Lunations and Long Term Aspects The New Moon this month on the 14th is in Aries, your 4th House of home environment. If your birthday is right around January 15 you can expect some new developments that could present a bit of a challenge. Other aspects support adjustments that are likely to result in a change of direction. Mars is quincunx Pluto, two malefic planets who tend to get in our face. Pluto, as you are probably and possibly painfully aware, is in your 1st House and sitting on the Natal Sun of those of you born between December 26 - 28. If there is anything in your life that needs to be eliminated, he'll be making this apparent, but the thing to remember is that this is like cleaning out the garage or basement and is really a good thing when all is said and done. Mars is in Leo, your 8th House of transformations, sex, death, debt and shared resources. Be a bit cautious as long as Mars is in this Sign, which will be until June 8, since this can predispose you to accidents. Be careful and don't over-estimate your abilities. It's springtime and as an Earth Sign you're probably looking forward to getting out in the yard. Don't take unnecessary risks and be especially careful around such things as lawn mowers, chain saws, roto-tillers and so forth. Don't use anything that could hurt you without thinking about the hazards and how you can be safe. Sorry if I'm reverting to a previous life as a NASA safety engineer, but after all, I don't want anything to happen to any of you because I need all the readers I can get. Putting Pluto and Mars together in an aspect that implies a change of course indicates a transformational event is likely, after which your life will be different. This won't necessarily be a bad thing, but on the other hand it might be, so be careful. Don't go and cloister yourself in your house like Saturn-ruled people are prone to do, just don't take any unnecessary chances until after the first week of June. The key to positive use of Mars in the 8th is self-directed, transformational change. If there is some bad habit you'd like to break, some new attitude you'd like to adopt, or significant challenge you'd like to take on, any of which could make you a different person, now is the time. Another quincunx between your Sign Ruler, Saturn, and Neptune is also suggesting a change of direction. Saturn is in retrograde in Virgo, so this is a work in progress since its current activity will be subtle and beneath your radar. Virgo is your 9th House higher learning, legal matters, other cultures, long-distance travel, relocation, beliefs and expectations. Saturn RX is restructuring something but you may be entirely unaware of what it is. He is trine the Natal Sun of those of you born right around January 18-20, so this energy will be relatively comfortable and probably beneficial. Neptune is in your 2nd House of finances, possessions, needs and pleasures and his interaction with Saturn will be interesting to say the least since the two are largely antithetical. Saturn builds and sets boundaries and limitations while Neptune dissolves them. This could go either way, but Saturn, being your Sign Ruler, will probably win in the end. More than likely what needs to happen is for you to let go of some old beliefs and expectations that pertain to your finances, which should be a target-rich environment considering that Cappies tend to be big on security. Saturn is also opposing Uranus who's in your 3rd House of thoughts, ideas, neighbors and siblings as well as short journeys. Uranus brings surprises, the unexpected, disruptions, and so forth. Tying this in with Saturn's placement in your 9th suggests that something will come your way that will present an "Aha!" moment which will ultimately contribute to changing your beliefs. With Uranus involved this is likely to be an unexpected and abrupt change. On the positive side, Venus is in your 5th House of children, ego definition, entertainment, romance and speculation. Our friendly love goddess is trining the North Node, currently residing in Capricorn, which should bring something favorable into your life from that 5th House direction. This will be especially likely if your birthday is between January 5 - 8. The Full Moon on the 28th of the month occurs in Scorpio. If your birthday is within a day or so of December 30 this puts you in charge of this lunation which will have something to do with your friends or organizations you're involved with and something you enjoy. If you've been looking for something that applies to both, perhaps needing a change or more enjoyment in your life, which is likely for a workaholic sign like Cappy, be on the lookout for an opportunity to head in that direction. A Full Moon typically indicates a culmination or ending, but this can also indicate a new phase. Full Moons get a lot of bad press, but in reality they are just as likely to bring something favorable as not. Mars over there in your 8th House is forming a T-square with the Sun/Moon system and further suggesting change. This could very well tie in with the implications of the New Moon and be in cahoots with that transformational change. Maybe it's time to find a new hobby or interest to balance out all your hard work, responsibilities, and obligations which you take very seriously. Mercury is retrograde so remember not to buy anything electronic or mechanical during this time. It's a favorable time to rethink or re-plan, reconsider, or revise; repairs are also appropriate. Saturn is still pushing for restructuring and you may be having a few thoughts that are slightly rebellious or out of character for you. Jupiter is conjunct Uranus so his influence will inflate things even more. Remember Saturn is rumbling around in your house of beliefs and expectations, so maybe there is something you've held onto past it's applicability that you need to ditch. Pluto, who is also encouraging you to ditch anything that is no longer serving you, is vying for attention as well. He's retrograde as well so he's in the backhoe phase of digging things up that have been buried inappropriately. The lunation could yield a clue to what that might be. He's quincunx Venus who by this time is in Gemini, your 6th House of work, health, service and pets. Venus' presence is usually a good thing, so this indicates that Pluto is trying to help you rid yourself of something that will lead to positive results. Short Term Aspects April 2: News, information or thoughts related to home may trigger some adjustments with regard to your career or status. If you're spending too much time at work, maybe it's time for a change. Mercury goes into Taurus, your 5th House of creativity, self-expression, children, hobbies, romance and so forth, which should generate some activity for you in that area. April 3: If you feel as if there's something missing from your life or there's something you need to change, a clue to what that might be will get your attention today. April 4: Take some time today to ponder who and what you are and how you got there. Delve deep into your past and experiences and individuals who made a difference. Figuring out where you've been will help you figure out where you want to go. April 6: Listen for promptings from the past and heed what they tell you. If you were happier back then, figure out why. April 7: Saturn backs into Virgo today, bringing his remodeling task to such things as your education, beliefs and expectations, and long-distance travel or relocation. Pluto goes retrograde which will be in effect until September 14. April 10: A good day to tie the past to the present and on to the future. It should all start coming together regarding where you want to go, which will require some adjustments. April 14: New Moon today in Aries as described above. April 17: An excellent day for creative ideas and problem solving. Find time to relax and do something you enjoy, which will further enhance the process. April 18: Inspiration that could relate to ways to make money from home is possible. Make sure it's inspiration and not delusion, however. Mercury goes retrograde until May 10. Remember not to buy anything with electronic components or moving parts. April 19: Adjustments related to home and your career or status are vying for your attention. April 20: The Sun goes into Taurus, your 5th House of creativity, children, romance, entertainment and self-expression, bringing emphasis to this area for the next month. April 23: Your creativity is strong and an inspired and possibly quirky idea is possible, but it will have financial implications you need to watch carefully. April 24: A good day for more creative problem solving, especially with regard to your career, status, reputation or public image. April 25: Venus goes into Gemini, your 6th House of work, health, service and pets. Her presence there should bring good fortune to this area; time to rethink a few things and perhaps look for a new direction. Ponder the past for lessons.
