Lunations and Long-term Aspects The Full Moon this month on the 4th falls in your 2nd House of finances, possessions, needs and pleasures, indicating either an ending or phase shift for this part of your life. Considering the various similarities between this lunation and the New Moon later in the month, my best guess is that it will be a phase shift as opposed to a dramatic ending. Since neither the Full nor New Moons look particularly fortuitous and both occur in Houses that relate to your finances in one way or another, I would hang on to your resources in a death grip and avoid any frivolous spending. Of course that's generally good advice in any economy, but unless you've been living in isolation in a cave somewhere in the Grand Tetons you have probably noticed that things lately haven't been going too well. And based on the very remote chance that you have, I recommend you stay there a while longer. Knowing Aquarians, however, isolation doesn't sound much like something you'd pursue, but you may well have a friend with strong Saturn influences who, unbeknownst to you, is doing that very thing. Bear that in mind, just in case. I'm going to warn you right here that there are alligators in the water this month you need to avoid. It is not a time to take unnecessary chances because it doesn't look like there's a whole lot of good luck coming your way. Even if your birthday is right around February 8, putting transiting Jupiter on your Natal Sun, Jupiter is currently retrograde which doesn't always deliver as promised. I'm not trying to scare you but if I painted a rosy picture that was entirely false, I wouldn't be doing my job, either, and you'd think I didn't know what I was talking about. For example, if you asked me if it was safe to take a long trip and I saw impending disaster but told you everything would probably be okay but it wasn't, I don't think you'd be sending any referrals my way anytime soon. The best you can do is figure "Forewarned is Forearmed" and take this information as you see fit. While it's always possible that something entirely wonderful will come along and well could, based on how the transits hit your individual Natal Chart, plus these aspects usually contain a mixed bag, the prevailing flavor is for a month that you simply need to navigate as carefully as possible to avoid the pitfalls. As always, the Full Moon has numerous aspects associated with it that should provide a few clues regarding what to expect. The first one to think about is an opposition between your Sign Ruler, Uranus, and ancient Sign Ruler, Saturn. These two are tremendously different, in fact I would go so far as to say they're diametrically opposed. Uranus is all about disruptions, surprises, sudden change, rebellion, innovation and the unconventional while Saturn is all about structure, boundaries, delays, responsibility, obligations, and authority. Saturn is what holds the fabric of civilization together with hard and fast laws that provide stability. Thus, they are already opposing one another in principle so when in astrological opposition there will be influences from both venues tugging you in two or more directions. Uranus is in your 2nd House, the same location as the Full Moon, where he's probably been messing with your finances since somewhere in the vicinity of March 2003. Saturn is in your 8th House which comprises transformations, shared resources, sex, death and debt; the similarities between these two polar houses should be pretty apparent. This opposition implies further challenges between situations vying for your money as well as possible fluctuations in your income or investments (no rocket science there). If you're trying to be responsible about your debt load or perhaps past frivolities have come back to bite you, maintaining stability will be challenged consistently with temptations that frequently have compelling rationale to spend money you may not have. This situation is going to be more noticeable for the next month, so make a commitment now to stick to your budget, though in some cases you may not be able to avoid spending. For example, if your car breaks down, which wouldn't be surprising with Mercury retrograde between September 7 - 28, or an unexpected medical expense comes up or family emergency, there's not much you can do other than expect that something is going to come along and brace yourself accordingly. Another opposition, though the orb is a tad wide, is between Mars and Pluto. These two aren't exactly known as benefics so they bear watching as well. Theoretically astrology should help identify prevailing energies and give you some clues on how to use it in a positive way. Sometimes this works and others all we can do is anticipate it and be prepared. Mars is in your 6th House of work and health, which certainly doesn't inspire too many comforting thoughts. All that energy in that area can give you a lot of drive as it pertains to your job, but it can also indicate aggressive or competitive forces. Be especially careful to avoid accidents this month. Don't do foolish things like text while driving (which increases your chances of an accident far worse than a few drinks) or engage in extreme sports. If you already have a health issue that has been somewhat dormant, it may finally manifest clearly. This placement can easily indicate surgery as well, so be careful. Really. Pluto is in your 12th House, which doesn't bode much better. The 12th includes such things as spirituality, enlightenment, dreams and inspiration on the positive side but also comprises