Lunations and Long Term Aspects

This month the Full Moon on the 4th is in Pisces, your 7th House of close relationships.  While a Full Moon often signals an ending, it also can mean simply the culmination of one phase in preparation for a new one.  This month it looks like the latter since both lunations carry very similar themes.  Thus, expect to see a shift that is going to tie into your relationships in some way.

If your birthday is within a day or so of September 5th this will be even more noticeable because it will be exactly opposite your Natal Sun, though all Virgos will feel it to some degree.  One of the accompanying aspects worth noting is an opposition between Saturn and Uranus.  The influence of these two planets is about as antithetical as you can get.  Saturn is all about structure, discipline, responsibility, delays, and authority while Uranus is about sudden change, disruptions, freedom, and rebellion.  With these two forces opposing one another, particularly when that influence is stretched across your 1st House of personality and your 7th of close relationships, you can bet that there's going to be something going on between you and someone.  Don't forget that the 7th House astrologically includes all close, one-on-one relationships so this does not necessary implicate your significant other, though it could.  It could be any close friend or relative, business partner, or even someone known to be an opponent.  It could also mean that one of these individuals is having all sorts of problems that keep splashing on you, or it could also mean that someone in that category is trying to draw you away from your usual, practical, Earth Sign view of things.  You could be plugging along being ultra-responsible while someone is being a complete twit and causing a variety of disruptions.  No telling, but you get the idea.

Another opposition worth noting, though the orb is a bit wide, is between Mars and Pluto.  These two are typically considered astrological "bad boys" though their effect can also be positive in that Mars imbues us with drive and energy and Pluto helps us examine and resolve issues that have been pushed aside or uncover information that has likewise been buried.  Mars is in your 11th House of friends, associates, organizations, hopes and wishes, which could mean someone has made you a target of aggression or simply that you're extremely energized to pursue one of your hopes.  The 5th House, where Pluto is camped out for a long, long time comprises your ego, creativity, children, romantic interests, entertainment and speculations.  This could very well represent competition or a power struggle of some sort between you and those "others", whomever they happen to be.  Maybe your ego is being trimmed, friends are giving you some flack about a romantic interest, an organization involving your children is having issues and so forth.  This should be of short duration since it's already on the fringe as aspects go.

The square between Mercury and Mars, however, is quite close.  Mercury is your Sign Ruler and for the sake of the Full Moon is in your 2nd House of finances, possessions, needs and pleasures.  This will be stirring up a variety of activities in this area that will undoubtedly also include your friends or organizational ties, though these are likely to be more of a challenge than pleasure.  Perhaps a friend or organization is hounding your for money or has reminded you of a debt you'd conveniently forgotten, odd though this would be for a Virgo, the Sign with one of the best memories out there.  Some adjustments are called for by this lunation as well as indicated by a quincunx between Venus and the Moon and another one between Saturn and Neptune

First of all, a quincunx denotes the need for a change of course or adjustment and sometimes a justification.  The one between Venus and the Moon implies an issue with a female who's close to you, perhaps even your mother.  Venus typically implies the involvement of a female as does the Moon, so between the two of them you can be fairly confident there's a woman involved in some way.  A quincunx isn't necessarily a bad aspect but only indicates a tweak or change of course is needed.  Venus in your 12th House could have a variety of interpretations, however, since there is a wide range of venues covered by it.  For example, it could be anything from inspiration hailing from a woman to some female who has you trapped in some way or even a female who's trying to undermine you in some way in the capacity of a hidden enemy.  There are a plethora of possibilities, so be on the lookout.

The other quincunx between Saturn and Neptune is another one that will be interesting since these two planets are also quite different, as much so as Saturn and Uranus but in a slightly different way.  Saturn remains the stable member, of course, but Neptune is about dissolving boundaries, imagination, lofty ideals beyond the scope of reality, and sometimes illusion or delusion.  Neptune is in your 6th House of work, health and pets so look to that area of your life for something that needs a change of course.  Maybe you've not been seeing things clearly, which is detrimental to your security unless you make a few adjustments.  On the other hand, maybe you need to employ more inspiration in this part of your life, particularly if you're in a job that you find less than satisfying.  Be careful that you're not overdoing it on the job such that you'll wear yourself out and also take a good look at your health to see if you're taking proper care of yourself in that area.  Usually Virgos are quite health conscious but if you've been too burdened with responsibilities, sometimes it's easy to let something like eating right or exercising regularly slide.  At any rate, that ought to give you plenty to think about as far as the Full Moon is concerned.

The New Moon looks like a bit of a zinger that will probably pick up one of those themes present in the Full Moon and carry it to a new level.  This lunation will be strongest for those of you born within a day or so of its occurrence on September 18th.  A New Moon by definition is a conjunction between the Sun and Moon plus Saturn and Mercury are in there as well, making it a rather strong stellium.  This implies a new sense of personal responsibility awaits.  Mercury, your Sign Ruler, is retrograde at that time, telling you that you need to rethink or reconsider something of a personal nature, perhaps even your attitude.  Further strengthening that theme is an opposition to them all from Uranus, who's in your 7th House of relationships as noted earlier.  This implies that a disruption or something unexpected from someone close to you is going to force you into some additional responsibility or obligation.

