects accompanying the Full Moon may give you a few clues. The most obvious aspect pattern is a Yod, also known as a Finger of God, that comprises Mars and Mercury in sextile forming the base and Neptune at the eye. Mars is in Cancer, your 3rd House of thoughts, ideas, neighbors, siblings and short journeys while Mercury is in Virgo, your 5th House of creativity, ego-expression, entertainment, speculation, children and romance. Neither of these planets are in a Sign where they're especially comfortable, but a sextile is a favorable aspect that usually denotes an opportunity. Thus, this implies that you've been pursuing an idea or possibly involved with your siblings or neighbors with something, perhaps a creative pursuit, as implied by the 5th House, or it could be a speculation, something involving your children, romantic partner, or even something as simple as planning a party of some sort. The 5th House is usually a fairly pleasant place to hang out, unless it's horribly afflicted in an astrological sense. There are a few challenges with this one, so there's no telling, but we'll get to them when we finish looking at that yod. So assuming the basis is something like pursuing something that is creative or speculative in nature, let's see what Neptune is doing as the eye. The base planets connect with the eye via quincunxes, which typically denote a change of course or adjustment. Thus, all that activity at the base is pointing toward something, i.e. Neptune, who in this case is in Aquarius, your 10th House of career, public image, reputation and status. The last item here is the one that's most ambiguous but in many cases you can pin it down by looking at those things that have a title or label attached. For example, when you graduate from school at any level and become a graduate, that's a status event. If you become engaged, get married, become a parent, get a job or promotion (or conversely get fired or laid-off), buy your first house, retire, and so forth, these all fall under status. Neptune is a dreamy planet who rules the Zodiacal 12th House of all that woo-woo stuff described earlier such as dreams and such. He can bring incredible inspiration but also delusions and illusions, deception and idealism beyond the scope of reality. So you need to keep an eye on this guy and keep him in line, so to speak. He's a slow mover and been hanging out in this part of your chart for a long, long time, so his presence has undoubtedly become the norm such that you don't even know he's there. Tied into this yod, however, his presence will manifest. This brings the Readers Digest version of this yod to a creative idea you're pursuing that relates to your dreams regarding your career, reputation or status in some way. At this point the options become so numerous and diverse that it's pointless for me to even try and name all the possibilities for all of you folks born under the sign of Taurus. Hopefully I've given you enough data that you can fit it all together in the context of your respective lives. The bottom line is that this looks like a rather promising aspect that could be taking you a step closer to your dreams in some way. Remember, also, that he's associated with the Full Moon, which falls in that woo-woo area, though of course any of the 12th House venues could be involved. I truly hope you're not in jail thinking about how to get out, but you never know. Moving right along, let's get those challenges out of the way and then go over the other favorable aspects. That challenges involved Uranus, planet of the unexpected, disruptions, rebellion, innovation, breaking free and sudden change. Of course none of us have seen any of that lately, right? NOT! Anyway, Uranus is in Pisces, where he has also been for quite a while, and this is your 11th House of groups, organizations, friends, hopes, goals and wishes. Thus, whatever you're trying to accomplish will encounter some opposition from such as that, i.e. unexpected disruptions that demand your time or perhaps hold you back in some other way. Since these oppositions are to Mercury, which could be the idea itself, and Saturn, which in itself can spell delays, obstacles, bureaucracies and the like, these are also possibilities. This is not to say that they're insurmountable, only speedbumps along the way. Saturn is also squaring Pluto, however, which could be a bit more troublesome. Pluto is in your 9th House which comprises your beliefs and expectations along with various other things such as other cultures, relocation, legal matters, higher learning, politics, religion, and long-distance travel. Pluto tends to be the Zodiacal roto-rooter who digs up old issues that were buried prior to being properly resolved. This could very well be something in your core beliefs that is holding you back which is entirely under your control or it could be an obstacle from one of those other areas. For example, maybe you've been offered your dream job as represented by Neptune in your house of career, but it involves relocating to some weird place you're less than enchanted with as far as making your home there. Or maybe you're concerned whether or not you can handle the new responsibilities and are having confidence issues. Again, take a look at your life and figure out what fits the best. The favorable aspects out there include a trine from both Mercury and Saturn to the North Node of the Moon, which indicates something new coming into our life or a new direction. Mercury and Saturn, as you recall, are also tied into Uranus and unexpected stuff, and Saturn is in cahoots with Pluto, perhaps trying to hold you back. However, these two planets are also trying to say that it's time to get over it and move forward, in spite of any challenges in the way. This obviously implies your ability to get past them. There is another friendly trine between Mars and Uranus, which implies some good surprises along the way as well which will help you get where you want to go. In fact, Mars is at the apex of a Triangle of Potential (ToP) between Mercury, Mars and Uranus, which is effectively putting you in the driver's seat with your actions determining the outcome. Your Sign Ruler, Venus, is also in Virgo as noted earlier, and while she doesn't necessarily function as well here as other Signs, she's still bringing benefits of some sort to your 5th House, whether of a monetary or relationship variety. She is quincunx Jupiter, another benefic planet, who's also in Aquarius, that 10th House of career in status, implying an expansion in that part of your life. Those two alone represent a lot of encouragement for overcoming any challenges along the