institutions, confinement (like in hospitals or prison), hidden enemies and self-undoing on the negative. Pluto excels at unearthing hidden elements for rectification which can definitely be a good thing, but paired with that 6th House Mars this is another astrological caution flag. At the least there's a good chance that someone is trying to undermine you at work and obstruct your progress. Keep an eye in your figurative rear-view mirror. Mars is also square Mercury who's in your 9th House of beliefs, expectations, legal matters, higher education, relocation and cultural matters/long-distance travel. Mercury stimulates our thoughts and also rules movement so there should be some action in this part of your life, most likely on the mental plane. In a square to Mars in your 6th House of work, this will probably pertain to issues there, perhaps involving such things as ethics. It could also pertain to a relocation or any other 9th House issue. This will require a choice on your part and is very likely to all tie in with those financial issues since it doesn't take much of a mental stretch to tie your finances and job together. Slightly less stressful as aspects go are the two quincunxes flanking the Full Moon. One is between Venus and the Moon herself with Venus in your 7th House of relationships, which is certainly a pleasant placement. This should be enhancing and embellishing your one-on-one relationships, bringing you the blessings of a friendly environment in which to commiserate with others, at least. A quincunx indicates an adjustment or change of course is called for, which probably relates to someone close to you, possibly within your household, and also ties back into those financial considerations. No matter how much you love this person, I wouldn't be too quick to whip out the checkbook. The other quincunx is between Saturn and Neptune, another unlikely pairing of disparate energies. As described earlier, Saturn is about structure and boundaries while Neptune is all about dissolving them. Saturn is about cold, harsh reality and Neptune is about dreams and rose-colored glasses. The most likely indication here is that you've been wearing those rose-colored glasses and need to take them off. However, there is also some chance that you've been obsessing too much on your problems and obligations and it's time to renew your hopes and dreams, regardless of the situation you're in now that may be less than ideal. Whichever one it is you should be able to figure out, then have a heart-to-heart talk with yourself to figure out your best course of action. As an Air Sign you're logical by nature so if you've been delusional, you should be able to put that to rest. Maybe. That stellium comprising Neptune, Jupiter, and the asteroid, Chiron, are still hanging out together in conjunction in your 1st House. If your birthday is between February 7 - 14 they're sitting on your Natal Sun and have been for a while, especially since they're all currently retrograde which means they'll be passing back through the same territory in the days and month to come. The bottom line is this stellium could be doing a real number on your sense of reality. Neptune, as noted earlier, tends to dissolve what he touches or at least cloud our judgment. Chiron, the wounded healer, could be bringing a variety of misfortunes your way though on the positive side, he could also be presenting you with various opportunities to be a comfort to others who are walking difficult paths where you have trod in the past. Jupiter, who's usually lucky, expands and inflates what he touches, so with this particular combo the expansion function may not be a good thing, but rather a huge bubble of delusion. Again, on the positive side, this stellium could conceivably help you define your dreams. Neptune can bring inspiration and enlightenment and could be helping you get in closer touch with your spiritual self. It could also draw you to esoteric subjects and psychic abilities that could open up new vistas for your perusal and enjoyment. At any rate, be aware that it's there and to give a litmus realty check to your visions before acting on them. The New Moon on September 18 occurs in Virgo, your 8th House of transformations, debt, sex, and death. Death in this context includes anything that is old, worn-out or useless that needs to be disposed of and replaced with something new. The New Moon, which by definition includes the Sun and Moon in conjunction, is also in the same degree as stuffy Saturn, bringing an increased air of seriousness and hopefully newfound wisdom. Mercury, retrograde at that time, is also in the same neighborhood, implying the need to review an idea or concept and make a few revisions. In a nutshell, this New Moon is saying to take a serious look at something for a new approach that will change how you see things in a significant and potentially profound and life-changing way. Saturn, the New Moon and Mercury are all opposite Uranus, implying that those disruptions or surprises in the financial area may be the motivation for this major change. Pluto is square the New Moon stellium, which once again brings input from the spiritual realm to all this or perhaps some issues to deal with that involve people you thought you could trust who are trying to undermine you in some way. Also be cautious of making decisions that aren't in your best interest. Sometimes we can be our own worst enemy and aspects like this would make that more likely. Neptune is quincunx the New Moon and Saturn, calling for adjustments or a change of course and with any