Neptune is quincunx the New Moon and Saturn, implying a change of course is in order regarding your work, how you spend your time, or perhaps your health.  If you've been carrying around any delusions or ideals relative to this area of your life it's probably time to let it go and see things as they really are.  Neptune is also opposing Venus in your 12th House of spirituality, enlightenment, dreams, inspiration, confinement and hidden enemies, as mentioned earlier.  This could mean that an adjustment to one of your dreams is called for, but this does not necessarily mean in a detrimental or negative way.  It could just as easily mean that you gain greater vision regarding where you want to go that will be more inspiring that your current course of action.

Pluto is squaring the New Moon and Mercury from your 5th House of ego, creativity, children, entertainment and romantic interests.  If there is anything superficial about the things you enjoy in life, Pluto is going to call that to your attention.  That may even be what this is all about, though not necessarily.  It may simply mean that your responsibilities may interfere with the things you enjoy the most.  On a positive note, Pluto is also trine Venus.  This bodes very well for some inspiration coming your way to assist you through any challenges operating at this time.  This is also a good aspect to help you set your priorities in a way that will have deeper meaning in your life than what they've been in the past.  Give it some thought and see what you come up with.

One final note regarding the fact that your Sign Ruler, Mercury will be retrograde the better part of the month.  This is never exactly delightful news for those of Virgo or Gemini persuasion since it affects you more strongly than others.  Virgos have even more to complain about than usual because if your birthday falls during that retrograde period, i.e. September 7 - 22, that rather annoying aspect will be part of your solar return this year, which means it will be influencing you until your next birthday.  Thus, you may want to gear your goals more to reworking and revising your current plans for life rather than making any significant progress forward in a new direction.  Doing so will simply result in an exercise in frustration.  On behalf of the Universe, I apologize, but it can't be helped.

Short Term Aspects

September 1-3: Something related to your work or how you spend your time that relates to your finances or pleasures is stirring things up today.  It's likely to be something like having to work overtime when you had something enjoyable planned, though it could also be of a positive nature such as a raise or bonus that enables you to get something you've been wanting for a while.  It's going to relate to your friends, coworkers or an organization as well. Think positive though fulfilling your responsibilities and obligations today will probably keep you from something or someone you'd prefer to be with.  Expect the unexpected from someone close to you as well.

September 4:  Full Moon today as noted earlier.

September 7:  Mercury goes retrograde today in your 2nd House of finance and possessions.  This indicates there's something in this part of your life that you need to be reviewing.  It could also cause certain items to malfunction, such as computers, cell phones, cars, and so forth.  Remember that buying new ones during this period will not solve the problem but simply bring more frustrations.

September 8 - 10:  Expect a situation that calls your attention to what's most important to you.  This is likely to be something inspiring that helps you remember where your priorities should be.  If there's one of your coworkers that's less than trustworthy or misleading you, expect to see evidence of it today.  On the other hand, someone else may just mess something up that you need to fix.  Pluto goes direct on the 10th after several months of retrograde, bringing any ruminations regarding your creativity, kids, romantic interests and so forth to the surface for further understanding and possible action.

September 11:  Another day that's good for considering how you spend your time versus those things that mean the most to you at a spiritual level.  You may not be able to do anything about it just yet, but the awareness will be there.  On the other hand, you may be able to identify some adjustments or course changes that will take you closer, if you give it some careful thought.  If it involves money, maybe there's a solution out there that you missed.

September 12 - 14:  More adjustments are vying for your attention that relate to balancing home responsibilities and work.  Knowing that Virgos are perfectionists by nature, give careful consideration to whether this is part of your problem.  Remember that, shocking though it may be, being a perfectionist is not always a virtue.

September 15:   Expect something unexpected with regard to someone close to you to happen today that is going to either keep your from your responsibilities or add to them.  If you've had an idealistic view of your job, reality is going to creep in, wanted or not.  Adjustments regarding a relationship are on the agenda as well, especially if you've been expecting too much from someone.

September 16 - 17:  What you want and what you get won't be in synch today.  More adjustments will be required at work or involving how you spend your time.  Be realistic.  More disruptions or a continuation of the one a day or so ago are possible.  A conflict between money and your kids or other favorite activities may arise.  Responsibilities and obligations will be glaring in your face.

September 18:  New Moon today plus Mercury backs into your Sign, which will actually help you rethink a few things of a personal nature or see yourself in a new way.  Virgos don't like to admit when they're wrong, but you may discover something along those lines, like it or not.

September 19 - 21:  If you've been neglecting your spiritual nature and not nourishing it as you should, think about what you can do to rectify it.  Lots of thoughts and ideas are out there today to help you figure it out.  Venus enters Virgo on the 20th, which is a very favorable place for her to be.  Others will view you in a very positive manner and be more receptive to what you say.  This is also a favorable time to do something for yourself that will help relieve some of the stress you've been under lately.

September 22 - 23:  The Sun goes into Libra today, bringing light and attention to those financial issues or possibly highlighting the need for some rest and relaxation.  Expect a lot of mental activity in that regard which should be enlightening.  Insights into these matters should be readily available.  Those hassle with someone close to you are still active but today is a good one for looking at what's really going on by reviewing the facts.  If you've been unrealistic in any way, now is the time to change course.

September 24 - 30:  A change of course at work or regarding a project or possibly even your health is in order today.  Money and work will be an issue as well.  Mercury goes direct on the 28th, helping you sum up what you've been reconsidering the past several weeks, but don't expect much progress until after October 15.  Opportunities are out there worth pursuing so keep an eye out.
