The ingress of outer planets into a new astrological sign always creates a stir of speculation on what the effects will be. Typically, astrologers look back in time to when a similar ingress occurred as a reference point. The last time Uranus and Jupiter were both in Aries was between 1927 - 1935, a time in history which certainly can't be described as boring. These two planets entered Aries again with Uranus doing so on May 29, 2010 and Jupiter following on June 7, 2010. They were in partile conjunction from May 7 - June 14, 2010. Eventually each planet went retrograde and retreated to Pisces which occurred on August 15 for Uranus and September 10 for Jupiter. Jupiter enters Aries again, this time to stay on January 23, 2011 with Uranus following on March 13, 2011. They will not be conjoined again but will both occupy Aries until June 5th when Jupiter goes into Taurus. Between May 7 - June 14, 2010 were some interesting times. Here are some of the key events as reported by Wikipedia: May 2010
June 2010
Granted, the media tends to sensationalize and primarily report events of the most shocking nature.
Our historical reference for a conjunction covers the period between June 7, 1927 through September 11, 1927 and then again between January 24, 1928 - February 17, 1928 (see details below). So what was going on during that time in history? These two planets had no sooner both been present in Aries when on June 7, 1927, according to Wikipedia, Peter Voikov, Soviet ambassador to Warsaw, was assassinated. Skipping to the period when the two planets were in partile (i.e. in the same degree) conjunction which included the time from July 7, 1927 through August 24, 1927 the following occurred: July 1927
August 1927
If you know anything about Aries, you'll note that the only things that made it into Wikipedia for this period with the exception of Coolidge's announcement, the Peace Bridge and Mount Rushmore, are clearly Aries archetypal events. After their respective retrograde periods and such Jupiter and Uranus were in partile conjunction again between January 24, 1928 - January 28, 1928. All that Wikipedia reports for that period is for January 31 – Trotsky is exiled to Alma Ata. Uranus remained in Aries until June 6, 1934 when he entered Taurus, then returned via retrograde between October 11, 1934 - March 29, 1935. Between 1932 - 1934 the Soviet Union suffered a famine during which an estimated five million died and 1934 was the hottest year on record. Here are a few more events during that timeframe, courtesy of Wikipedia: October 1934
March 1935
Needless to say various other events happened during the interim, but this gives you an idea of the ongoing theme of that time.

Uranus first entered Aries on March 31, 1927 but returned to Pisces for a brief, retrograde interlude from November 5, 1927 through January 14, 1928. He returned, this time to stay until June 6, 1934 when he set foot into Taurus for the first time in the 20th Century. Another retrograde cycle brought him back to Aries on October 11, 1934, then he left Aries for good on March 28, 1935. Jupiter joined Uranus in Aries on June 7, 1927 and the two were conjunct until Jupiter went retrograde and returned to Pisces on September 11, 1927. Their conjunction resumed January 24, 1928 until February 17, 1928. After that they were both in Aries until Jupiter went into Taurus on June 4, 1928. Uranus entered Taurus on June 6, 1934, returned to Aries between October 11, 1934 and March 29, 1935, after which he went into Taurus to stay. |