luck at all will be inspiring you with some viable options. Neptune is also opposite Venus, still in your 7th House, pulling in someone close to you in some manner. If you're being delusional, this could represent someone who will help you see reality more clearly, like it or not. Venus is also trining Pluto, the single seemingly fortuitous aspect, implying that someone you care about will help you get in closer touch with your spiritual self or find the inspiration you need. Both of these lunations clearly imply some challenges for this month. Again, think of it as being forewarned. Knowing that the vibes out there aren't exactly in your favor can help inspire caution. Don't feel picked on because none of the other signs are faring much better right now. The transits are challenging for everyone, but in different ways. The good news is that the planets indeed move, albeit slowly, and this, too, shall pass in due time. Short-term Aspects September 1 - 3: New ideas and considerations will come your way today which will have a long-term effect on your core beliefs and expectations. Take note of these; they're important, even if something you never thought about before. Among other things, they could be about how to get ahead at work or pursue a new path, though there is going to be competition or challenges of some description. Someone close to you, perhaps an older woman, may introduce some changes that affect your finances and influence your debt load in some manner. Make sure you get all the facts and measure them carefully. September 4: Full Moon today as described above. September 7: Mercury goes retrograde today until September 28. Expect to be rethinking various issues that relate to your core beliefs. You may also be reconsidering her higher learning options, legal matters, relocation, or a trip abroad. Remember this is not the time to buy electronic or mechanical items, especially a car. Rent one until mid-October, if required, but unless you want to deal with a lemon, don't buy one until then. September 8 - 10: Someone close to you will stir up issues from the past that were buried prematurely and need to be properly resolved. They might also point out something that inspires you or possibly point out a self-defeating behavior, someone who's trying to undermine you, or limitations you could eliminate in some manner. If you've been closing your eyes to something going on at work it may become harder to ignore. Deep insights of a transformational nature regarding someone you care about may ensure as well. September 11: Someone you care about may keep you from pursuing something, putting you in a Catch-22 situation where you want to please them, yet want to go after whatever it is they don't approve of. Make your own decision while being considerate of their views. There is more to the situation than they can see, for whatever reason. Your beliefs may be out of synch with theirs, but bear in mind that beliefs are entirely subjective to how we see things from our own knothole. September 12 - 14: A change of course or adjustment is on your agenda that involves your idealistic view versus the way life really is. Getting onboard with reality may be somewhat like riding a horse or motorcycle for the first time. Expect your view of the world and life in general to make a quantum leap. September 15: Today is one of those days where temptations may arise of a financial or even pleasurable nature that are contrary to your financial well-being. Someone close to you is going to offer advice or perhaps sympathy that may or may not point you in the right direction. Turn up the gain on that Air Sign logic and figure it out for yourself. September 16 - 17: You're still being bombarded by annoying reminders regarding responsible debt management from someone close to you. You know you need to tweak a few things to get in synch with reality, but that Fixed Sign resistance is strong. Look at that bank balance again and repeat "Change is NOT bad, Change is NOT bad..." as many times as required. There is something deep inside of you that's resisting but new beliefs are trying to surface. This may be assisted by a glaring glimpse of your responsibilities like you've never seen them before. September 18: New Moon today as described above. Mercury retreats into Virgo as part of his retrograde cycle, helping you rethink a few things that will have a transformational effect if you let them. September 19 - 21: Annoying reminders from someone close to you, possibly your significant other, are forcing a review of former beliefs and expectations. At last a lightbulb is likely to come on as something from your past comes out that explains some of your self-defeating behavior. Welcome to the real world. Someone at work is going to be getting on your last nerve, probably a female. September 22 - 23: The Sun goes into Libra on the 22nd, helping bring fairness and balance to us all. Increased understanding of your responsibilities is becoming more and more motivating along with increased understanding of what is holding you back. Now is a good time to take a look at your budget but this time with those blinders off. September 25 - 30: Personal growth is occurring as a result of your willingness to face the truth. Opportunities to move forward on the job are there if you make some adjustments to your beliefs or possibly be willing to relocate. Mercury goes direct on the 28th, helping you pull together all those reconsiderations into a viable plan. What's the Universe trying to tell you? Find out with a Secondary Progressed Report!
