Lunations and Long-term Aspects

The Full Moon this month on the 10th falls in Virgo, your 2nd House of finances, possessions and pleasures, indicating a culmination is likely in one of those areas. This lunation has some interesting connections with the existing transits, particularly that opposition in progress between Uranus and Saturn, the latter of which is currently retrograde, so will eventually retrace its steps, reinforcing the aspect by grinding back and forth on it. As most of you already know, a Full Moon is an opposition between the Sun and the Moon, whereas a New Moon is a conjunction between the two. So we have the Full Moon/opposition arm-in-arm with these other two with Saturn conjunct the Moon and Uranus conjunct the Sun. Can you spell d-o-u-b-l-e w-h-a-m-m-y? Saturn will be in cahoots with your emotions and Uranus will be eyeball-to-eyeball with the Sun. That Saturn/Moon combo will be influencing your need for financial security. We're talking emotions here, in other words how you feel about your finances. Leos like nice things and don't do well in poverty mode so if the current economic straits we're seeing in the USA are giving your pause for concern already, expect them to escalate this month. Believe me, darlin', you ain't alone.

Meanwhile, the Sun and Uranus are in Pisces, your 8th House of sex, death and regeneration, other people's resources, and transformation. Needless to say that covers a lot of territory, but the bottom line is that it's going to make a difference in your life such that you see things differently than before. The death and regeneration part applies to anything that you need to let go of so it can be reborn. As the planet of abrupt change, unexpected events, and disruptions, there's no telling what Uranus will be up to in that area. Bottom line is that you can expect something to take you by surprise that changes your view of things and will tug against that need for security in one way or another.

There are a couple other aspects tied into the Full Moon that are pointing toward opportunities, which will no doubt play into this tug-o-war. It's an excellent time to do some deep introspection into anything you've swept under the rug. Insights and information will be available that will help your process this information in a meaningful and useful way. This is most likely to relate somehow to your work, current projects, or possibly your health. If you have any bad habits or self-defeating behaviors in these areas, now is the time to take care of business. There are also opportunities through expanding one or more relationships. This is not limited to the significant-other variety but also includes business partners and any other one-on-one interactions. Your beliefs may be holding you back in some way, perhaps because you've been ignoring something. Again, hard times call for hard measures and if you've been ignoring something that needs fixin', use the potent change and opportunity energy in this Full Moon to make some meaningful changes.

Between March 14 - 31, Jupiter will be in an aspect known as a quincunx with Saturn, which usually indicates that an adjustment or change of course is required. It will typically place you in a Catch-22 situation until you figure things out and redirect your thoughts or goals. This is going to relate somehow to one or more relationship and your financial security. So you can see how all of this ties together to create a theme for the month.

The New Moon on the 26th is in Aries, your 9th House of beliefs (including politics and religion), legal matters, long distance travel/relocation, and higher education, indicating something new is coming your way in one of those areas. If you're looking for answers to all those other issues, this is a good place to look for the solution. This lunation contains some serious help with identifying any underlying issues, behaviors, or situations that you need to quit ignoring and resolve which will open the way for you to progress. Another long-term influence out there from March 6 - April 16 is Venus, who's retrograde in Aries. Venus retrograde helps us to dig deep down into areas that have been neglected, so between her and Pluto, you've got some significant astrological help to do some serious house cleaning in the astrological sense. Take advantage of it however you can.

Short-term Aspects

The month starts out with some information coming your way that should give you at least a hint on what all this other stuff is all about. Expect to find out something, either from someone else or through your own ruminations, that needs to be tweaked or readjusted in some way. There are strong financial themes running this month, but bear in mind that this could also include your possessions in general along with how you find pleasure. With relationships in the mix, you can do the math on that one. Have you been too indulgent or working too hard? Balance in life is essential and if it's not there, it's time to make some adjustments. This could come out as the result of an argument with someone close to you, a burst of activity or even a brainstorm. Pay attention because it's setting the course for the month.

Right around the 5th you could have a variety of experiences ranging from full-blown inspiration (after all, Leos are quite creative) to an excursion to Lalaland where you completely ignore reality. This is likely to involve one or more relationships, so be on your guard that you're not being deceived, being disillusioned, or generally not seeing things clearly. It could also see the dissolution of a relationship where you simply wonder what you were thinking. You apparently already know that or you wouldn't be reading this in the first place. Around the 8th you'll either lose all motivation or feel inclined to move forward, if the result earlier was a new idea. Neptune is involved around this time and you never quite know how that will turn out. He inspires, dissolves boundaries and deceives; if your birthday is right around August 17th this will form another quincunx, pointing you further toward one or more adjustments.

Even while Neptune may be messing with your sense of reality, the Sun is going to oppose Saturn, further reinforcing all that financial security and responsibility stuff. A few days later that Full Moon comes along and does his thing with all the trimmings, after having the stage properly set by these various thoughts and events. Expect a surprise of some description that really gets your attention right around March 12. This could be a major disruption, unexpected event, or simply one of those big Aha! moments where all the pieces start to come into focus like a partially complete jigsaw puzzle. Your beliefs will be rattled in some manner that you ought to think about really hard. On March 18 more information will come along relative to that financial issue and the next day an opportunity to take a step in the right direction will surface, perhaps due to something coming out at work that had previously been nicely hidden or possibly something related to your health. More unexpected news is on the way on the 21st and on the 22nd that Jupiter - Saturn quincunx described above is at its strongest manifestation, so if you don't know yet what relationship adjustments are due you may start to figure it out.

Meanwhile, the Sun has slipped into Aries with Mercury soon to follow, which has an entirely different flavor than Pisces. Pisces may be idealistic, dreamy, and sometimes other-worldly, but Aries doesn't have much to say in words appropriate for polite company about all that. Your beliefs will be highlighted along with any action you may need to take relative to your 9th House including all that academic, legal, and cultural stuff, which will have something to do with your work or health. This is all around the 26th with that New Moon who's just waiting to usher something new into your life. Keep your eyes, ears and mind open through the end of the month for whatever is forthcoming in that arena because it has a key relationship to everything else going on. This is bound to be an interesting month which will present its share of challenges since Leo is a Fixed Sign that doesn't exactly revel in change. What you need to bear in mind is that when change is needed it will happen, one way or another so your best bet is to pay attention and participate. If you resist it or try to ignore it you're even less likely to like how it turns out.
