Lunations and Long-term Aspects This is your month, Leo, as the Sun spends most of it in your sign, bringing attention and emphasis to you in a variety of ways. This month we another Full Moon/lunar eclipse which will further reinforce the ones we had in July. As you may recall, the theme of these eclipses, based on their affiliation with the 11-South family of the Saros series, is to institute sudden reforms, find new and innovative approaches to existing problems and the sudden removal of any obstacles, perhaps in a forceful way. This eclipse occurs in your polar sign, Aquarius on August 5th; if your birthday is within a day or so of August 6 it will oppose your Natal Sun and be more noticeable. Aquarius is your 7th House of relationships, so this implies something is going on in this area of your life. Remember that "relationships" in the astrological context includes not only your significant other but close friends and relatives, business partners, and if you're in business for yourself, your cliental. Anyone with whom you have a one-on-one relationship is in this category. While the effects may touch any and all of these individuals, it's more likely to be focused on one person in particular. One of the aspects accompanying the eclipse that will further color its influence is a Triangle of Potential that comprises Pluto, Venus and Mercury. Pluto is transiting your 6th House of work, health and pets and as the zodiacal roto-rooter, he will be unearthing anything in this part of your life that requires renovation. Work can be your day job or any other projects you're pursuing that keep you occupied, which Pluto will be forcing you to examine in a variety of ways. If you're in a profession such as forensics this will be helpful indeed as it will help you flush out hidden information. It could also pertain to how you feel about your work and whether you should be doing something else. Also, if you've done anything covert that was inappropriate, that information will also find its way to the surface. Hidden information simply won't stay that way once Pluto is in the house, astrologically speaking. As far as your health is concerned, if you have any issues that either haven't surfaced or haven't been diagnosed, this will help in that regard. This transit will be in effect for years so you may as well settle in for the long haul. With Pluto opposite Venus, who's in your 12th House, all sorts of things are likely to come out. Your 12th House includes spiritual connections, inspiration, dreams, institutions, hidden enemies, enlightenment, the collective consciousness and anything else that's hard to put a finger on, but you know is there. Venus is a benefic planet so her presence there should be favorable. Venus doesn't stay in a sign for very long unless it includes a retrograde period; in fact, she'll leave this one on August 26 and go into Leo. However, while she's there she will help you connect in a positive manner with these woo-woo type of things. Now is a favorable time to take some time for meditation and renewal, to get in touch with your spiritual side and redefine who and what you are. Put this in the context of Pluto exhuming anything that's been buried regarding your work and so forth and it will be very helpful for determining where you stand with your work. It could bring great inspiration for unearthing information, including whether you are in the right field of endeavor. If you've been uncomfortable or frustrated with your job now is a tremendous time to get a few things figured out. The final member of this Triangle of Potential is Mercury, who rules communication and data, transportation and so forth and he's in Virgo, your 2nd House of possessions, pleasures, income, and finances. Clearly this ties in well with your job. If you've been thinking of changing jobs but it will mean an income reduction, this aspect will help you figure out whether or not you should go for it, regardless. If you need to make more money to make ends meet, it will also help you determine something else you could do to generate more income. Leos typically are well-endowed with talents and creativity, so there's a good chance you have some ability that has remained untapped as far as helping your finances. Use this aspect, which is essentially on steroids since it's part of an eclipse, and put it to work for you. With Mercury at the apex of the aspect, he is the key factor to rectify the other considerations. Another aspect associated with the eclipse is a square between Mars and Saturn. Neither of these planets are particularly friendly, neither is a square. These are placed such that you can expect a confrontation or aggressive move from an acquaintance or perhaps an organization you're associated with. Saturn is about responsibility, obligations, and hard lessons and also rules bureaucracies and corporations. This implies that if you've neglected any of your financial obligations that you'll be hearing about it in no uncertain terms. This, of course, could motivate your concern for generating more income. These events will ultimately have a transformational effect on you and influence your way of thinking and approaching these matters in the future. The New Moon on August 20 is in your sign and if you were born right around August 20 this will have an even stronger influence for you. A New Moon usually brings something new into our life, or at the least a new phase of an old issue. There are a plethora of aspects connected with this lunation that is going to stir things up in several areas of your life. First of all, there's a T-square between Mercury, Saturn, Uranus and Mars. A T-square brings a conflict of some sort and this one looks as if it will further emphasize those financial issues. There are actually three Triangles of Potential which further emphasize these same themes though one introduces something new that involves your relationships. That stellium comprising Neptune, Jupiter and the asteroid, Chiron, is still out there, and currently all three of them are retrograde. Back in July they were all in the same degree and I can't begin to tell you all the things that went on at that time, most of it of a less than pleasant nature. This trio in your 7th House of relationships could cause you some headaches as well, especially with it tied into the New Moon. Specifically watch for some major deception that will ultimately hurt you in some way. Don't be too trusting, especially without the verifiable facts in hand. Someone you think is a friend may not be at all, so watch your back. The 7th is also the house of open enemies, so if you have any, watch out for that as well. There are adjustments and Catch-22s galore. As a Fixed Sign change does not come easily for you, but it's something you're going