way. Another positive indicator is that there are a lot of planets in fellow Earth Signs, i.e. Virgo and then Pluto in Capricorn. These are in harmonious aspect to Taurus by their placement alone. If your birthday is within a day or so of May 14 these events will be even more significant. Being as all this ties into the Full Moon, the implications are that you're leaving something behind to move on to something better. You probably already know what that is, but if not, hopefully I've provided enough hints for you to figure it out. And thus shines the Full Moon. The New Moon, which of course doesn't shine at all, nonetheless represents a new seed about to sprout and show itself to the light of day. By definition, a New Moon is a Sun - Moon conjunction and this one occurs in Libra, your 6th House of work, health and pets. Work in this respect includes not only your day job but any productive work you may do. It also includes service, so you may not be paid for these efforts. For example, if you volunteer for an organization such as Habitat for Humanity, the group itself is in the 11th House but if you're working on a project for them, then it would fall in the 6th. So something new is coming your way in this part of your life; don't forget that this is the house of health, also, so this is a real favorable time to do something like start a diet or exercise program. However, if the Full Moon had significant meaning for you, then this lunation probably is its continuation, which puts this new work in context with what you were pulling together then. Saturn and Pluto are still squared off, so that is still in effect with the same meaning as denoted a few paragraphs earlier. Venus is squaring Pluto as well, but at this point she has moved into Libra where she's quite happy and functional, though that contentment may be part of what you're up against if change is involved. Taurus, as a Fixed Sign, is not exactly a fan of change. Opposition related to disruptions or unexpected events is still a possibility as is resistance to breaking free, if that's an issue for you. Unexpected adjustments or course changes due to unplanned or unanticipated events or circumstances will be required. On the positive side, however, moving toward your dreams looks favorable. Not all surprises will be a problem, some may actually help point the way in a new direction. Structure your plans and aspirations and be willing to move on them in a timely manner. Taurus like to take his/her time making decisions, but you need to remember that windows of opportunity can and do close eventually. Gather all the needed information to make an informed decision, then trust your deepest feelings regarding what you should do. If you're happy where you are, so be it, but if not, then keep telling yourself "If you keep on doing what you've always done, you'll keep on getting what you've always got." Once you commit to what you want to do you'll be surprised how things start falling into place. Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation), there is one elementary truth the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one's favor all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance, which no man could have dreamed would have come his way. Whatever you can do, or dream you can do, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it. Begin it now." Memorize it and repeat it to yourself as often as necessary. Daily and Short-term Aspects October 1: You may encounter a disappointment of some kind today that you find discouraging. Hang in there, there's a good chance things will turn around sooner than you may think. October 4: Full Moon today as described above. October 8 - 9: It may feel as if your creativity is being stifled or something else you'd like to pursue. This is not necessarily the case. Maybe you just need to figure out exactly how it can be done, step by step. Go back to the drawing board, kick your creativity up a notch, and expect a flash of innovation to come your way. The path will change a bit, but the destination will still have appeal. October 10: Mercury goes into Libra today, facilitating communications and ideas related to any work or projects you're pursuing. The astrological climate is favorable for expanding your career or status through your hard work. If you hit another speedbump, dig deeper. Examine your beliefs and everything else that seems to be holding you back for the root cause. Once you figure out what it is you'll have a better idea how to deal with it. October 12 - 13: Jupiter goes direct on the 12th, which will help release his expansive power in a more direct way on our career, reputation and status aspirations. Your drive, ambition and hard work will be a formidable combination. On the 13th some money luck or even just some serious encouragement from someone you care about will generate even more motivation to succeed. October 14 - 15: Your Sign Ruler, Venus, goes into Libra on the 14th, lending her assistance to your work projects and possibly some money luck. On the 15th you may bump up against another obstacle, but again, find the root cause, which may have its origin in your own belief system or expectations. October 16: Mars goes into Leo today, unleashing a lot of his energy in your 4th House of home environment. This can be useful for getting projects done, but it can also lead to contention if not managed properly. Expect the unexpected today and be prepared to make a few more adjustments. Inspiration is out there to assist, so don't be afraid to think outside the box. October 18: New Moon today as described above. October 20: Good ideas for expanding your career or status are available today. Put them to good use. October 23: The Sun goes into Scorpio today, bringing more emphasis and focus to your close relationships. October 24: Opportunities to unearth something that may have been holding you back are there today, perhaps through someone you know. This is a favorable time generally for networking with friends, family and business associates. Another unexpected change of course may arise yet again, but inspirational help is available. October 28: Another very favorable day for work and career projects. Network, network, network. Hidden information may come forward that is just what you need. October 29: Saturn goes into Libra today, bringing additional patience, perseverance and hard work your way for that pet project. Your ambitions may not be met with a lot of enthusiasm on the homefront, however. Someone you know well is going to create a challenge of some description or hold you back in some way, even if it's not intentional.
