Fire and Air signs are a good mix since Fire needs Air to burn. More specifically, Fire signs (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius) thrive on attention and do not do well if their egos are not fed on a regular basis. When Fire is struggling, it tends to get quite cranky and will demand attention in some form or another, consciously or subconsciously, pleasantly or unpleasantly. If Air (Gemini, Libra, Aquarius) lets the flame go out, it's going to have to employ quite a set of bellows to revive that flame. When these two are interacting in a healthy, well-balanced manner, they operate like a hot air balloon, the inner flame lifting the balloon to heights it could never reach alone and providing an idyllic view of the ground below. Everyone looks better from a few thousand feet, n'est-ce pas?

However, if Fire's temper is aroused and the Wind starts to blow, there could be an explosion along the lines of a bomb detonation. Bear in mind that Fire signs are driven more by emotion, i.e. if they're torn between logic and emotion they'll side with the latter. Air, on the other hand, is more driven by logic and is inclined the opposite way. If Fire is already burning hot in the temper department and Air throws too much logic at the argument, it is going to aggravate matters and make Fire burn even hotter. This is when Air needs to employ all the logic they can possibly muster to cut off the Fire's air supply and suggest either a truce or that they continue the discussion later, when they've both calmed down. Couples in this category need to make sure they utilize candlelight dinners for regular discussions that allow problems to be aired and resolved when both parties are under control. Blending the emotional and logical side of an argument is often healthy since one or the other is likely to be the better solution, if both sides can listen to the other with their heads as well as their hearts.