to have to deal with, like it or not. There is a double yod out there as well and its purpose is to point you in a specific direction. The apex of both yods again points to that stellium of deceit and also involves that soul-searching and spiritual renewal you need to work on and those financial responsibilities. Another special bonus with this lunation just for Leos is the fact that the lunar nodes, which move backwards through the zodiac, are on the Leo/Aquarius axis. This indicates that something is changing in your life, perhaps by something going out of it, especially if your birthday is July 23. [NOTE:--I have some personal knowledge of this one since I have a daughter born on that day. The nodes are quincunx Pluto who's on Leo's 6th House cusp, which indicates an adjustment or Catch-22 regarding work. It just so happens that this daughter of mine will be having a baby this month and will be quitting her job to stay home with her children, so in her case this is a textbook delineation.] The New Moon is trining Pluto, however, which bodes well for some positive transformations effects. Thus, there will be issues to deal with this month that are undoubtedly going to bring a plethora of challenges, but what comes out of it all will set you on a new path which will be of a positive nature. As you slog through the various messes, be sure to keep that in mind. Short-term Aspects August 1 - 3: This is when that soul-searching relative to your work and some spiritual insights and renewal begins. Start thinking about your talents, which ones might be marketable, and how you can find deeper satisfaction with your work while generating more income to meet your obligations. August 5: The Full Moon/lunar eclipse occurs today and is described above. August 7: A favorable day for identifying opportunities for more income. If you're not having any financial challenges at this time, this is a good one for getting in touch with your spiritual self and indulging in something you enjoy. Pamper yourself by going to a day spa, relaxing by the pool or at the beach, or visiting some place where you can relax and find inspiration. August 10: If there is anything amiss with your finances that involves an organization of acquaintance, you're likely to hear about it today. August 13 - 14: Someone from your circle of friends may transition to a closer relationship. This could come as the result of your involvement in an organization and be someone who has really impressed you with their drive and energy to get things done. It could also be a coworker. August 17: Expect information to come your way regarding something related to your financial responsibilities. It could be a new expense, also, perhaps a repair, but this is going to start pointing toward the situations described for the New Moon. Opportunities related to your friends or organizational ties are out there as well. If you're looking for new sources of income, don't neglect any possibilities that lie there, whether as an outlet for your wares or potential clients. Look out for deception involving someone close to you today as well. Also keep a strong grip on your sense of reality. Don't let your imagination get carried away regarding a close associate, friend or your significant other. Get the facts before reacting. That information or news of a financial nature is going to call for some adjustments or even a Catch-22 with someone close to you. Maybe you need to call in a favor or ask for a loan that will change the relationship. Conversely, a friend or relative may ask you for a loan. Look out for deception from any organizational contacts as well. On the positive side, they could also offer some inspiration that you'll be able to use to advantage. There's a veritable potpourri out there today so do your best to sort things out and not allow yourself to be confused by everything that's going on. August 18: The necessity for some adjustments or changes will appear today and start nudging you toward another path. Keep your mind open to change and resist the temptation to ignore it. Something going on with an acquaintance or some other group may take some action that gives you no choice in that matter. There is also the possibility that someone you know may be involved in an event that has a transformational effect on you. August 19: Those considerations at a deep, possibly inspired, level regarding your relationships and finances or possessions will be active today. There's also the possibility that a new friend may have an opportunity for you. This should yield more information on any course changes you need to make. August 20 - 22: The New Moon occurs on August 20, which will bring more information on your financial situation. Watch out for deception, including refusing to see things as they are. The Sun goes into Virgo, your 2nd House of finances, possessions and pleasure on the 22nd, bringing more light to this part of your life. There's the potential for some positive transformations regarding your attitude and understanding of these matters that will help you get on track or improve this part of your life. If your finances are generally under control, this could simply mean opportunities to improve them even more are out there. August 23 - 25: Assessments relative to your work should be part of all these considerations as well. Are you in the right job at the right time? Is something going on you're unaware of that will affect you? Mercury goes into Libra, your 3rd House of thoughts, ideas, and neighbors on the 25th, which will facilitate finding the information you need and thinking clearly about what your options are. Mars goes into Cancer that day as well, though this could bring about some activity from anyone trying to undermine you behind your back. You may also hear of someone you know being in the hospital or confined in some other way. August 26: Challenges related to your thoughts about your job will surface today. It's also likely that you'll be able to get in touch with any reasons why you should be doing something else for a living. You should also be careful and not take any unnecessary chances today as there is the potential for accidents or injury, so be extra careful in everything you do. Venus goes into Leo, however, which is a nice placement. This will increase your natural charm, actually even improve your appearance, and make others more receptive to you in a favorable way, which will ultimately help you attain your goals more easily. August 27 - 28: Be open to things you can do at a personal level to make yourself more desirable as an employee. Is it time for a makeover? Is there some personal habit you have that might be a turnoff to others? Focus on self-improvement today as it could be influence in impressing the right person.
